    Name: Katherine Keane

    Gender: Female

    Age: 17

Appearance: Kate's once dark brown hair fools not a soul on earth. Over time, time mostly spent in the sun, had added a dark red shade to her once brown head. The end result of the transformation was a light mahogany. It cascades only an inch and half past her shoulders. Her build is what is most often seen in female trainers and only one word is needed to be said, thin. Katherine may be thin, but only stands about five feet seven inches off the ground. Her arms have virtually no muscle and her legs are equally as weak. The teen's yellow-green eyes are both appealing and piercing. Her face always acts as a canvas for her various types of makeup. To Kate's dismay she has one intense farmer's tan. Her arms, legs, and face have a copper tone, but the rest of her body, which is hidden under fabrics, are white.

Katherine's clothes are in a constant change. She purchases new clothes every season, and without much of a thought sends her old ones back to her mother who places them in a closet where they will never see another day. Her style depends on the time of year. When the earth is going through warmer trends she emerges in skirts, polos, and the occasional t-shirt. In the fall or winter she is never seen without a jacket, blazer, or sweater draped over her petite figure. Jeans are a familiar sight of Kate's wardrobe, quickly followed by signature scarves. To finish off her outfits she displays several accessories. Scarves are the most common, but jewelry and wristbands are often spotted upon her body. Katherine's has both her ears pierced with the traditional pierce, but her left ear has been punctured one more time in the upper cartilage. Kate's sense of fashion and etiquette often tricks people into thinking that she is, in fact, a coordinator.

    Pokemon Team:

Feraligator: This gator is the most reliable pokemon in battle. Being Katherine's first it has the most experienced and the hardest work ethic. The relationship between the trainer and pokemon is strained in the best of times. Katherine's obvious favoritism for Ninetales often anger the blue monster, but he seems to channel his anger in the right ways. His training is harsh, difficult, and unrelenting. Feraligator will spend hours at a time practicing new combos, moves, and techniques for hour upon hour until it is mastered. The pokemon is both quite and stoic. He hardly ever reveals what he is thinking, which makes it very difficult for Kate to work with him. In battle he is one tough cookie. He is very predictable but effective. He will come with pure power and strength. Katherine's starter fights like a sumo wrestler, unmovable and strong. His problems come when he is fighting a pokemon with pure speed. Socially Feraligator is a loner. He almost never interacts with other pokemon, and if he decides it is worth his time it is almost always negative. Some would consider Feraligator depressed, but he has been emotionless since he was a Totodile.

Ninetales: This creature is hardly ever in its pokeball. Its uncanny ability to read its trainer's mind allows it to react accordingly. There is an unbreakable bond between trainer and the fox; it sometimes results in unhealthy decisions. The relationship between Ninetales and its owner may be Ninetales's main purpose in the party, but its lethality in battle is nothing to be overlooked. Due to the nature of Ninetale's attacks it has the ability to win just about any battle. However, these attacks play as a double-edged sword. Ninetales can lose unexpectedly. Ninetales, like most of Katherine's pokemon, keeps to herself. This pokemon was added to Katherine's party during her pokemon journey. It was Katherine's first caught pokemon, but this was not normal Vulpix. It had already acquired a firestone and with Katherine's help it evolved moments after it was caught. Most of Ninetale's training is the difficult task of teaching an old dog new tricks. It evolved very early in its battling career, and it still retains many of the attacks it was caught with.

Heracross: This pokemon was caught durning one of Feraligator's relentless training sessions. Durning it he had smashed into a, most commonly known, head but tree. The insect fell from it and the training session quickly transformed into a pokemon battle with everything at stake. It defeated the exhausted Feraligator in mere seconds. Heracross's natural battling skills, however, were overmatched when it fought Ninetales. After a series of used ultra balls he was defeated and caught. Heracross is the newest addition to Katherine's team, but his competitive attitude and success makes him look like a seasoned veteran. At first Katherine and Heracross found themselves butting heads in battle, but after the trainer worked out the kinks the two have yet to be defeated. In battle the pokemon is quite speedy and packs a very deadly punch. However, with speed comes problems. Heracross has defensive issues. He can't take a punch and is often killed by the simplest fire and flying moves. Socially Heracross is very pleasant. He loves to interact with living beings. This creates problems because it instantly annoys both Ninetales and Feraligator and its effect on Katherine really depends on her mood.

    Opening Post:

Katherine sat reading a fashion magazine as the city around her thrived. Colorful trolleys, sports cars, and all kinds of people passed her and yet she showed no interest. Early an elderly woman had come and asked for Kate for a seat on the bench. The elder was obviously tired, but what did it matter to Kate? It didn't. Kate ignored the request and continued with her life as if no one around mattered or even existed. In her world only the people who helped her, loved her, and she existed. Everyone else was there to witness her excellence. Even most her pokemon were tools of her trade. "Excuse me ma'm… do you know where the entrance to the docks are?" A man and his two young kids, blatantly lost, asked for the "goddess's" advice. For a quick second she acknowledged the family, but quickly lost interest. Without a word she returned her attention to the article. The man waited for a moment and then ushered a line of pure sarcasm, "Gee, thanks." With those words they were off; Kate smiled. It was almost like she enjoyed making people miserable.

"A Few Simple Tricks to Make Your Eyelashes Longer," the article was practical, but they were tricks for fashionly impaired people. She, however, always questioned herself about her career choice. Sure, she was a pretty good trainer… but her fashion sense seemed to surpass everyone else. At least that's what she believed. Kate scanned her golden watch. It was finally time to make her way to the boarding station. After taking a quick break from her pokemon journey in Celadon, Kate was off to accumulate the final two badges in the Johto region. She would leave Kanto via the S.S.

Six girls were barricading the sidewalk. "Keep Farms Individual!" "Don't Let Farms Get Monopolized!" The two signs were large, but not printed by machine. The handwriting was messy, and they seemed almost unschooled. Why are they protesting Johto legislation in Kanto? What twits. They must have come straight off a Johto farm to believe protesting here would matter. The trainer wasn't pleased with the hold up, nor how the girls were dressed. They were wearing cowboy hats, red flannel shirts, blue jeans, and boots. The crowd grew restless, a man asked them to move politely. This, however, didn't seem to be the best solution as a flurry of shrieks followed. Statements like current farmers would become slaves to the corporate dogs of Goldenrod, and that is was uncivil to unify the agricultural markets spouted out of every cowgirl dissident. Finally Kate had made it to the front; finally someone could end this charade.

"Hey. How about you stop yelling random stuff you have no clue about and go back to school. That handwriting is atrocious, and honestly look at the way you are dressed! You are an embarrassment to my home region. Now how about you let us through before you and your pitiful selves embarrass us all anymore." Katherine, acting as if she hadn't said such disaccording words, walked through the line. The female farm girls were stunned. Katherine, on the other hand, had released a lifetime of hatred. She had always hated the rural areas of Johto, and if it weren't for Goldenrod City she would be embarrassed to say she was born there.

There were two sides to Johto. The first were mainly rural towns supported mostly off large-scale agriculture. Then there were a few major cities, most notably Goldenrod City. Goldenrod was home to some of the most successful corporate leaders in the world, including Kate's uncle. This created a very distant gap between social classes. Although the money wasn't directly in her family, her uncle had helped with the finances and kept Kate in the very highest social class. Kate's father had been absent since she was seven, this left only her mother to care for two young daughters. Katherine's Uncle had no family for himself, so he seemed to be around the house often. His presence aloud both a father figure and money to be present within her life. This might be the only person Katherine has shown a great deal of genuine respect for.

The crowd had reacted the same as the protestors. They couldn't believe what they had just heard, but they were able to forget much easier. A few minutes after the incident the street seemed just as it had been, busy. It took Katherine a half an hour to finally reach the docs. To her dismay there was a line that traversed much of the dock and little children were running wild. The sun was at its peak when finally it was Katherine's turn to be checked on. "Excuse me, may I check you bag, boarding pass, and an ID?" The words came from a short stubby man in a very funny red uniform. Katherine only nodded and handed him what he had petitioned for. "Okay, you may proceed up these steps and onto the ship. You are in room 19. Here is your key; if you have any questions there are people aboard that would love to be your assistance," he ushered her off.

The ship was pretty sizeable and had a very current design. Katherine zigzagged through the tourists but it seemed to be in vain. She hadn't moved far and she hadn't a clue as to where she was going. Even more people had accumulated by the maps, which destroyed that option. She was not going to wait in another line just to look at a map. Finally she found her salvation.

A tall, red suited man was standing still and talking to an older couple. Katherine ran to him cutting off several crowds and bouncing off several bodies. "Excuse me, sir may I have your assistance?"

"Uhh, can't you see he is busy?" The female, who had already been in conversation with the man, responded as if she was protecting her territory.

"Yeah, yeah. Read the ticket first class. Now can you tell me where my room is?" Katherine had little patience but she figured ignoring the woman would be best. The man hastily directed the teen to her room. Kate gave the worker no thanks and was off to her room. After taking several sets of stairs and pathways she arrived at her room.

The king sized bed was fairly comfy, but for a first class room it was rather small. I wonder what the normal rooms are. This room is hardly big enough for me to live in, how can a whole family fit in a room that's smaller then this? They must live like cattle. Shortly after her thoughts, Katherine collapsed on the bed and quickly fell asleep along side her Ninetales. Katherine went into a slumber completely unaware of the tribulations laying only hours away... this might be the last nap in a bed she would ever take.

  • Name: Daiyu Rei
    Gender: Male
    Age: 16
Physical Description: Daiyu is a quiet and grim person with a quiet and grim appearance. Though a bit short and of light build, he has a presence about him that prevents him from seeming frail. His eyes, a golden hazel, are cold despite their warm tones. Contrasting the icy light of his eyes is Daiyu's dark green hair, the bangs of which occasionally fall before his irises like prison bars to further divide himself from the outside world. Encircling the base of the trainer's neck is a short necklace, the links of its chain carved from black jade. Aside from his Pokemon, this is perhaps one of his most prized possessions. Also of particular importance is the silver necklace and white jade lily pendant he wears hidden beneath his shirt. The former is his own and has belonged to him for most of his waking memory. The latter was worn every day by his mother until her death. How it survived the crash mostly unscathed he is unsure, but this has only served to raise its value in his eyes. Unable to bear the thought of "that other woman" wearing the necklace, he brought it with him when he left home.

Not having much money available for his use, Daiyu has learned to buy clothing that is slightly too large to allow himself to use it for a longer period of time. His current outfit he has not quite grown into yet, though it is at least comfortable. Over a greyish blue shirt, Daiyu has navy colored jacket that is usually partially zipped up. One or both shoulders of the jacket have a tendency to slip down, but this does not seem to impede his movements. The hood and bottom edge of this outer layer are white. For pants, the youth wears a pair of faded black jeans held up by a belt. On a second, looser belt linked to the first Daiyu keeps his Pokeballs. When he is uncomfortable, he has a habit of placing his hands in his pockets in a manner that covers up the Pokeballs--guarding them while granting the trainer easy access to them. Daiyu's shoes are normal, grey and white tennis shoes dirtied and worn by travel. His left wrist bears an analog watch with a metal band. Most of his belongings are carried in a black, green, and white backpack.

    Pokemon Team:

    Name: Amber
    Species: Flareon
    Gender: Female
Personality/History: When Daiyu was five, his mother gave him his first Pokemon--an infant Eevee. Around its neck was a collar that bore a bright gem to distinguish it from the other Eevees she was breeding at the time. When the boy asked what pretty rock was, his mother told him it was called "amber." It was from this that Amber received her name. While Daiyu considered Amber a playmate and friend, his early experiences raising her taught him how to care for others. Two years after he obtained his Eevee, Daiyu received a fire stone for his birthday and evolved her into a Flareon. Despite the change in Amber's appearance, not much changed in the relationship between human and Pokemon. Following his mother's death, however, Amber somehow became a second mother figure to her trainer, caring for the one who had once cared for her.

In battle, Amber is--despite the stigma of her type--rather level-headed. When facing opponents in the wild, her judgment has often allowed her to gauge the strength of her opponents and whether or not to run away. Since her trainer sometimes loses his temper in these situations, such skills cause her to become particularly valuable.

    Name: Corundum ("Cori")
    Species: Butterfree
    Gender: Male
Personality/History: Daiyu first met Corundum as a Caterpie deep within Viridian Forest. Surrounded by Metapod hanging from the trees, the creature appeared rather agitated. From what Amber was able to understand, the Metapod present had once been the Caterpie's friends. But while they had evolved around the same time as one another, this Caterpie was left on its own. As Daiyu and Amber watched, the Caterpie crawled from Metapod to Metapod and even attempted to imitate them by hanging from a branch. Feeling sympathy toward the lonely bug type, the Flareon and human offered to stay with it until it transformed into a Metapod or its companions emerged from their shells. Several days later the latter occurred, Butterfree after Butterfree emerging into the bright afternoon sunlight. Unfortunately, the newly evolved Butterfrees appeared to have minimal attachment toward their Caterpie friend. The few that did remember him gave only a glance or a goodbye before flying off. Seeing the Caterpie grow increasingly depressed with each departing Butterfree, Daiyu offered to bring the wild Pokemon with him on his journeys--at least until it evolved to its final stage. The Caterpie accepted. Even after completing its evolution chain, however, Cori chose to remain with Daiyu.

Though kind and concerned for his friends, Cori may be a little clingy. When outside his Pokeball, he tends to remain within sight of Daiyu or even hold on to his trainer's back. Eventually Daiyu grew accustomed to the extra 70lbs as well as Cori's random appearances from his Pokeball home "just to be sure everyone is still here." Fortunately, the Butterfree's fear of being alone does not accompany a tendency toward cowardice in battle. Despite how easily he becomes nervous, Cori is surprisingly resilient in body and mind--particularly when fighting for someone he cares about.

    Name: Sphene
    Species: Lanturn
    Gender: Male
Personality/History: After Lin's death, Daiyu began to look after her Pokemon. The task was a difficult one for a child, and though he would not admit it, both he and the Pokemon may have benefited once Daiyu's father reluctantly began to sell the Pokemon to other breeders. Sphene, who had been with Lin since she was a trainer, could not be sold due to the birthmark on his head that disqualified him as a breeding possibility. When Daiyu ran away from home, he brought Sphene with him.

Though he may appear a little slow at times, Sphene is a cheerful and encouraging individual who sincerely cares for others. As the oldest member of Daiyu's team, one of his greatest assets in battle and in life is his experience. Apart from the realm of normal intelligence, Sphene possesses an alternate understanding of the world that still surprises his trainer. Due to their calm personalities, Sphene and Amber tend to work well together in team fights.

    Name: Ivory
    Species: Cubone
    Gender: Female
Personality/History: While traveling a mountain path near Lavender Town, Daiyu heard a mournful cry pierce the pale twilight. Following the grief-filled sounds, the trainer found a young Cubone crying alone. When Daiyu attempted to approach the wild Pokemon, it suddenly quieted and gazed at him. Then, picking up its bone club from the ground, it turned to flee. Two factors prevented the Cubone's escape from being successful: The first was that before long it could not prevent itself from crying again, which caused it to be easy to track. The second was that it tripped, which made tracking even easier. Once he had endured the ground type's flailing strikes, Daiyu was somehow able to quiet her. With Amber's soft fur as a bed and Daiyu sitting beside her, the Cubone eventually fell asleep. When the Cubone awoke the next morning, she discovered a handful of berries and a set of tracks left by her companions. She made full use of both. For the first few days, Daiyu was reluctant to accept the following wild Pokemon as a member of his team. But with a little prodding from Amber, he decided that carrying the Cubone in a Pokeball was at least more efficient than wondering where she would appear next. The choice to accept Ivory was regretted on multiple occasions since the young creature wept and lamented quite often in the early months. Fortunately, Daiyu's other Pokemon were more patient than he was, and Ivory has now become notably stronger and more determined than she once was.

Of Daiyu's Pokemon, Ivory is likely the one most similar to her trainer. Having lost her mother at a young age, she experienced a period of bitter grieving and never fully recovered. Thus, though she has become rather proficient in combat, some part of her mental state has prevented her from evolving. After learning from Amber about Daiyu's past, Ivory became even more attached to her trainer than she once was. And despite some initial reticence on Daiyu's part, the two have become decidedly loyal to one another. Ivory is the most violent Pokemon on Daiyu's team; and while not quite bellicose, she is unafraid of trying almost any foe.

Personality: On the surface, Daiyu's personality seems consistent and easy to read. However well or poorly others may think of him, he does not appear to care much--providing their impressions of him are accurate. As for what he thinks of others, the response most who have met him would give is "Very little." Though careful in forming his opinions about situations, once Daiyu has decided upon something, he tends to be rather stubborn about maintaining that opinion. On the rare occasion he does decide to speak to others, Daiyu generally has a specific purpose and/or particular idea he feels should be stated. Otherwise, he would prefer to avoid idle chatter when possible.

Despite his cold surface, Daiyu has considerable inner turmoil that he experiences--particularly when interacting with others. At one point, he almost desperately sought the approval of others. But finding that the responses were not worth the effort, he essentially gave up trying. Past experiences have forced him to grow up too fast, leaving the unattended portions of his personality less mature than those of others his age. Perhaps the area most obvious to others is that of his socialization skills (or lack thereof). For example, when interacting with others, he does not understand the value or purpose of the "How are you?" exchange that precedes the meat of a conversation. Thus, he omits it. Often he also speaks more bluntly than he believes he does. In short, his lack of "idle chatter" is caused by the fact that he is simply incapable of it. Consequently, though Daiyu does make an honest effort to at least be polite to others--whatever he may think of them--he usually fails. Another aspect of mental immaturity that plagues Daiyu is that of emotional regulation. The majority of the time, he seems quite controlled and calm. Unfortunately, since he is more accustomed to not having or simply suppressing his emotions, Daiyu is not exactly sure what to do once an emotion does express itself. Most often, these emotional breaks appear in the form of temper flares.

Due to his experience caring for his mother's Pokemon, Daiyu is able to interact with--or at least avoid angering--them slightly more effectively than with people.

History: In a small home/shop outside Celadon City, Daiyu was born and raised. His mother was a Pokemon breeder, and his father was a gem specialist who had sold his mother a Water Stone at their first meeting. Though his mother, Lin, was his primary caregiver, Daiyu still had a decent relationship with his father--Rou. From each of his parents, the child learned about their respective vocations. And though a fair amount of that information is now lost to Daiyu, the memories of those times remain valuable to him. When he was eight years old, Daiyu's mother left on a business trip to meet a potential customer. She never returned. Her plane had crashed, and everyone on board had died.

Following this event, the relationship between Daiyu and his father grew increasingly awkward until it seemed hardly existent. With each individual absorbed in his own grief, each failed to notice the pain of the other--the loneliness and fear Daiyu felt, and the agonizing resemblance to Lin seen by Rou every time he looked at his son. Left, in various senses, to raise himself, the boy learned independence and decision-making skills early on. When Daiyu was ten, his father met and began to date another woman. When the youth was eleven, the couple married. Resentful and shaken, Daiyu tolerated this only a few months before deciding to run away. Taking with himself Amber and one of his mother's Pokemon, he obtained a trainer's license and began to wander the Kanto region, searching for a place to be. Lately Daiyu's father has become increasingly close to finding him, and the trainer has decided that Kanto is no longer an acceptable place to remain at. Consequently, he has bought a ticket to the SS Libra so he can escape to Johto.

    RP Sample:

"Please try to understand, Son . . ."

"Don't call me that!" Daiyu snapped. "You lost that right years ago."

A slight pain appeared in Rou's otherwise lifeless eyes. He averted his gaze and said nothing but seemed to be searching for suitable words.

"The same as always," Daiyu thought bitterly. That look on your face . . . Do you even care? The child stared at the ground. "I . . . I don't like her," Daiyu said, breaking a long moment of awkward silence. "She'll want to use Mom's things and tell me what to do like she was my real mom."

"If you'd give her a chance, you'd see she isn't that bad. I miss Lin, too, but we need to learn to move on."

"Move on . . .?" Daiyu murmured. Liar. You're always laughing around that lady, but you hardly even look at me. And every time you talk, you always take her side. Always. You don't miss Mom. And you don't care what I think. It's like . . .

Ruo hesitantly placed a hand on his son's shoulder. "Please, Daiyu. At least talk to her?"

"I don't care." The boy batted the hand away as though its touch made him feel sick. When he spoke again, his voice was trembling. "I don't care . . . I don't care if you don't love Mom anymore!" He whirled about and dashed down the hall. Though Daiyu knew his father was calling out behind him, he could not discern the words over the pounding of his heart.

    ---------

Sky. Cotton-ball clouds were floating in a bright sky of pale blue. Small figures circled in the air--maybe migrating Wingulls, judging by their calls. Daiyu sat up slowly, placing a hand to his forehead while allowing his mind to register the waking world. He was on one of the docks belonging to the seaside city of Vermillion, not at Celadon . . . not at the place that was once his home. Just a dream, huh? Looking down, the youth noticed Amber curled up by his side. He gently stroked her back, causing her to stir. The Flareon yawned sleepily as her ears twitched. Even out here, after all this time, those memories still haven't gone away. I won't risk going back.

  • Introducing the foul-mouthed, sadistic psychopath of a Drake Vermeer.
I hope no one gets too offended by his language.
Or his being, for that matter.

    `Name: Drake Vermeer
    Gender: Male
    Age: 16

Physical Description: Drake is… Charming in his way. He's like a Venus Fly Trap, with its beautiful red leaves, gorgeous really, until it snaps shut and eats you. He is tall, light but still handsome, with his 1m92 and healthy tan. His hair is a straw-blonde and waves around his head, being longest in the back where grows half-way down his neck. He has messy bangs where his hair is shortest, and these are always swept to the side.

Drake is definitely confident, cocky and absolutely crazy. His eyes are very cold blue-grey, cold in both colour and expression. Most of the time his expression is cocky, or even snarky. Or just a creepy grin. When he starts his creepy chuckles is when you run, seriously though, he will hurt you. And he will do this smiling.
Good thing Drake isn't all too bloodthirsty all of the time. He has a brain, and knows that even though he's a sadist, killing will land him in prison.
    Drake does not like prison.

Clothing-wise Drake wears an ordinary prep-school uniform. Reason for this: He was going back to prep-school. Well, prep-school for troubles teens that is. This uniform consists of dark, dark blue blazer and trousers. Under this is a fancy grey vest below this one would find a white blouse. His feet are engulfed in black sneakers, with a neon-green Nike sign on each of them.

Other Info: Drake's a sadist. It's as plain as that. There's a reason he's going to a school for crazy kids, he has some serious problems.
Also, he's Dutch. Foreign languages are spoken.

    Pokemon Team:

    – Thanos – Haunter – Male.
Thanos is just as much a sadist as Drake is. Needless to say, Thanos and Drake get along just fine. This does not mean he doesn't get any hell from Drake, just less than the others do. He's all into deceiving, and he hates normal Pokémon with a burning passion. This is most likely because most of his moves are ineffective. No matter that theirs are also, he just doesn't like them. This also means he goes out of his way to target them. One might seriously doubt his logic, but either way, he's still an enemy to be cautioned with. Drake found Haunter through something that might only be described as 'like will find like.' Drake saw the Pokémon, felt an instant connection paired with a must-have feeling, and pursued the Pokémon. The Haunter itself had no problem joining the young sadist, together they would do great things. Great meaning causing lots of innocents pain. Oh the joys.

    – Inferi – Solrock – Genderless.

Inferi was caught by Drake in a cave near the school. Being genderless, it is more feminine than masculine, but it's powerful special-stat caught Drake's attention. Coupled with the rarity of this species in the area sparked up Drake's collectors-instinct and he simply had to catch it.
Inferi is by far the most sane of the bunch. It occasionally refuses to do what Drake wants it to do, and, being made of rock, Drake's little torture methods do little to it. It's a frequent victim to its trainer's harassment, but it simply takes it without emotion. This frustrates Drake to no end, and he usually ends up directing the rest of his anger toward Morsmordre.

    – Morsmordre – Houndoom – female.
Morsmordre is very protective of Drake, something that Drake himself isn't very patient with. She has plenty of nicknames, one of them very fittingly being *****. She does everything Drake asks her to do, no matter how cruel, almost without a second thought. She is the one who gets the most from Drake's anger, and the one who takes it the worst. She's the strongest fighter on the team, being determined and having an endurance that is nearly unlimited. She'd do anything to get Drake's approval, literally, anything. Morsmordre was Drake's first Pokémon.

    Intro Post:

    "Godverdomme"

Drake Vermeer was not happy. He was standing in the Vermilion harbor, between all sorts of ugly and stinking people waiting for a boat to come and take him to the asylum again. He was not happy at all. The day might be bright, but Drake was ready to hurt the sun if he could. Oh, how he would love to hurt anyone.

His father had completely and totally overreacted about his doings, sending him back to that place. After he had so carefully been on the down-low, pretending to be a good little boy, to have suppressed his 'tendencies.'

It was all for nothing now, after that accident. It's not like he would have meant anything with it. Drake was only going to threaten her a bit. After all, the ***** had invaded his life!

It all began when he returned home from St. Bernhard Academy, aka Bernhard's asylum, where 'troubled' youth gathered to get better under the close eyes of a dozen or so psychiatrists. He had gotten there in the first place because he had hung the neighbors Glameow on the wall and fired darts at the animal. Honestly, only a couple had hit, and not even on the vital points! Drake had just wanted to scare the animal, it was so ugly and intent on staring at him all day. Stupid cat.

Either way, that had been 5 years ago, and finally his father had decided that he did not have to finish his last years at the Academy, and instead spent it at home in the mansion. Yes. Drake was a rich kid, if you had a problem with it, Drake had no problem making you apologize. No problem at all.

Either way, he had gotten home to find this ***** living in his house, his presumed step mother. He hadn't heard anything about a step mother. He had tolerated the **** for a little while, but she was such an annoying woman. Kept trying to mother him like some mother****ing baby. He hadn't meant anything, he'd just wanted to set her straight, get her to listen to him and go by his rules. His rules being, shut up and do as he said.

He had taken a gun, just a small hand gun, and gone toward her room. Unfortunately one of the maids witnessed him climbing the stairs and had gotten his dad involved. His dad completely overreacted about everything, yelled at him and wouldn't listen while Drake explained the horror that the woman really was.

Now he was being shipped off to the hellhouse again, to pretend he was a good boy and to see if he'd ever get out. It was lucky that the cops never got involved, that was for sure.

And as if matters weren't bad enough, the docks really, really smelled. Probably just poor people with no money to bathe. Damned bastards. It was so tempted just to get his switchblade out of his pocket and find some stray to mangle. Oh god how he would like to. Just to smell the fear of the ragged anima. He would use Morsmordre to get him the Pokémon, and then he would torture it, see and smell the fear as the animal searched for a way out that wasn't there. Drake shook the image out of his head, he was in enough trouble.

On the positive side, his collection should still be there. While Drake had been pretending to have overcome his violent temptations, behind the backs of the staff he had terrorized the students. Well, maybe Bernhard's Asylum wasn't that bad a place to be. At least he could have his fun. Except that he was now marked as anti-social now, because none of the students would go near him.

He was not anti-social! Not anti-social at all. In fact, he loved the company very much.

But Drake would put on his fake face, he would act nice and civil, he would find things to do, parts to collect. He would see it through. And when the time came for his graduation, he would do so gracefully. And then the world would see the best of him. Yes, he would almost hope for something to happen so that this chance came sooner. Almost…

  • Name: Clovis Berlits Archlin

    Gender: Male

    Age: 15

Physical Description: Clovis has a rather odd appearance that both interests, and confuses people. Firstly his features are generally smooth, somewhat gentle, they look soft to the touch. Along with that his face makes him look timid, but also kind which has some truth to it. His height is about average, perhaps a little bit short, about five foot five gives or takes a few inches. He's also quite slender, lacking a majority of fat or muscle. Although his legs and to a lesser degree his arms, shows that through his travels he has at least stayed in shape. Though this is hardly noticeable unless said limbs are bare. His hair is a pale shade of white, an unusual coloring, but not unheard of. (In the pokemon world at least) Along with that it also mange's to look both wild and well kept it the same time, having long bangs parted away from his eye, a long with a slight point at the top. Along with that his eyes are a shape, almost soul piercing shade of yellow. While his appearance is quite bold and striking, Clovis also has some slight trouble with his looks. Often do to his slender frame and over all physical features, he's often mistake for a girl, which can become tiring at times.

His clothing certainly doesn't help his situation, though his outfit isn't too feminine, it doesn't in anyway make him like manly, not that he cares. His first layer consisted of a light blue sort of jacket/shirt mix, with two fuzzy yellow pompoms along the collar. There's also a yellow jig jag in the middle that goes around the whole shirt. It has a verity of pockets, the two largest ones in the middle at the bottom of the jacket. Under his jacket he wears a simple long sleeve black shirt with a large collar reach out from under the jacket. The sleeves themselves may be a bit too long, reach to above the wrist when, though there also wide as not to constrict movement of the hands. He also wears Sandy brown pants, while comfortable, they physically resemble dress pants. As far as foot wear goes Clovis keeps it rather simple with a pair of comfortable black running shoes with some red trim. Along with the basics, Clovis has a few accessories, including a silver collar with a blue rectangle on the front bearing the Silph Co Emblem on it. Along with that on his right wrist he wears a gold bracelet with a Gracidea pendent on it.

    Pokemon Team:

    Spr_4h_196.png
    Sol (Male, Espeon)
Sol no doubt has a strong bond with Clovis, not only being his first pokemon, but also having a type of psychic link. He's usually the one to lead the pack as it were, obviously having a great deal of seniority. And for good reason, when it comes to swift powerful attacks he's called upon first. Though his loyalty knows know bounds he is also both vain, and a bit overly protective. Also despite how most Espeons love to bask in the sun, he prefers the shade, and especially the moonlight, this has lead many people to think his evolution to be a bit of a fluke.

    Spr_4d_226.png
Rama (Female, Mantine) One of Clovis's pride and joy, Rama is the only pokemon on his team that he ha breed personally. As such they've been together since her birth, and thus have a strong bond. Though she isn't against battling, Rama is very easy going, and usually likes to relax until she's needed, though a little time outside the pokeball is always appreciated by her.

    Spr_4h_095.png
Orre (Male, Onyx) While not the first on his team, physically compared to the others he is the oldest pokemon he has traveling with him. It's also one of the more battle hardy, generally always up for a battle. Still despite his rough nature if Clovis pets his head in just the right spot he turns to butter, showing a kind heart at his old rocky core.

    Spr_4p_173.png
Navi (Female, Cleffa) Still a very young pokemon, Navi is bit odd. Despite her species being a generally gentle and skittish pokemon, she's quite head strong, and some would say even aggressive, to the point were she even scares people. Though that's not to say she's not sweet, her appearance is just deceiving, while well meaning at heart her temper is simply strong and easy to spark.
    _
Personality: Clovis can be a bit of a hard person to read, at the very least when first meeting him. Though he may now be able to speak, through habit alone Clovis has become a very physical person, the whole "Actions are louder than words" bits. As such he's not shy about hugging people, showing affection, hitting them lightly, flicking there nose, just obvious things to show how he feels.

Though he is not afraid to be aggressive, he is over all a kind person, caring and sweet. Still sometimes it maybe be better not for him to speak, as he often puts his foot in his mouth. At times he can be overly honest; he's the type to respond to "Dose this dress make me look fat?" With "Well…. Yah, a bit, maybe you should try the green one?" He means well, but because of his somewhat sheltered life, along with his lack of speech made him a bit unusual.

He can also be shy, not quite sure how to interact with people properly, seeming a bit awkward. Though you wouldn't know it from looking at him, but he can be a bit deceptive. Do to his appearance he looks a bit weak and defenseless, and sometimes even female. He will sometimes play on this, getting him out of tight situation, also showing that he can be a bit dark and crafty.

While he may not know how to deal with people at times, he is very good with pokemon. He tends to get close to pokemon very quickly, and thinks of them just as highly as any person, sometimes even more so. As such one could say it feels him with a deep rage when the abused, neglected, or taken for granted (As such he finds himself supporting PCP3 as it preserves there habitat)

Clovis also loves the simple joys in life. While many children in his situation take part ion the finer things. But he is happy enough simply taking a nap under a tree, dancing, reading, writing, poetry. He's more or less just simply amused. And though he doesn't like seeing his pokemon getting hurt, he naturally enjoys a good battle, as almost all pokemon do themselves. And though he tries to put on a gentle, or strong face, he can be a bit sensitive at times.

History: Born into a generally wealthy family, while still also managing to have loving, and emotionally available parents, Clovis seemed to hit the jackpot from the moment he was conceived. And while he himself still thinks he's very lucky, other may disagree with this statement for rather obvious reasons. While he may think rather little of it, Clovis was born with a birth defect. He was born mute, not having the ability to speak. During his earlier years as a young child, this was quite distressing for both himself and his parents. But as time went on they both learned to cope, it wasn't ideal, this was very true, but it could have been far worse after all. The main draw back to being a mute, is it always left Clovis a bit self conscious around children his own age. And thus he wasn't able to develop what some would call proper people skills. But there was a bright side. The Archlin's encouraged the near by pokemon to visit there estate, which gave Clovis many chances to interact with them. With pokemon it didn't matter that he couldn't speak, in fact he always found it brought him closer to pokemon.

One day, while he was still young, Clovis's parents thought it would help there son to have a pokemon of his own. They were discussing the best way to go about this while visiting a good friend of theirs . While the grown ups talk about uninteresting things, Clovis was playing in the garden. It was there he found an Eevee, a playful one at that. So thus the two enjoyed each others company, but thing took an interesting turn. Clovis started playing fetch with an odd looking black ball he had found in the mansion. Without out even meaning to, Clovis managed to capture the Eevee with a Luxury Ball. His parents were very pleased with this, and thought it would work out perfectly; Eevee's were rather common as far as pet pokemon went after all.

Well between the ball he used and Clovis's loving nature it didn't take long for the eevee to evolve. One sunny day at Hotel Grand Lake resort, Clovis was doing his best to battle with his Eevee, the waiter being nice enough to give him a match. But naturally being a mute it was a very difficult thing to do. Still the little Eevee was able to beat a pokemon or two on its own merits when it was shrouded in white light and evolved into Espeon. This opened whole new doors for the two, the language barrier of sorts being shattered in mere seconds thanks to the Espeon's psychic abilities, allowing him to read Clovis's mind. Soon he was even able to name the Espeon, the pokemon from then on know as Sol. It didn't take long for them to become Seven Stars Restaurant regulars.

As time passed, and there link grew stronger Clovis started to see strange effect. He was hearing thing, even when no one was talking. With Sol's help and a verity of effort he was even able to telepathically talk to his parents. Seeing this as a wonderful development Clovis's parents spent no expense in exploring this window of opportunity. They got in contact with Psychic exports, they saying he has some telekinetic abilities, unlocked through his bond with his psychic pokemon, as it often happened. But it wasn't very strong, and Clovis found it hard to telepathically speak. So the Archlin's decided they would find away to ease this. One very generous grant to Silph Co later and Clovis has a special communication collar specifically in tune with his brain waves.

Now able to properly communicate, shyly, Clovis voiced his desires to his parents. Now that he could speak to pokemon and people alike Clovis want to explore the world on his own, or rather with his pokemon. Though they had bit of a hard time letting go, he was of the right age, and they had to admit it would be good for him. So thus Clovis left home, like so many boys and girls before him. While most people have a very exact goal, Clovis more or less wanted to travel and try just about everything, traveling was the thing he really wanted to do. Though he spent most of his time exploring Sinnoh from head to toe, he also enjoyed visiting other regions.

Through his travels he's caught quite a few pokemon, most of them ending up either within the pokebox storage system, or around the Archlin estate. He's obtained quite a few GYM badges from multiple regions, but never a full set. He's also entered a contest or two but he didn't really take to it, only having one ribbon of his own. Though he also found himself spending a lot of time in Solaceon Town, he found he was pretty good at caring for both eggs and baby pokemon. He's even givin breeding advice to others, and volunteered at a few daycares from time to time, breeding is after all, how hey obtained Rama. Though he has plenty of pokemon, his current team are more or less memento's from some of his favorite trips. Orre was caught on a training trip to Iron Island. While Navi was found as an Egg left behind by a group of Clefairy's after Clovis spooked them as they did the tradition lunar dance at Mt Moon.

Though he's had many noteworthy trips one of his favorites was north of Floaroma Town. It was there where he met a legendary pokemon a rare and wonderful experience for any trainer. He was lucky enough to meet Shaymin on a very nice day were he was feeling rather cheerful, and naturally, grateful. The two had a nice time with one another, Clovis even getting the little plant hedgehog a hug, causing the flowers on its back to go into bloom. As the day was nearing an end, Shaymin was forced to leave, touching a Gracidea, shifting into Sky Forme and flying off before the sun set. As a keepsake to remember this, Clovis bought a Gracidea charm bracelet from Floaroma, one of his most prized positions.

Clovis has grown over the years, but his love for travel has remained stronger then ever, thus how he ended up on the SS Libra. He honestly has no idea what's about to happen to him and the other passengers. What will happen, how this will effect him, and whether he'll come out of this for the better are all questions that for now remain to be answered.

    RP Sample:

Clovis let out a relaxed exhale as hey rested his head on a rather comfortable tree, Sol relaxing by his side, tails twitching lightly. 'It's a great day isn't it Sol?' He telepathically said to his pokemon. Though he could use his communication collar, he often prefers to talk to his pokemon more directly, despite the strain it can put on him. 'Yes, it truly is, and this tree provides the perfect amount of shade.' The Espeon replied as Cloves pet him lightly, the pokemon nuzzling him in return, making him giggle a bit. Clovis couldn't help but smile as the warm summer breeze swept over him as he started to whistle. 'I know I don't tell you this enough, but thank you Sol, you've really done a lot for me, you know that you little purple thing' Clovis snickered silently the pokemon rolling his eyes. 'Oh would you stop it? Were partners, I could ask for a better trainer, even that ball you caught me in is extremely comfortable.' Sol lightly smiled and pawed at the boy lightly.

'Well… That's really do to the ball that was laying around the mansion, that Sooth Bell the maid gave me was a sweet gesture too, I can see why so many pokemon live there' He replied, enjoying there telepathic of conversation, when Clovis heard something, odd sounding rustling. He got to his feet, placing two fingers on the rectangle of his collar, activating it. "Hello? Is anyone there?" He asked, removing his finger after looking around.

He didn't see anyone, though there was something a bit unusual. A little odd bush, completely surrounded by flowers. 'Dose that look… I bit odd to you?' He asked Sol, his mouth agape, the cat like pokemon nodding as they stretched and slowly walk over. Clovis bent down, being carful not to step on the flowers as he looks closely at the bush. Also very curious Sol pawed at it lightly, causing it to meep and run. 'What the…' He thought as he pointed at it, Sol instantly raising it in the air.

The young boy walked up to the floating bush as it whined a bit, flailing around. It didn't take long for him to identify it as a pokemon, a rather distressed one at that. He then reach into it's mind to speak to it 'Please, quite down, it's okay. ' He communicated, reaching into the psychic field, and hold the odd looking hedgehog to his chest. As he hugged it. the flowers on the creature back went into bloom, and it sort of cooed in a cheerful manner.Clover was astonished by this sight and starts petting it lightly. 'See? It's okay.' He kept showing the little creature affection, stoking it's leafy fur as Sol smiled lightly. Clovis kept the little pokemon for a few hours, simply petting and playing with it, and all the while having a great time. It was when the hours started to grow late that the pokemon hopped out of his arms sniffing at the ground. Clovis looked on, bewildered, until it found a single pink flower, sticking its head to it.

Suddenly, the pokemon changed, glowed, looking as if it was evolving. It's got a bit bigger, and went from looking like some type of hedgehog, to a dog, or perhaps a reindeer of sorts. It was then flowers began to spread all across the field, as far as the eye could see, as it started to fly around. It then went right up to Clovis, looking at him eye to eye, and gave him a nuzzle, before flying of into the distance. Clovis waved it off, instantly understand it had to go. He later found out he had just encountered a legendary pokemon, a Shaymin, he then knew he would remember this day for a long time to come

Jazmine Marie: Accepted b'awww I love the Ma and Pa thing and I like her description; very in-depth and realistic. I grew up partially on a farm and that pitching hay for Tauros about made my life amazingly awesome. XD; So yeah, you're most definitely in.

Leprachaun: Pending Your Pokemon Descriptions are light years too short. You don't need to include sprites but I need more than just two sentences. I also dislike how choppy your intro is. I understand being up late and working on it in different intervals but you really should clean it up a bit. I see potential but not a finished product. :/

Kogenta: Pending Kogenta, you live! *flying hug o doom* <3333 Long time no see friend! Let me know when you finish up the pokemon information as I see no problems with the rest of your ap. Drache and all that counts for your RP Sample as well as the rest of your app. <3 welcome back.

Leprachaun: Accepted Much much better. :D That was edited quite nicely

Kogenta: Accepted <3~ Very happy to see you around again.

lou dog: Rejected/Declined ...First off, after a punctuation mark like a comma there is a space. There is not a space before a comma. There is not a sandwich comma. Your grammar is, unfortunately, atrocious and it's made your sign up completely unreadable except with a fine tooth comb. On top of that, your history is so short I've got no idea what your character is like beyond the fact that he's got a sick little brother who needs some sort of cure. What you need to do is go back and study a bit of grammar before you invest in the roleplaying world. Try using this OWLS guide to get you started. Read it, obey it, follow it, worship it. You've got a very long way to go before you're ready for roleplays like this; I suggest you read up and practice a bit on the side.

Well, with that, I'm going to be closing sign ups. I'll edit my own sign up in here at some point today or tomorow as well as adding in the starting post. Yoshi is the only one still pending with a chance of getting in because of prior arrangements.

Thank you, one and all, for your interest and I hope if you didn't get in this time that you try again next time. :3

Yoshi? On second thought, I'll go ahead and call you Accepted on the condition you make sure I can see a difference between the Axel here and the Axel in Paralell's rp as I just realized I'm partially recycling as I'm reusing a bit of an old appearance so I can't very well decline you for doing something similar. :>

    Mika's Sign Up

    Name: Aina Adalynn Sagara
    Gender: Female
    Age: 10

Physical Description: Waist length blonde hair so light it could potentially be white and pure, untainted blue eyes are the most stunning features about the child. Lithe limbs, pale skin and dainty little hands and feet, as well as the general doll-like clothing she tends to wear from day to day, make her seem almost breakable and adds to the fact her short stature and weight make her look much younger than she actually is. While the latest six months in the world outside the sheltered forest have added a bit of color to her complextion, she's still almost unnaturally pale. It's been confirmed however, that she does not glow in the dark. As far as clothing goes, she tends to wear something rather frilly but still somewhat moveable. This sort of normal outfit consists of a white intricately baby blue ribbon-fed laced sleeveless corset with an optional elbow to finger arm sock extension, attached at the elbow with the same baby blue ribbon as the corset, that flutters out five or so centimeters past her palms. The bottom half consists of a knee length five tier white frilly skirt. A large baby blue satin ribbon, the tails of which lay past her knees, holds the skirt firmly on her waist to keep it from slipping down. Delicate knee socks, created in the same fashion as her arm socks, fasten just above her knee and the outer sides of both socks are decorated with a thin tiny baby blue ribbon that falls past the blue mary janes with the straps that wind tightly around her ankles to prevent slippage. However, she's found this sort of thing to not always be the most practical to travel in. She has instead replaced the general outfit with something slightly less intricate, one of the more popular options being a white tank top under a pink bunny-eared hoodie and a white knee-length three tier ruffle skirt with a bunny head print layer inbetween the two white ruffles [the ruffles are divided by a layer of matching pink lace] over a pair of white leggings, white socks and a pair of pink shoes in the same style as her blue ones. She has a few more assorted outfits that she interchanges, depending on the weather, but she outright refuses to wear pants.

What's fascinating about Aina's appearance, more than anything else, is the fact that including the white wire glasses with the 1 cm thick lens and the fact that the child is always covered in bandaids and bruises from issues stemming from her poor depth perception, the child does not rip or tear her clothing. It stays pretty much put together thanks to the skill of her mother and subsequently herself as a seamstress and even though the child is damn near blind, she can thread the smallest of needles and repair clothing with ease.

    Pokemon Team:
    dpffa019.png

    Winona the Rattata
When Winona contracted PokeRus, Aina thought the effects and the virus itself would pass in 72 hours. When it was still there a week later, the terrified girl rushed her rodent to the nearest pokemon center, demanding answers. After extensive testing, it was discovered that while the virus had passed, it had done a bit of damage to the tiny rodent's brain, essentially frying a bit of it. The odd personality quirks, like a thirst for gore in a pokemon match or the uncanny thought that it could possibly potentially fly if she jumped from a high enough branch, were there for good. Nurse Joy told Aina to release her rattata, that it wasn't worth the time, but the girl couldn't bear to part with the fuzzy, tho mentally scattered rodent. The fact Winona refuses to eat anything nonmeat in origin and poisons others out of bordem didn't scare her away and because of it, Winona listens almost exclusively to Aina. She's quick to anger and quick to slash and spat at people but she's also quick to curl up in Aina's lap for a long snooze. A cannibal at heart, she's known to drool on some good meat if it goes unclaimed for more than two seconds [which is about two hours in Winona-time] and she's very quick to bound off in search of someone to eat if given that permission to do so. Her nose twitches when she's exceptionally hungry.

    dpmfa083.png

    Meeks the Farfetch'd
Intellectually challenged, Meeks isn't the brightest bird out of the nest. The other pokemon think he was dropped on his head as a newborn hatchling but all in all, it can take him awhile to figure things out. One thing he was not slow, in anyway shape or form, in figuring out was ways to both torment and humiliate Winona the Rattata. For some odd reason, the bird never forgot Poison Jab and likes to poison pokemon then point the leek at the rabid Rattata who is notably too hyper with its toxic spams. This causes the rodent to hiss and snarl and attack him but Meeks, being clever when he wants to be, keeps the thing at bay with his mighty leek. Bite and gnaw as it might, the Rattata thus far has been unable to break the mighty leek. To some, this may make this bird seem like a bit of a genius. However, spray a window with a Windex like product and the supposed genius will walk, fly or waltz right into it.

    dpffa421.png

    Yui the Cherrim
A baby cherrim that is physically terrified of flowers, it will start bawling at the sight of one. Skittish of almost anything that moves, it tends to hide behind the nearest non-scary thing and often scares itself further when it realizes the thing it's hiding behind isn't Aina. Sweet and gentle, when she's comfortable with her surroundings, she's by far the most affectionate of Aina's pokemon. She prefers to be in the safe confinement of her Premier Ball, but when she's out, she's almost always attached in same way to Aina [the girl's shadow included] until she talks her trainer into letting her crawl back into her pokeball for some good old fashioned hermit living.

    dpmfa248.png

    Voltaire the Tyranitar
Originally her mother's pokemon, Voltaire's main job is to act as a mount of sorts for the small child and make sure she isn't trampled by some sort of monster or kidnapped by any pervert for the duration of their time together. He's the only one who can stop the others from bickering without a fight of any sort. A gentle old soul, he doesn't stand for stupidity and shields his young mistress as much as he can from the disgusting parts of the world. His scarred outer shell shows his age, worn but sturdy like an old piece of armor. His eyes, still as strong as the day he hatched, are a deep golden hue and twinkle when Voltaire's up to the same old tricks he used to torment others [for fun of course] in his younger days. All and all, he's the pokemon Aina's closest with. She doesn't use him much in battle so when he's called, it's normally because the child is distressed enough to need him without any sort of exception. Fiercely loyal, his emotions are channeled in such events and he becomes a wicked force to be reckoned with. Strangely, it seems as though he has a sort of agreement with the girl and the few times he's called into battle, Aina does not have to deal with obedience problems.

    Freid the Altaria
Freid is a laid back sort of bird who enjoys watching the drama of his family explode around him. He's the voice of reason, the good cop to Voltaire's bad cop style of parenting, and he takes his job seriously when it suits him. He'd much rather be sleeping than fighting but if his mistress calls, he shall obey. He's very intent on protecting her wishes, even those she doesn't always express outloud. He's content to be a fluffy pillow so the two, trainer and pokemon, can snuggle under the clouds for a gentle calm afternoon. He's very low-key and doesn't like to angry. Very mellow, he's a snuggler.

    Kraken the Octillary
He plays poker. He shoots ink at people. He's a bit of a butt. He's like a second mother to Aina. Enough said.

    Intro Post: Dear Diary

They've told me, since I was very very small, that I was born for a purpose and that when I was older, I would fufill that purpose by becoming the shrine keeper for Celebi's shrine in Ilex Forest. Mama says that all babies start up in the sky, as pieces of blue, and when we fall down in the rain, we're put into pregnant ladies, the souls of the children within their wombs sent from heaven. I don't really know if I believe in that cuz it sounds kinda silly but maybe. I dunno, maybe when I'm bigger I'll understand more of it? My name is Aina. I'm ten years old, I'm from Azalea Town and one day, Celebi's shrine is going to be my responsibility. I have a Mama and a Papa and Bugsy says that I used to have a big sister. Mama and Papa don't talk about her so maybe that means she's part of the blue? I don't know. It'd be nice if I could've met her though…. Oh well, it's not like I'm lonely! We have a village school, I've got two very close friends there, and there's always places to explore. I think, that while it would've been nice to have a big sister to show me around, that I'm okay without her. I have my friends, and I have my duty to learn about, you know? It's alright tho, really because with my friends, both my pokemon friends and my human friends, by my side, I'm never alone. Even when I tripped and broke a hole into the brand new wall on the side of the gym, they didn't leave me. Pretty cool, huh?

To be honest, I didn't have any bad childhood or anything. I played with my Freid, who was just a cute little Swablu way back when, and the kids in the village and I never thought about leaving or about the world around me. I didn't think about much of anything until my tenth birthday. My grandma showed up at my school and took me to our home just outside the forest in almost absolute silence. Nobody told me what was going on and I thought I'd done something wrong. It wasn't until I saw Mama that I began to put things together. Ever since I was very very little, I'd been told that I would have to go on a journey to prove my worth to become one of the guardians of Celebi's shrine. Just like that, I was being sent out with just Freid and Mama's Voltaire to protect me to get gym badges and become stronger. Mama gave me a backpack with some basic stuff in it and told me to head north to Goldenrod and to take the train to Kanto. To be honest… I was scared to go but I knew it was my duty. I didn't want to leave my friends or family, but it wasn't my choice to make. Besides, I had Volty with me. I've never been very good at running for long periods of time [Mama says it's because I'm so small] so he carried me whenever I was tired and made sure I was safe when I slept. We weren't alone, me Volty and Freid, for very long at all. Winona, Meeks, Yui and now Kraken, they've all joined our team. It's just like being back home. I'm surrounded by all my friends."

The small child pulled away from her diary at the little desk and curled up onto the bed with her slumbering night mode cherrim, stroking the soft velvet petals, her young little smile spreading across her pale white skin in the process. Ships were so much more fun with friends! Stretching out beside the pokemon, she winced slightly, running a bruise along the heavy comforter. Stupid bucket. How was she supposed to see it there? It wasn't like it was apparent or anything, it was just a mean bucket and it'd given her quite a nasty mark on her leg adding to the other two from last week when she tripped in the tall grass and fell on the Nidoran. Stupid Nidoran. It was cute tho… so it wasn't all that thing's fault. In fact, Aina wasn't sure it was that thing's fault at all. She'd fallen on it, remember? What if she'd hurt it? In all of her whining about her latest owie, had she checked the poor thing? She couldn't remember. At the memory, Aina flinched, pressing her hands together with a brief little prayer, "Sorry Nehneh, wherever you are, I didn't mean to fall on you I'm sorry!" Squeaking, she flailed back and forth on the bed. This ride was boring but she should probably sleep before the boat arrived.

This was the first time in almost a year she was back in Johto and soon she'd be heading to see Mama. She blushed, snuggling into her pillow.

    Mama… I'm coming home Mama!

Name: James Grady. He wants people to call him 'Hunter' but it's never really caught on.

    Gender: Male.

    Age: Sixteen.

Physical Description: James has been described as a ghost once too often for his liking. His skin is whitely pale; some even go as far to say he's transparent. This irritates him, but he doesn't say anything. His sandy coloured hair clashes terribly with his green eyes, as well as his skin, and most agree that he's not the most good looking guy in the world. He's been known to try and straighten his hair because it tends to go all over the place, and when that he failed, he gave gelling it up a shot. That had disasterous consequences too as his hair ended up looking like Brock's, the Gym Leader from Pewter City. Maybe it looks okay on the awesome trainer, but it looked like James had just fallen out of a washing machine. He's really skinny as well. His family used to jokingly say he was anorexic, but stopped when they realised he was slowly believing that. He tends to bit his lips a lot when he's nervous, which has resulted in them constantly bleeding or looking really badly chapped.

He's not that tall for a sixteen year old, either. In fact, he has to stand on a chair to meet his younger brother in height, who's about a head taller than him. Also, he's thirteen. He's the size of that radiator on the wall multiplied by three. And if you're sixteen and you're ten centimetres smaller than that, you're short. Really, his appearance isn't what makes people give him attention.

Most would agree that if you're that bad when it comes to natural looks, you'd do your best to put on the right sort of clothes. He fails at this task too. He tries to make himself look like one of those skater kids from Slateport City, but he just ends up looking like a wannabe. His denim jeans are tucked into his socks, and his hoody is two times too big for him. This is not the way to dress when you're skating. Or, in James' case, trying to skate. But at least his orange top doesn't clash with his blue jeans! Oh wait, yes it does.

    Pokemon Team:

    93.png

Haunter. Also known as Bec. Female.

James and Bec have one of the oddest relationships of all time. At least, that what he says it is. After his parents seperated, he ended up living with his mother in Lavender Town. He had been deemed unable to go out on his own Pokémon journey because his parents didn't think he had the confidence or the ability to get by on himself. Three years of living with his mom passed, and nothing eventful happened. He was recognised as the child who wasn't able to care for himself. Then, one night, he was walking through the town. This is something he'd only do when he a fight with his mom. He found a small Ghastly (who appeared to be choking) beside one his neighbour's houses. Instead of bringing to poorly looking Ghastly to a Pokémon Center, however, he brought her back home with him and cared for her for two etire days. By the time his mom found out about what James was secretly doing in his room, he had developed a bond for the Ghost-Type. After begging his mom to let Bec stay, she finally gave in and handed him a Poké Ball. Around this time, Bec was beginning to feel better, and her proper personality began to show.

James made a really big speech to her, explaining how much of a wreck his life was, and how it'd mean so much to him if she'd let him catch her. She nodded (or at least she seemed to be nodding, it was sort of hard to tell seeing as she's a spherical ball of gas) and he rolled the ball. He can still remember how much his heart was beating as the ball rolled and rolled and rolled... and rolled. It didn't stop rolling for a full fifteen minutes, and James wondered if Bec was having cold feet. After he let her out to talk to her, she zoomed around the house and started acting like she was some sort of poltergeist, knocking things down and making strange noises. It was only then did he realise he had captured a very mischevious Pokémon indeed.

Bec really likes James. She's stood up for him before when he's been bullied by his mom. They share something really powerful, and whenever James is questioned about it, he just smiles to himself and says, 'I guess that's what it's like to be a Pokémon trainer.' The newly-evolved Haunter enjoys playing tricks, and she's generally hyper, but she'd do anything for her trainer if she thought it was necessary.

To this day, James still hasn't figured out what Bec was suffering from when he found her. Maybe she wasn't suffering from anything and that was just one of her pranks, who knows?

    8.png

Wartortle. Also known as Dervish. Male.

The history between Dervish and James is very uninteresting in comparison to the history between him and Bec. That's not to say it isn't eventful, just to say that it's the same way a ton of trainers have found their Pokémon. Two years and a half after he found Bec, he had been given permission by his parents to go on a Pokémon journey around Kanto. So long as he called them twice every day to let them know he was okay. After beating Misty, he was making his way towards Vermilion City, when he was mugged by a Team Rocket member on the outskirts of Cerulean City. As the grunt was running away, James fell forward and his Poké Ball fell out of his pocket. Bec hovered out and realised there was something wrong. Ignoring his desperate cries, she flew straight towards the Rocket grunt to show him a lesson. After doing a couple of ghostly-like tricks to scare the grunt, he gave in and threw his bag on the ground, begging Bec to stop messing with his head. After the grunt had run off, James inspected the bag. Not only were his possessions in there, but so was a wallet (which contained the grunt's ID) and another Poké Ball. At first, James thought it was just a random Poké Ball he could use, but as soon as he touched it, it sprang to life to reveal a blue turtle.

James knew instantly that the Wartortle was in bad shape, so he quickly ran back to Cerulean City's Pokémon Center. After explaining what had happened and showing Nurse Joy the ID, she decided that he should keep the Wartortle and leave for Vermilion City at once. James agreed with her, knowing that the Wartortle's injuries had probably came about because of the Rocket grunt, not a Pokémon battle.

Dervish is the only other Pokémon in James' team, and from the way he greets James every morning, it's obvious that he didn't have a problem with being taken away from his old trainer. His battling skills are a tad bit lacking in comparison to Bec's, and James isn't the best trainer in the world, but they are slowly improving together. Unlike Bec, who enjoys a laugh, Dervish is a very serious Pokémon. But that doesn't matter to James, he loves them both the same.

    Intro Post:

James Grady was quietly packing his clothes into his suitcase, jumping off the ground whenever he heard a noise that was out of place. His door opened suddenly, and he fell forward onto his bed, causing his suitcase to fall off, which meant that all of his neatly packed clothes had just fallen out. He was too shocked to be angry though; his heart was beating frantically and even though he had realised who had just walked into his room, the beating rate wasn't calming down any quicker.

'Oh, I'm sorry, dear!' His mom said sympathetically, but she looked like she was pretty pleased with herself for disturbing him. 'Nervous about the trip, are we? I wouldn't worry about it, James! You've proved that you're capable of handling yourself now, even if you didn't do so well in Kanto!'

He turned his back to her, resisting every urge to shout at her. He knew that was what she wanted, just one excuse to make it look like he was too immature to board that ship and start anew on his Pokémon journey. He breathed in deeply, trying to calm himself. 'I-I-I'm okay, m-m-m-mom. Y-You just caught me by s-surprise, that's all.' He felt like punching himself. Why did he have to start stuttering now, of all times?

'Mmhm.' His mother made the sound for no reason in particular, but it was enough to tell him that she was clearly not impressed with his reaction, or the fact that he was leaving Kanto. Not that he didn't know that anyway, of course.

He heard the door shut behind him and breathed out a big sigh of relief. He'd tried to finish packing as soon as possible now. Hopefully his mom wouldn't interrupt him again. Timidly, he picked up the suitcase and put it back on the bed. He checked the clock on his bedside table. 'T-twelve hours,' he muttered to himself. 'T-twelve hours and I'll be out of here f-f-forever.' He wiped his forehead and noticed he was sweating. He needed to calm down. He wasn't going to achieve anything if these nerves didn't go away.

He shook his head and stood up to walk towards the mirror. Looking at his reflection always seemed to calm him down. As soon as he did though, he wished he hadn't. He bit his lip and frowned at himself. 'T-That's the l-l-l-last time I'm e-ever using hair g-g-gel!' He didn't enjoy looking like some sort of mutated blend between Brock and Rick Astley, not at all. Luckily, he was able to see the funny side of it, which helped calm him down. After about five minutes, he felt he was ready to resume packing. He sat down beside his bed and folded one of the shirts that had fallen out of his suitcase when his mom came in. He placed it in his suitcase, only to find that it wouldn't fit in there. James frowned, not believing it. He tried jamming his hand down on his clothes to make more room when suddenly, something shot out from his bag!

James screamed and fell backwards onto the floor, beginning to hyperventilate. 'T-That wasn't c-c-cool, Bec!' He said between gasps to the laughing ball of gas hovering in front of him.

"Your highness, please, it's much too…beneath you to be here." The middle agesd advisor, dressed in a decorated uniform, held his right hand tightly against his sword, his other hand grasping a golden looking pokeball firmly in his white gloved hand, the light armor clinking in the process. "P-please, your highness! This is work for the military, not yourself, oh my dearest princess, have you ever stopped to consider-" the man stopped, panting as he doubled over, visibly exhausted from the run. Looking up with his hands firmly on his thighs to prevent him from keeling over as he quite literally gasped for air, he again attempted to plead with the girl, "Your highness… Please, what would His Majesty think if he saw you?"

The fair-haired girl stood, turning towards the older male, the curls falling out of the bun they had hastily been put into. "These are mine and Papa's people Sir Edward. Mine and Papa's." Her fist tightened against the fabric of her red knee length skirt before she turned, her bright green eyes blazing as she looked out at the chaos around her for a moment. There had been another attack. There were people still running around trying to put out the fires from the raid the night before. Children were crying, trying to find mothers that may or may not still be breathing. It was an absolute disaster and it wasn't the first time it had happened. In the past ten months, since that first incident, more and more villages were ending up like this one. Children left without parents, parents left without children. Crops burned, homes destroyed. The more the young princess looked out over the destruction, the more it made her heart ache. This wasn't something she should be doing, they had relief corps for these things, but the more she sat on Papa's chair, the more she realized she couldn't just sit there. As the acting ruler of Lumaria while Papa was ill… she couldn't just sit there. Turning, she flipped her hair back up into a ponytail, tying back the unruly hair with its equally unruly ribbon and turned to coddle a crying child.

"There there…" she rocked the small child back and forth in her arms, nestling him up against her shoulder to sooth his tears. He wasn't hurt, but it was obvious from just how hard he was crying that he was upset about something. Who wouldn't be? This whole thing was just horrible. The smell of dead bodies…all of it. It was when the child stopped crying however, that the princess pulled back, looking at his little face with curiosity written through her features, "Are you alright now little man?" She smiled, pushing his muddy hair out of his bright blue eyes.

He blinked, not responding for a moment before he simply raised a finger, pointing at the far sky, fear once again coloring his face as the boy began to shake uncontrollably. The princess turned slowly, her own eyes widening as she saw what had scared the small boy so much.

A cloud of billowy black smoke was rising from the direction of the port town not far away from this village. A cloud that shade could never mean anything good.

She gathered the boy to her, hiding his eyes from the sight before she stood, the child firmly nestled in her arms, "Edward."

The man, who at this time, had finally caught up to her gave a sharp salute, "Yes Your Highness?"

"…Find out what that is. Send the secondary unit and summon my personal court for a meeting at the palace, if you wouldn't mind." She gazed around at the ruins of a once happy village and shook her head, "I won't have this repeating itself."

    ----

The room was barely lit, the thick burgundy curtains pulled to block the sun from reaching into the white marble room. Seated up on the black marble throne in a slew of lush burgundy pillows was a small boy, only 10 or 11 years of age, whose legs were too small to even dangle off the edge of the throne and on the lap of this young ruler sat a swinub who was sucking away on a pacifier, sound asleep under her master's tiny pets. When the large doors creaked open and a stream of light trickled in, he flinched, the swinub whining slightly and turning to avoid the obnoxious glare.

A man darted in, dressed in a suit of black armor. After the obligatory salute, he straightened himself up, his voice loud eagar and booming, "Your Highness! We've just received message from the Second Xatu Squadren that there has been a crash landing of sorts on the rocks aligning the Latios Cliffs in the Lumarian Port District just south of the capital. Do you wish us to send out a scout party?"

The boy tilted his head, resting it up on his palm as his elbow dug into the stone statue. "A crash landing? This isn't anything too huge, that port has crashes all the time because of those rocks. What's the big deal?" He yawned, stroking the swinub's head, "Lucy says you're wasting our time at the moment.... Are you sure that's all you've come to report? You've gone and let the light in and it was all for...that? You know, you seem to be an able-bodied man; don't you think you'd be better suited to help in the Internal Affairs Unit?" He smiled, his blinding white teeth glistening in the dim light, "Unless of course you'd rather I have you transferred...elsewhere for wasting my time."

The man gulped, stammering to put together an argument, nervous at the two guards that had suddenly found their way behind him, "B-but your Majesty, your Highness, this sh-ship was no ordinary ship!"

"Oh really? What made it so...special then?"

"...The readings...are like nothing we've ever seen before. Your Majesty, this ship is not a known Lumarian ship nor is it one of ours nor is it one of the neutral trade ships. We've never seen it before."

The boy stood up, the swinub cradled in his arm, "Nothing you've ever seen before? How is that possible?"

    "W-we don't know sir!"

"Interesting... Very well." He turned to one of the servants standing near the doorway, "You! Go tell Liam I want him to send out a scout party at once!"

The solider stammered, nervously looking at the young emperor, "Y-your Majesty, I could deliver that message for you if you would prefer I-"

He held up a hand, "No, you see you seem to have problems saying things correctly the first time. Guards? Would you mind taking this man downstairs? Have Imai look him over, I do believe he needs some help learning to control that tongue of his." With that, the guards hoisted the solider up by the upperarms and the boy himself ignored the anguished and panicked screams and pleadings of this particular solider as he was dragged out of the room, the door shut tightly behind him.

"About time that light was put out." he grumbled, setting the swinub on the throne before struggling up onto it himself". Yawning, he snagged a soft blanket from where he had left it and tucked it over himself and the swinub, smiling as he drifted off to sleep, the screams from the catacombs below echoing all throughout the bleak black hall.

    -----

It was a normal ship ride. The passengers had their tickets taken, their trainers licenses were checked for those traveling without a parent and once everything and everyone had gotten onto the ship, it took off towards Olivine the same as it always had before. The trip started smoothly enough. Trainers got into a battle here or there, food was served without a hitch and old men chatted with sailors about the days before such modern things were available. Stories of the war, stories of the days of old and stories of days when trainers adventured without stopping to repair a pair of running shoes so they didn't have to slow down in their conquest.

    Same old, same old.

Things started to go bad as they turned the corner, sliding up towards Olivine from the Whirl Islands. A storm caused the Captain to make the decision to over correct to the left to go completely around it. Children were on board. This wasn't something he could take lightly. But the radar jammed or something went wrong with it and they ended up in a far worse storm then they'd started in.

The Captain did not see the rocks before it was too late. He scrapped up the underbelly of the boat on the shallow waters and just barely managed to get what at the time seemed to be all of the people on the ship onto the emergency baskets were hooked up to a series of Drifblims. The lifeboats of the future, they had been called when they were introduced, quickly flew out of safety before the ship completely hit the rocks, wedging itself up in between two of the larger ones. As the people flew away, they sighed in relief, having survived what could've been described as a reoccurrence of the St. Anne tragedy some six years before.

It was not until they landed in the fields outside the famous MooMoo farms that they realized they had not all survived.

8 people who had boarded that ship had not gotten onto a Drifblim

    A funeral was held.

    Tears were shed.

    The eight were forgotten.

But the eight did not perish.

For whatever reason, some sleeping, some stealing, some battling, the eight had managed to miss the Drifblim escape pods and were now stranded on this continent, this continent of Alarayne that had been marked by the PCP3 as a safe continent which no man, Pokémon or company could intrude upon without serious consequences.

They had no ways of communicating as there was no signal for a pokegear, pokenav or poketech.

They were quite simply shipwrecked on an island where simply breathing could get them jailed for the rest of their very lives.

And the people on the island, tho the eight had no idea of this, were quickly moving towards the sight of the billowing smoke, to see what had come to their island.

    ----

Aina had been sleeping. She'd been staying up so late lately and she'd been noticing it with the fact that in the past 30 minutes before sleeping she'd run into two walls, tripped over carpet thrice and managed to get herself locked in a closet that she had mistaken for a bathroom. After putting her thick glasses into their respective case, she'd snuggled down under a blanket, her cherrim tucked under her arm and had just been intending on napping for the hour or so it would take to get to Olivine. Then she'd wake up, be rested, have better eyesight and hopefully wouldn't trip as much when she started the long walk back to Azalea.

When she woke up, the girl, who was always disoriented thanks to her blurry vision for a while after she woke up, had put her glasses on, returned her Pokémon to its pokeball and after adjusting her sling backpack, rubbed her eyes and wandered up onto the deck. They weren't moving; they must be docked. Looking down, she wandered forward, to the exit and took a tentative step off.

She sat up with a mouth full of sand and tears in her eyes and turned back towards the boat, which was at a very awkward angle of sorts. She'd only fallen a couple of feet and the sand had cushioned her fall but still. Aina blushed, embarrassed and covered from head to toe in sand. This was a bit of a pickle. A very sandy pickle. Nibbling on her lower lip, she raised a hand to cover her left eye and looked over at the ship and the beach in general, looking for other forms of life while trying to pat the sand out of her soft blonde hair.

    -----

[So yes. Basic idea, get off the ship, gather around on the beach and make a couple contacts with people. Note that while you can't get a communication signal, you can get basic GPS information about where you are. *HINTHINTWINKWINKNUDGENUDGE*]

Vermillion City was bathed in bright morning light, its streets and harbors already filling with bustling people conducting the business of the day. Shop owners called out the superiority and unbeatable prices of their wares, pedestrians greeted familiar faces as they passed by, groups of children cheerfully teased one another or sighed resignedly as they made their way to another day of school, and sailors carried crates of supplies to and from their ships. In a dim alley away from the sun and crowds, a trainer knelt on the cool, cement ground. "Just a bit more . . . there. Try standing now."

A young Oddish carefully tested its weight on its newly-bandaged leg before smiling and twitching its leaves. Daiyu returned a container of medicine and a roll of bandages to his backpack while explaining, "That wrapping will probably last a few days. By then you should have healed enough that you won't need it anymore, though it wouldn't hurt to wash the wound off occasionally at that point." He zipped his pack up and stood. "Also, for better healing, it's ideal that you remain in a forest in environment and get your share of sunlight and clean air." Daiyu sighed, staring down at the Oddish as the wild Pokemon gazed innocently back up at him. "Really, what are you doing in the city? So far from home . . ." The youth shouldered his bag and turned toward the street. "Don't get stepped on."

Finding a stream of people that seemed to be moving in the general direction of the docks, Daiyu joined them. Only a few seconds later, however, he found himself stopped by a small crowd of people that had decided that gawking at some sight was more important than reaching their respective destinations. He leaned to one side, curious to see what had caused the roadblock. Speaking of "far from home" . . . In this case, the sight that had caught people's attention was a girl on a Ponyta who seemed as intrigued by her surroundings as her surroundings were by her. Judging by her dress and manner, she was either from the country or conducting some sort of social experiment. I wonder someone like that is doing in the city . . . Anyway, it's nothing related to me. And I have more important things to do. Weaving about several bystanders, Daiyu escaped into a side street and made his way to the seaside via another route--almost becoming lost twice before finding another group to follow.

"SS Libra . . . SS Libra . . . It should be one of these ships . . .," Daiyu murmured to himself as he looked to and fro from a schedule to the boats as he walked by them. He stopped. So this is her . . . Not bad. Rising majestically from the shimmering waters of Vermillion Harbor, the Libra, tied up at the dock by a single chain, resembled a Wailord held captive by a piece of thread. Though a line of fair length was attached to her, the Libra seemed well suited to accommodate a large number of passengers. Daiyu found a place at the end of the queue and stared silently off to one side as he awaited his turn with the ticket checker. About fifteen minutes later, the dark-haired trainer reached the front of the line. Avoiding eye contact, he handed his ticket to the uniformed man and waited as a confirmation was made.

"Thank you, sir. You will be in room 103. Have a nice day."
    ---------------------

And then I went to my quarters . . . Is that where I am now? My bed? I hope so; I could really use some sleep. If only those two would stop talking . . .

    <"It didn't work! Why isn't he waking up?">

<"Give it a moment; then I'll try shocking him again.">

    Zzzt!

Daiyu's eyes snapped open. An involuntary spasm of his muscles launched him into an upright sit from which he began coughing out mouthful after mouthful of seawater. Eventually the heaves stopped, allowing the trainer to draw much-needed air into his lungs in deep gasps. Once he had regained his breath enough to still himself, Daiyu slowly looked up and took stock of his environment. It's some sort of beach . . . What's going on?

    <"Good to have you back.">

"Sphene?" Daiyu turned to see the Lanturn resting in the waters that washed about him. "Good to be back, I guess. Where are we?"

Before Sphene could answer, Cori had thrown himself at Daiyu, knocking the boy flat on his back again. <"You're alive! I thought you were going to leave me.">

Too tired to make any effort at lifting himself from the wet sand, the human merely replied, "Cori, if I'd wanted to get rid of you, there are easier ways to do that than dying."

    <"Then--,"> the Butterfree started.

"Not that I would abandon you; you ought to know that by now." Daiyu quickly interjected before turning his head. "Anyway, Sphene, you were saying?"

<"Sorry, but I don't really know where we are. I just followed the ship.">

"That's right, the ship . . . What happened to it?"

<"It tried to go without you, but it stopped around here.">

    "What?"

<"When you called me out in the sea, I saw you falling off the ship. For awhile it kept going, but eventually it got stuck and everyone else flew away.">

"I see . . . " The dark-haired male fell silent for a moment as he attempted to recall the events Sphene had described. "I think . . . there was a storm."

<"Now that you mention it, it was a bit windy. Was that why you fell?">

"Yeah, something like that. Where is the ship now?"

"Don't know exactly. Somewhere along the shore? Been too busy with you to check."

Rolling his head to face the bug type still sitting on his chest, Daiyu asked, "Cori, think you could scout around a bit? Look for the ship and any people who might be nearby?"

<"Will you still be here when I get back?">

"Trust me. I'm not going anywhere."

<"Okay."> The Butterfree fluttered up into the air.

Once Cori was out of hearing range, Daiyu slowly pushed himself up with a groan. Ugh, my head . . . It feels like a herd of angry Loudred are trying to escape from it. Pushing aside a lock of wet hair, he addressed his Lanturn in a more serious tone. "Sphene, how bad was I?"

<"Pretty bad. Took four shocks to wake you up. I was getting worried, but I couldn't tell Cori. Not after he popped out of his Pokeball already in a panic about a dream he'd had.">

    "I understand . . . And thanks. I owe you one."

    <"It was nothing.">

"How are you, by the way? Were you injured?"

<"Nah. Sorta tired, but I've swam farther with heavier loads.">

    "Heh. Good to hear."

At that moment Cori's voice drifted through the salty air to his two companions. <"I found the ship! It's over there!"> he called as he hurried toward Daiyu. <"And I saw something move, too,"> the Butterfree added once he was hovering at his trainer's side. <"I think it's a human.">

So there's at least one other person alive . . . Hopefully they know what's going on better than I do. Either way, the ship probably has some supplies that will prove useful. "Sorry to ask this of you, Sphene, but could you look around to see if anyone else needs help?"

<"It's no trouble,"> the Lanturn replied good-naturedly as the light on his head brightened. <"I'll meet you back at the ship."> With that, the water type vanished beneath the waves.

Daiyu lightly brushed his fingers over the Pokeballs on his belt to reassure himself they were all present, slightly ashamed that he had not done so earlier, then shielded his eyes from the sun and looked up at Cori who was still waiting nearby. "To the ship, then?"

Cori nodded and led his trainer, flying a few paces ahead as the pair made the short trek across the sand to the once-great vessel.

    -----------

"You mentioned you saw another person?"

<"They were on the other side of the ship.">

"Right. So why are you hiding?"

Cori clung to Daiyu's back, fidgeting nervously. <"I'm not hiding. I just want to see what this person's like first.">

The youth sighed. "Let's just see what we can find out. Hopefully it's not a cannibal trying to trap us." Daiyu circled around the ship's prow and hailed the first living being he saw. "You there! What is this place?"

[OOC: Daiyu's backpack is still on the ship. Once the storm began, he went to the deck to investigate what was happening and was thrown off board.]

Ben was conscious again, he wished he could have slept longer, his body after all, felt like it had been through a lot. But Ben suddenly snapped awake, as though his body's pain was the cue to the events that had occurred not too long ago.

"Ow..." He moaned, feeling the sudden blood rush to his head due to his rude awakening. Finally looking around he figured he was on some land like an island. "Oh man... the parole officer isn't gonna like this..."

He remembered about the two pokeballs he had "acquired" and decided now was the best time to meet them, seeing that if there were other survivors, he didn't want to seem like he had stole them, especially for not having a trainer card. He took out both pokeballs and sent out each Pokémon at the same time.

One of them that came out was a Charmeleon – Ben figured came from the younger boy – looking like it was the battle-ready type. The other Pokémon was a Vileplume, it looked like it was the type to be pampered yet stubborn. Seeing these two, Ben smiled emphatically to himself, both Pokémon would have been worth a fortune.

He quickly came to his senses however, when he realized they started to growl, and look around in confusion.

"He- hey you guys... Ummm, before you try and attack, I just want to explain the situation. So the boat your trainers were on, well it... it's actually right there!" He said motioning his hands towards the shipwreck, surprised he hadn't seen it sooner. It was clearly the boat, but in its condition, it didn't look like much. The two Pokémon looked back at the clearly destroyed boat. They turned around and began running towards it, speaking fervently with each other.

"Hey wait up! Anyway, I was going to say, I think both your trainers must have lost you guys in your pokeballs." He yelled, now running after them, towards the boat. They had heard him, yet they still wanted to verify if their owners were still on the boat.

"Well there goes my new lifestyle." He said, looking at the two pokeballs, finally arriving at the boat. He didn't see anyone around. He watched as both his Pokémon helped each other scramble through the debris in search of their trainers.

Still having not accepted his current predicament however, Ben proceeded to give the boat (itself) obscene gestures as well as kicking and yelling at it. This did not change his mood however, and he decided to wait for his Pokémon, sitting down and leaning against the boat.

Pushing the sand to and fro in his boredom, Ben uncovered a Pokeball, it was one of the fancier ones he had so rarely come across back in the day. It was shiny gold and even embodied with crystals, whether they were real or not however, required a jeweller's eye. Ben knew from experience though, that a fancy Pokeball didn't always mean a fancy Pokémon. He opened it up, and after all, nothing came out. He sighed, putting the Pokeball in his pocket.

He wondered if he'd meet anyone, and in fact even would recognize him, he hoped not, but nonetheless, he knew he wouldn't be getting out of here, by himself...

[OOC: Perhaps one of any body's other Pokémon could reconfirm with my character's Pokémon that there was indeed a shipwreck, and I am not coercing them or something, thanks.]

James kept wavering in and out of conscienceness. One moment, he was awake, talking to his mother. The second, he was asleep, wondering how his mother managed to get onboard the ship. From what it looked like, he kept talking in his sleep. Maybe he was awake and he didn't have the strength to open his eyes. His loyal friend, Bec, hovered around him, making sure he was okay. It was quite distressing for her to see the young boy in such a state, especially when his health wasn't the best to begin with. Not to mention the fact that she couldn't stop worrying for her comrade. Where had that turtle disappeared to? The Haunter looked up as James raised his head, mumbling to himself. She caught some of the words he was uttering, like, 'Whirl' and 'Overboard', but she wasn't sure if he was rambling or regaining his sense. Hesitantly, she moved towards him and poked him on the side of the head. His eyes darted open and he began coughing and spluttering. This fit lasted for about five minutes, and by the time it was over, he was gasping, trying to keep his lungs from failing him.

The pale boy looked around, wondering where he was. He raised one of his hands up from the ground to wipe his hair out of his eyes, but it was quite obvious that this was a big mistake two seconds later when sand began to trickle down his face and into his eyes. 'Ugh!' He exclaimed, trying to rub the sand off with the back of his hands. He looked around, squinting. The sun was bright and right ahead of him, making it hard for him to see more than ten feet in front of him. 'W-Where are we, Bec? What's g-g-g-going on?'

Suddenly, memories started popping up inside of his brain and he began to re-construct a picture of what had happened. He remembered trying to sleep in a cabin. A cabin? Yes! He had been a passenger on a ship, heading to Johto. The SS Libra! That was it. On its way to Olivine City. He closed his eyes, realising he was developing a headache, but the memories kept coming. The Wartortle flew off his bed and smashed into the wall after the ship started tossing and turning wildly. James had tried to pick him up, only to be flung towards the wall by another wave. The boy frowned, touching the back of his head. Had he hit his head when he made impact with the wall? Judging from the bump he could feel, it was a valid theory. The teenager breathed deeply, trying to remember more events. A woman, one of the staff on the boat, was arranging for people to be put in lifeboats. James had seen her get thrown overboard. He shook his head, unable to recover anymore memories.

Glancing around, it was obvious he was on a beach. There was no ship in sight. That was to be predicted; he had ended up on a lifeboat. Hadn't he? While he had a recollection of being instructed to get into a lifeboat, everything seemed to blur after that. And if he had been in a lifeboat, where was everyone else? He wouldn't know enough (nor be physically capable) to be able to steer a lifeboat. Surely there had been some other people with him. James tried standing up; his legs felt like jelly and he fell down backwards. He groaned.

He turned his attention to his ghostly friend. 'D-D-D'you know what happened, B-B-Bec? I c-can't remember a-a-anything!'

The Haunter nodded visciously and pointed down the beach. 'Haun, Haunter!' He said, trying to get his message through.

'D-Down there?' James hadn't quite understood what his Pokémon had said, but getting pointed in any direction was better than feeling completely and utterly lost. Before he tried to stand up again though, he put his hand into his pocket to find his second Poké Ball. Two things became apparent to him right there, and neither of them were good. His clothes were dry. If he had ended up washed up on the beach, surely he would have been wet. How long had he been knocked out for? Or, if he had been in a lifeboat, he had been abandoned. He had no food, no means of communicating with anyone and he didn't know where he was. He shivered, being scared by both possibilities. The second realisation was that the Poké Ball containing his other Pokémon was not in his pocket. Had it fallen out during the storm? Could it still be on the ship? If so, where was the ship? Worse, could it have fallen into the water? James' breathing rate began to increase as he tried to reason with himself about what was going on.

Only one thing was clear though, if Bec was pointing to the east, that was where he needed to go. James closed his eyes, trying to calm himself. 'L-L-Let's go, Bec.'

(OOC: Because I didn't make it that obvious, James basically tried to get on a lifeboat, fell off and miraculously ended up around the same area as those who are shipwrecked.)

(OOC: Ack! Sorry it took so long, I've been really swamped.)

As the wind whistled through Axel's ears, he realized that he didn't even know what boat he'd be taking, or how much the ticket would cost. Maybe it would be more prudent to take the train; after all, ships were dangerous. Axel never really cared much for the water anyway. As an archaeologist, working under wet conditions was a recipe for disaster; one ill-prepared for flash of rain and an entire day of work and wealth of information is gone forever.

"Yeah. Train sounds good." Axel thought aloud; but nobody was there to hear him anyway.

An hour later, Zelda's magnificent wings folded inwards and flapped furiously at the ground, delivering a smooth landing. Axel slipped easily off her back, and nuzzled her soft feathers before returning her to her Pokeball, where she happily went with a pleasant coo. Looking around him, Axel noticed how big Saffron City actually was. It was bigger than Pewter, and a LOT bigger than Ecruteak. Axel walked down the main road towards the rail station, his hands shoved in his pockets, eyes on the massive skyscrapers.

The Saffron City rail station was heavily crowded with what seemed to be almost an angry mob; as much as a bunch of suits can be an angry mob. Opposite the mob were two young men, probably not much older than Axel himself, both looking terrified and ready to bolt at the earliest convenience.

"Uh, ladies and gentlemen, please!" mumbled one of the two boys. "We're working on the problem with all possible speed..."

"I have to get to work!" roared a voice from the crowd, and the masses erupted again and the two boys in front became more nervous than ever. One of the two finally stomped on the ground and began to yell very loud and very quickly.

"There is a Snorlax on the rails! There's nothing we can do! The train will be operational within the next 12 to 16 hours! We apologize for any inconvenience! Now leave! NOW!" The previous roar of the crowd was stifled to an unhappy grumble as the patrons shuffled out of the station, pushing Axel out with them. Once the crowd had dispersed, Axel grumbled and kicked the ground.

"Guess it's a boat after all. Oh well, boats are made safe now, right? No problem."

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Another hour later, Axel was standing in the wind-whipped Vermillion port city. This city he knew a bit better than Saffron, because he'd been through here to excavate in Diglett's cave and things of that nature. Axel smiled. He liked Vermillion; it was full of life. The smell of the sea air just seemed to vitalize everyone and that made for just a vibrant and, well, happy town.

As he approached the docks, he began to subconsciously wonder where he was going to get a ticket from. He found the right ship easily enough; the S.S. Libra. It was the same ship that his family in Olivine was always asking him to take, and every post card they sent to his dorm in Pewter was emblazoned with the giant watercraft. He noticed a line of people waiting to board the craft, and he slunk into the back of the line. When he finally reached the front of the line, the sailor asking for tickets promptly did his job.

"Um, excuse me," Axel said, his voice slightly wavering. "Where can you buy tickets for this ship?" Without a word, the sailor impatiently jerked his head in the direction of a small booth about a hundred yards away with a line of people coming out of it. With a sigh, Axel walked over and placed himself at the end of it.

As the line moved along, Axel realized that he actually had very little cash on him. Noticing the business suits and fine jewelry on the people in front and behind him, he faced a situation that he hadn't thought of before. What if he didn't have enough to pay?

He had about 3000 PD on him, which wasn't exactly chump change, but it wasn't enough for anything extravagant. More than the average guy would probably have on him if he were just walking around normally. He reached the front of the line, cleared his throat, and spoke to the impatient woman standing behind the glass, looking disinterestedly at her acrylic nails.

    "Um, yes. How much for a coach class ticket?" the receptionist sighed, and without looking at him, stated plainly;

"600 PD." Axel sighed in relief, and went to get his wallet out. "However…" said the woman, clearly wishing that she didn't have to say as many words as she was going to have to say. "However, we're currently out of unreserved coach tickets for this particular trip. We can offer you instead the deluxe suite, at the very modest price of 30,000 PD-"

But Axel was already way gone.

Walking dejectedly towards the city limits again, Axel's attention was drawn by a figure standing in the shadow of a shipping crate.

    "Psst! Hey kid!"

Axel looked up briefly, and slowly began to walk again, although a tad bit slower than he had been before. "Hey kid! You want to get on that boat?" Axel's ears perked and he stopped dead in his tracks. "Come here a sec; I have a deal for you…" As much as he didn't like it, he needed to get onto that boat, and was prepared to do a little bit of shady dealing if he had to.

As Axel walked into the shadow, he got a slightly better look at the man. He was probably about 5'7", very broad shouldered, and he had a bushy brown mustache and little enough hair that a simple fedora hat covered it nearly completely. "Tell you what, kid. I happen to have here, in my little pocket, just for you, a deluxe ticket to the S.S. Libra. No strings attached." Axel's eyes lit up, and for a second he forgot what he was doing.

"Wow!" he said excitedly, and the man's eyes darted back and forth before he stifled the boy with a quick and ferocious shush.

"Shut up already, would ya? Now look. I'll give you this ticket for the low, low cost of 5,000 PD. 5,000, and it's all yours." Axel's heart sank and he shrugged.

"All I've got's 3,000." The man gritted his teeth and looked back and forth. "

"3,000? That's all you got, huh? Well, I'll tell you what. I like you kid. I'll let it go for 3,000, but don't ever say that Port Town Players never did nothin' for ya… I'll remember your face, kid. I'll remember it good." Axel was about ready to deny, when the man stuck the ticket in Axel's hand, and before he knew it, the man was gone and so was his 3,000 PD.

Looking the ticket over, it seemed legitimate enough, and so Axel walked over towards the sailor taking tickets. He nervously handed off his ticket, half expecting the sailor to rip the ticket in two and then rip Axel in two with 2 quick movements. However, fortunately, the sailor took the ticket without incident, and handed Axel his key.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The suite was incredible! A king size bed awaited him along with a big screen TV and a full dining arrangement. After quickly taking advantage of his full room service, a satiated Axel laid down on his bed and quickly fell asleep.

An hour later, 3 guards spoke to the sailor who had been taking tickets. After exchanging a few short words, the sailor pointed towards Axel's room. With a nod, the guards walked down the hallway and stopped outside the suite. The 3 men silently opened the suite's door and with a cry, threw themselves upon Axel, which made for a very unpleasant wake-up call.

"Don't try and escape, kid!" said one of the guards from the top of the dogpile. Axel grunted, trying to shift the weight off of his ribs.

"Where would I escape to?! We're in the middle of the ocean! What's this all about, anyway?!" Axel yelped, struggling wildly.

"Jim, cuff him!" said the shortest of the three guards, who was both the heaviest, and the bottom of the dogpile of doom. Axel, who had been on his back, found his arms roughly grabbed and forced behind his back. He heard a clinking sound, and cold steel touched his wrists. The two guards who were piled on top of him clambered off, and Axel regained his breath, huffing and puffing in weak, shallow, bursts.

"What… puff… the hell… is going on..!?" he choked. The short fat guard whistled, and in walked the mobster who had sold him the phony ticket. He took off his hat, and took off the fake moustache, and said in a faux-gangster tone,

"I told you I'd remember your face, kid." The man pulled out a badge. "Officer Erwin Styles, VCPD. We've been cracking down on people buying illegal tickets on the boardwalk, and you're our latest catch." He motioned to the two other guards. "Jim, Kevin. Take this kid to the brig; Detective Briggs in Olivine will have a few words to share with this young man."

The ship's jail cell was far from uncomfortable; it was basically a coach room with bars on the windows and a locked door. Probably a bit smaller, and maybe the bed wasn't as well kept, but it was probably ten times better than the one in Olivine City was going to be. Axel sat with his head against the wall, miserable.

"Great. First I get denied the permission to go to the convention in Olivine, and now I'm caught in a damn sting operation. Great. Just fu-"

The ship was rocked by a tremendous crash, and the light in the room went out. Axel, though handcuffed, banged on the door with his forearms.

"H-hey! Hey! The hell's going on out there?" he called out, but there was nobody there. An intercom announced that the ship had struck rocks, and was being abandoned. Axel was also pleasantly informed that there were lifeboats available on the deck, and all passengers and crew should report to the decks for immediate evacuation. "HEY!" screamed Axel, throwing his weight against the reinforced door. "Hey! I'm still in here! You can't just leave me here! I'm going to-" But another explosion rocked the room, and Axel was knocked off his feet, his head striking the bedpost, knocking him unconscious.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He was awakened by the sound of surf and the warmth of the sun shining down on his face. As he swam to consciousness, he found that he was sitting in a corner of the room, but that the room went up. Up? Was he going crazy? He climbed to the top of his prison, and looked out through the massive whole that was torn through the wall of his room, leading outside. The ship was quite obviously beached, and from the looks of it Axel was close enough to the sand that he could jump down and not be seriously hurt, provided he could land right. With a quick shuffling of his legs, he maneuvered himself to the edge of the gap and leaped.

    "Allioop! Waahh.. Oh, sh-!" *THUD*

Midfall, Axel realized that he was still handcuffed, and without his hands to balance and guide his trajectory, he had landed wrong on his ankle, sending him to the ground in a heap.

Laying on the ground in heaps of pain, he thought he heard a voice. From the sand, he called out "Anybody there..? I think.. I think I hurt my ankle pretty bad, I can't really move. Is anybody there? I'm freakin' handcuffed, and I have a messed up ankle. Ugh." He set his head back down on the ground and muttered sarcastically. "Don't everyone rush at once now."

(OOC: Anybody who wants to hear me in their next post can; I'm sort of a sitting duck as things are right now. Any help would be appreciated. :D)

'The waves…. It's southing….' Clovis's thoughts echoed within his own mind, as he drifted among the sea. But he was in no danger, for he was drifting on Rama, his Mantine, which met he was in good hands, or rather, wings, of some sort. Slowly he started to stir, his pedant jingling a bit as he slightly groaned, feeling his surroundings.

'What… Happened?' he thought, lifting himself up slowly looking down at Rama still more then a little confused. He did his best to get his bearings. He slowly opened his eyes, gazing at his surroundings. 'Ocean…. Ocean…… Beach, that's where were headin I guess… Ocean… Ruins… Wait…' he gazed into the distance noticing the ship wreck and pondered it for a bit. 'That's right!' he thought the memories of what had happened before fading into his forced sleep.

Clovis was enjoying his premium sweet, quite ritzy if he did say so himself. Though he was rather accustom to lavish things, After all cruisers were very popular these days. Though Clovis did prefer to keep a low profile, the blue blood crowd could get a bit tiring after a while, to mean children were being spoiled in this day and age. Still Clovis did a good job of breaking off from that crowd; his appearance alone was a testament to that.

The white haired youth was more then happy to just relax in his room with Sol, currently lying on the bed with him, half napping. 'This sure is nice huh?' he communicated to Sol, he simply nodding, but then his ears rose when it suddenly started to rumble. Clovis leaped up quickly and looked around as it started to get worse. 'I have a bad feeling… I can hear it on the wind….' Sol said his fur on end as the sky howled with thunder, and the boat rocked hard.

Clovis looked out the window at the startings of chaos as it were. 'Were getting of this thing, now.' Sol thought, starting to glow with psychic power. "Woah, Woah, Waoh, what are you doing pal?" He retorted waving his arms a bit worried by the pokemon actions. 'Hey don't worry champ, if the ship turns out fine then your parents can pay for it easy, they spend more money on dinner, no sweat" The Espeon smirked the port hole's glass shattering, and the metal around it bending outward.

'Sol! You can't just do-' He tried to reason with the pokemon, but was already being raised into the air, a kind of mystic aura surrounding him. 'Oh no, No were not doing this, No, no, no no, NO!' he flailed wildly in utter defines of his pokemons actions. 'Ya know, for someone who can't speak, you talk for to much Clovis.' He said in a snarky manner, and hurled the young man out of the ship through the gaping hole that had been created. 'Damn it!!' He thought so loud anyone nearby would have heard it echoing within there minds, though with the current situation anyone would have mistaken that for there own thoughts.

So Clovis dived into the sea, hitting the waters hard, Sol diving in after, Releasing Rama from here ball allowing Clovis to be carried safely. Clovis grasped onto the pokemon coughing up a bit of water before drifting off, Sol giving a last glance to the sinking boat, before returning to his own ball so the water pokemon wouldn't have to work to hard, as it swam away, wanting to get them all away from danger.

Clovis's sighed a little bit, rubbing his head and shaking it lightly. 'Well… I guess were not making it to Olivine… Still.. I'm alive… And who knows… maybe this place is interesting… I could call this.. a vacation!' he did his best to lie to himself smiling nervously, and petting the pokemon keeping him afloat. Soon he began to whistle a sweet and soothing tone to calm himself down. It was one of the few sounds he could make on his own after all. The light melody echoed a bit, as he neared the beach, wondering who or what he might find.

  • ((OHMAIGOSH I'm sorry I was having some family problems and didn't have time to post here. u_u))

Olivia wandered down to her suite just shortly after the boat took off. The anticipation charged through her veins as the excited child ran down a small number of levels to reach her lower cabin. Legs jittering, she stopped in front of the door and put in her key. The trip was going to be long, and Olivia hoped ferociously that this was an acceptable room. Turning the handle, she opened the door and quickly hopped in, gently closing it behind her.

The suite was perfect for Olivia. A small porthole window looked out just above the water with sprays of mist covering its surface. The walls were painted a brilliant pale green and the carpeting was of an ever-so-slightly darker shade. The bed was done in blue and teal wave patterns that matched a small upholstered chair next to a desk. Joy now relaced her anticipation and thus she trotted over to the bed and found a gorebyss figure made out of towels sitting just in front of the pillow. The ship's staff really did care about each and every passenger didn't they! Later Olivia knew that she would want to go up on the deck and check it out some more, but for now she simply relaxed on her bed and played with her pokemon.

    ------------------------------

Slinging her backpack onto her back, Olivia began the trek up to the main deck where she planned to relax for a bit. Soon she would be in Olivine where a new journey would begin for her and many new secrets of pokemon would be discovered. Olivia may even see pokemon that she had never before, and perhaps one of those rare and powerful pokemon known as legendaries! Excited thoughts and daydreams floated around her head- she dreamed of finding and capturing a shiny, and of having a flying-type that could carry her around. Olivia also touched upon inquiries about the people there. Would they be nice? Were they much different from people in Kanto? Questions raced around the girls mind as she made her way for the steps that led to the deck.

A sudden jerk of the massive ship sent Olivia's head flying up to the roof of the area that she was standing in and an incredible jolt of pain was sent down her back. Blackness took over instantly as Olivia fell into unconsiousness.

    ------------------------------

Olivia was spiraling downward in an endless void of harsh cold and blinding darkness. A strange and faded pokemon cry could be heard just outside her reach, but no matter how hard she tried Olivia just couldn't reach the source of the noise... it just kept getting louder and louder, more and more desperate...

"CHEEEEEERRRIMMM!" A final shove on his trainer's head was all that Pi needed to wake Olivia from her unpleasent fainting-vision. What was that jerk? Is something wrong with the boat? And Olivia knew that something was wrong; the hallway was clearly tipped at quite the odd angle. Balancing herself, Olivia stumbled toward a block of light she could see down the hall- in the opposite direction of the stairs. As she moved closer, the block of light was revealed to be a large, splintered opening in the side of the ship. Beach sand scattered when Olivia jumped from the boat, and a smaller cloud- accompanied by a soft thud -was formed when Pi landed by her side. Not wanting her precious cherrim to get into trouble, Olivia scooped him up and held him tight to her chest. "Well Pi, we're not in Kanto anymore. And I know this isn't Olivine town!

  • For once, I think I see why Cori was worried. Daiyu stared silently at Axel, assessing the situation as he attempted to decide the proper course of action. "A stranger in handcuffs asking for help. Nothing about this could be considered suspicious," the youth thought sarcastically. His amber eyes briefly flicked up at the ship. And by the look of the bars on that window, he was being kept in some sort of holding room. Going by what I can see, helping him does not seem a very good idea. Yet there also exists a chance that we are in an isolated area and having him remain a captive would be more inconvenient than allowing him to be free. If nothing else, I already have a Pokemon out, which should provide me with some advantage. For now, let's see how this goes . . .

Motioning toward the Butterfree still attached to his back, Daiyu strode toward Axel. "I guess we should get you upright," he remarked to the blonde as he knelt down and raised the older male into a sit by his shoulders. Cori, releasing his hold on his trainer, hovered anxiously overhead.

"You mentioned your ankle was injured . . ." Daiyu glanced down. I'm going to say it's probably the one twisted to the side. "Cori, give me a little Stun Spore," the dark-haired youth directed, extending one arm to the side. A small amount of shimmering, dark gold powder rained down from one of the bug Pokemon's wings into Daiyu's hand. Though he felt an odd sensation from the spore, the boy had been an accidental recipient of this technique often enough to not receive its full effects. Placing the powder on Axel's ankle, Daiyu explained, "This should keep the pain down until you can receive proper treatment. As for your handcuffs, I can't take them off with no key--not without hurting your arms, anyway."

Standing, Daiyu slipped his hands into his pockets and turned toward Cori. "There might be a spare key in the ship. Mind searching for it?"

The Butterfree looked from Daiyu to Axel and back. <"Are you sure?">

"Yes. If you see my backpack, please bring that back as well--though that part can wait."

    <"Um, alright . . . I'll try to be back soon.">

Once his Pokemon had departed, Daiyu turned toward Axel and asked in an attempted (and failed) casual tone, "So why the handcuffs?"

    ---------------------

Shafts of sunlight shone through missing sections of ceiling and wall, granting visibility in what had once been an internal hallway. Occasionally, a rivulet of dust would break away from ship's structure, causing Cori some nervousness regarding the vessel's stability. Hearing sounds of life ahead, the Butterfree cautiously turned a corner and was surprised to find himself facing two other Pokemon--a Charmeleon and a Vileplume, both digging through a section of rubble for some reason. <Eep. I hope they're friendly . . . Especially the fire one.>

Approaching the duo, Cori inquired, <"Er, have either of you seen a key?">

    [OOC:
The Jack of Hearts: I am not certain what your plans for the missing Pokeball are. If it fits your ideas, though, I could have Sphene find the Pokeball since he is searching the nearby waters anyway.]

OOC: I'm sorry it's so late guys. A close friend of mine is very sick and I haven't been home much. I'll be able to keep up more now, he's doing much better than he was.

    IC:

Axel's hope began to diminish as he thought he heard the voices drifting away. With a sigh he set his head in the sand.

"I guess we should get you upright." came a voice from above him. Axel's head shot up, and he blew sand out of his nose with an annoyed snuff.

"That'd be great." He said, blowing another wad of sand off his face. As he sat up, Axel murmured his thanks through more sand.

"You mentioned your ankle was injured," mused his rescuer. Axel nodded, and the boy turned to his Butterfree. "Cori, give me a little Stun Spore." Axel marveled as he watched his new dark-haired friend take a bit of stun spore and apply it liberally to his ankle.

Before he had a chance to comment on this strange act, Axel instantly and involuntarily let out a sigh of relief. He couldn't feel his ankle anymore, sure, but the throbbing pain that was nearly incapacitating him quickly dissipated. "This should keep the pain down until you can receive proper treatment." Axel wrestled with his handcuffs and wordlessly requested their removal. The new guy shook his head. "As for your handcuffs, I can't take them off with no key--not without hurting your arms, anyway." Axel slumped visibly and the boy stood up. He exchanged a few words with his Butterfree and turned back to Axel.

"So why the handcuffs?" the boy said in an uneasy tone, and Axel suddenly realized how ugly of a situation this looked like. Shipwreck, some guy in handcuffs on the beach… this kid was either bold, or had a death wish. Either way, Axel liked him already. Axel's eyes darkened and he looked right in his rescuer's face.

"I've killed eighteen people." Axel said tonelessly and with no movement in his eyes. After about five seconds of keeping a straight face, he exploded with laughter and vibrant color came to both his eyes and his face. "Nah, I'm just yankin' you. To be honest?" Axel looked down, slightly embarrassed. "I, uh." He cleared his throat. "I bought a bum ticket to the ship because I needed to get to Pewter City for an Archaeologist's convention. Got caught in a sting operation." Axel looked at his companion's face, hoping that he would believe him – he probably wouldn't believe himself. "Pretty lame, huh?" he offered a weak smile.

"But I want to thank you for helping me out so far. What's your name? I'm Axel. Axel LeRoux." With that same hopeful smile on his face, Axel almost comically extended his handcuffed hand from behind his back in an almost handshake.
