Apparently there were more reservations than seats available, so they were giving out $500 airline credit to each person who volunteered to stay behind and wait for "more than a couple hours."

^I remember that happening when I was heading to Texas in March. Luckily not for my plane though, I like getting to places sooner.

I've never been on a plane before... As a matter of fact the only other state I've been too is Tennessee.

They were up to 800 dollars for a flight while I was waiting. They always overbook - there's a formula that tells them how much to overbook and how much money to offer, and if they overbook and no one takes the bait then they just start kicking people off of the flight. I saw 3 people get bumped from a flight, it suuuucked.
