    Intoduction
Welcome to the realm of Narusha. It is the year 1355. The Pokemon in this realm get their power from 17 elemental stones. These stones each represent one Pokemon type and are all powerful items. Each kingdom in this realm has a stone. These stones allow the holder to control any Pokemon of the type the stone is outside of battle. This means that the person who holds all 17 stones will be able to control every Pokemon in the world, he could lead Narusha fairly and well or he could destroy it and abuse his power. Though there are rumours that holding all 17 stones will allow the holder access to the mysterious Stone of Light and the powers held within the Stone of Light.

The kingdoms are also 17 in number and each hold a stone within them. Each kingdom is owned by a Guardian of the Stone. These Guardians meet once every year in a Council of the Stones to discuss how best to help the people of the world. Each Guardian uses only the type of Pokemon that his kingdom holds close to its heart. Each realm has it's own strengths and weaknesses though all of them have to do what is best for their people. If a Guardian were to not follow this rule then all the other kingdoms would announce war on that nation. A Guardian can only lose his power by losing a battle against a Leadership Battle against a challenger. A Leadership Battle only happens when a trainer of great strength emerges in the Guardian's realm or another Guardian wishes to challenge him, which is rare because the other guardians will likely announce war on your one or two kingdoms.

    Each kingdom has different characteristics:
Fire- The people here are characteristically hot headed. They tend to have a strong army and to be loyal to the end. They have a poor navy and a legendary hatred of Water. Their capital is built inside of a huge volcano, they have managed to stop the volcano exploding unless a Guardian decides to explode the volcano. The rest of their land is made of cooled down lava and towns are usually inside small volcanoes. They use a lot of Fire Pokemon here and new trainers get a choice of Charmander, Cyndaquil, Torchic and Chimchar for their starter.

Water- The people here are characteristically calm but when they do get angry they really get angry. They have a strong navy yet at times don't have enough emotion and are too mathematical. Their land is a series of islands so it is hard to conquer without some way of getting across the ocean. Their capital is on the centre, biggest island. and the buildings are made of coral. They use Water Pokemon and new trainers get a choice of Squirtle, Totodile, Mudkip and Piplup for their starter.

Grass- The people here tend to be good archers and also tend to be quiet. Their main strength is the ability to move through woods quickly and be able to form ambushes in woods. Their land is a forest with meadow clearings with lots of flowers fo all kinds at regular intervals. Their capital is inside of a giant tree. New trainers here get a choice of Bulbasaur, Chikorita, Treecko and Turtwig as their starter.

Bug- The people here are great at traps and are great tacticians. They tend to be rather weak physically though so have learnt to do whatever necessary to win. Their land is also a forest but much thicker and darker than in the kingdom of Grass and without the meadows. The people here have made their homes out of spiders webs and their capital is a giant tree but with the people living in houses of webs. New trainers here get a choice of Caterpie, Spinarak, Wurmple and Burmy as their starter Pokemon.

Electric- The people here tend to make quick decisions and to act rashly. They are quite easily annoyed and also use their speed as their greatest advantage. Their land is made up of wires which carry electric charge in them, this isn't the actual earth here but nobody actually knows what is underneath the wires. Their capital is a giant Power Plant with the people making their house out of wires. New trainers here get a choice of Pikachu, Mareep, Electrike and Pachirisu as their starter.

Normal- The people here tend to be plain, boring yet surprisingly resilient. Their only strength is their lack of weaknesses and their only weakness is their lack of strength. Theirealm is generally simple in nature, not many exciting sites. Their capital is a giant city with markets and a great trading centre. New trainers here get a choice of Cleffa, Igglybuff, Munchlax and Happiny as starters.

Ice- The people here are icy and entirely unemotional. Their main strength is the temperatures in their land and their main weakness is their poor adaptation to warmer suroundings. Their realm is cold, snowy and icy when their is nowhere without a blizzard. The houses here are igloos and the capital is in the coldest area when the snow sometimes is taller than you. Despite all these harsh surroundings the inhabitants of Ice are very powerful and hold great respect in the Council of the Stones. New trainers here get a choice of Seel, Swinub, Spheal and Snover.

Fighting- The people here are physially strong yet stupid. Their greatest strength is their sheer brute force, their greatest weakness the lack of a Plan B when force fails. Their realm is large, filled with dojos, in fact the people live in dojos. The realm has a few small mountains. Their capital is a giant fighting dojo. New trainers here get a choice of Machop, Tyrogue, Meditite and Riolu.

Poison- The people here are great assassins and, with poison knives and Pokemon, walk around the land unseen and unknown. Their greatest strength is their ability to go unseen and to strike at just the right moment, their greatest weakness their lack of ability when forced to fight. Their realm is small and there are so many Koffing and Weezing that the realm is surrounded by a never ending smog. The people here live in houses made of poisonous materials. Their capital is surrounded by so much smog that it is almost impossible to see. New trainers here have a choice of Koffing, Ekans, Grimer and Croagunk as starters.

Ground- The people here are very defensive and like to live a nomadic life. Their greatest strength is their caution, this means they don't take risks. Their greatest disadvantage is that they still live a nomadic lifestyle. Their realm is a large, desert where sandstorms occur often. Their people are nomads and have no capital, they just wander the desert though are great soldiers and have the ability just to disappear in the desert. New trainers here have Sandshrew, Phanpy, Trapinch and Hippopotas as starters.

Flying- The people here have control of the skies and are very powerful. Their greatest strength is their control of the sky, their greatest disadvantage is their lack of power on land and at sea. Their realm is in the sky. This is because the Stone of Flying has another ability, it lifted up the temples in this realm and allowed the people of this kingdom to walk on clouds and made houses out of clouds. Their capital is the largest temple and worships the Legendary Birds, another symbol of this realm. New trainers here get the choice of Pidgey, Spearow, Doduo and Starly as their starters.

Psychic- The people are intellectually even better than those of Bug, though they are still mentally weak. Their greatest strength are their high mental powers, their greatest weakness is that when afraid they don't have enough brute force to survive. Their realm has purple earth and you feel great mental energies the instant you step into it. The people here live in large houses that have complex teleport systems to get anywhere, just to keep them mentally sharp. Their capital is a giant city, yet again with teleporters needed to be used to get anywhere. New trainers here have the choice of Abra, Drowzee, Natu and Ralts.

Rock- The people here are even more cautious and defensive than Ground is, just more technologically advanced and a lot slower when making decisions. Their realm is very mountainous and very rocky. The people here live in the sides of mountains and their cities are very difficult to attack. Their capital is the biggest mountain in the biggest city and their houses are made out of rocks. New trainers here get the choice of Geodude, Rhyhorn, Bonsly and Larvitar as starters.

Ghost- The people here are very religious and this realm is where Pokemon are laid to rest. Their greatest strength is their great spirit, but their greatest weakness is the fact they believe they are immortal and therefore take unnecessaey risks. Their realm has so many graves now it is just one long graveyard. The people here live in giant tombstones and their capital is where the graves of important Pokemon are. New trainers here get the choice of Gastly, Misdreavus, Duskull and Shuppet.

Dragon- The people here are very traditional and few in number yet are the strongest in the world. Their greatest strength is their sheer strength and versatility, their main weakness their fear of the cold and of each other. Their realm has lots of temples, lots of rivers and a lot of caves and mountains. The people here live in houses that are very hard to find yet when you find them great rewards wait within. the capital here only has 6 houses in it, but they are filled with trainers of great strength. New trainers here get a choice of Dratini, Gible, Bagon and Swablu.

Dark- The people here are cruel and have less morals than the other kingdoms. Their greatest strength is that they do whatever necessary to achieve their goals, their greatest weakness the fact that no other nation trusts them. Their realm is endless night, crime is common and the dark energy here instantly makes you lose your morals. The houses here are made of black granite. The capital here is a place where lots of black houses are put together with a big black house in the centre of the city. New trainers here have a choice of Houndour, Murkrow, Stunky and Carvanha.

Steel- The people here are very defensive and are the most technologically advanced kingdom. Their greatest strength is the strength of their weapons and of their defensive walls, their greatest weakness their weakness to mental assaults. The realm here is made of metal with mines everywhere. The houses are steel and the capital is a giant city made of steel. New trainers here have a choice of Beldum, Magnemite, Bronzor and Sheldon.

How to train up Pokemon in this RP
To train up Pokemon here at the end of a battle I will decide how many if your Pokemon gains any levels during the battle. If a battle post is really poor I will make you lose the battle, harder trainers require better posts to be able to beat them.

    Name: Robert (or Bob) White
    Age: 12
    Gender: Male
Appearance: Robert being born in the desert has very dark skin, almost pitch black, in fact it's close your eyes at night and he's invisible black. He is bald, but usually wears a cap, with the "Official Crest" on it (the cap that Ash wears in the first three seasons of Pokemon). Being born and raised in the desert, he is usually dirty, and has his nails growing an inch away from his finger tips. Bob's eyes are green, but still, like his other features, including his personality, is very dark.
Robert wears nothing but a generic brown tunic, with a cape hanging from it, along with matching pants. He wears a belt, carrying his only Pokemon, Trapinch. There gloves he wear are fingerless black gloves, with steel knuckles. On his knees, is a pad, which is probably used for some sort of security, in the desert. At his left side, is a cloth bag, which he carries his belongings.
History: Robert was born in a desert oasis after an occasional sand storm. Although nomadic, he usually stayed within the oasis where he was born. His parents would teach him about many things, including Pokemon, and their monotheistic religion. Being in the oasis all his life, he hasn't made much contact with people other than his parents.
This changed when he received his first Pokemon, Trapinch, which he named Leon. Leon proved to be a very useful Pokemon, to dig holes to hide in during a sand storm. Though inexperienced in battle, the two get along rather well, allowing Bob to be able to teach his Trapinch dig. Living a nomadic life, Robert has learned to craft his own Poke balls.
RP Sample: Robert took a sat down on a dry log. A trainer, seeming to be of the mountain kingdom has walked up to him. "What do you want?" Robert asked. "Battle me, one on one" the other trainer replied, throwing out a Poke ball. "Alright, a geodude? then I'll pick Leon" Robert threw his Poke ball and out came Leon "Leon, use Bite!". Geodude dodged the attack, and used a rock throw. "Leon, avoid the stones. Use sand attack to blind geodude, and then use dig!" Leon had done as it was commanded, the other trainer not being able to think quickly enough, had his geodude knocked out. Leon wins the match, battle is over.

    My SU/trainer form

    Name: Josephine Rosalea Harris

    Age: 14

    Gender: Female

Appearance: After showering herself, Josephine proceeded to dry off her thin frame of medium height and build. She then rubbed the moisture out of her red hair, allowing the wet strands to fall to her shoulders, and then dried and brushed it until it was in a suitable enough position for her to wrap a hair tie around it, creating a pony-tail look.

She went over to her closet and removed two hangers, one of which held a bright red sleeveless top, with the other holding a sky-blue miniskirt. The teen dressed herself, before slipping her feet into a pair of brown boots, and casually placed her black sunglasses over her hazel eyes. In the past, she had received criticism from her peers as they wondered why she had come to classes with her sunglasses on, but she ignored them, as it was just a strange mannerism of hers to do that.

History: Josephine was born in Pallet Town. She first came into contact with writing during an encounter with her older sister in their garden, who wrote so beautifully that a couple of the local male trainers were entranced after she'd told them.

Josephine's sister, Tara, died in a car crash when Josephine was nine. With her father, Charles, a paraplegic and bound to stay in a wheelchair for the rest of his life, it was up to Fiona, her mother, to rake in the money. Her older brother had defected from the life of a trainer, so Fiona and Charles disowned him. Her younger, nearly ten-year-old sister, Natalie, and herself were the only Harris children left.

Josephine began her journey at the age of fourteen, four years after she was supposed to.

    *i would like Sandshrew please*

    name: Van Thomas

    age: 16

    gender: male

appearance: Van is fairly average looking. He has slightly tanned skin from hours of sunlight, and is of medium height of about 5'8"-5'9". He has a lean athletic build, and dark brown hair kept medium-long in length (for better example of length, see "Damion", the trainer who abandoned Ash's Charmander in the anime). He wears slim jeans and a black long sleeve button down shirt, with basic tennis shoes. He has piercing green eyes, but they are usually hidden behind glasses.

History: Originally from Fuchsia City, Van's family moved to Viridian City when he was only a few years old. He began his journey at age 11 in Viridian City, after hatching Sandshrew from an egg his brother had given him as a child, rather than obtaining a pokemon from Professor Oak in Pallet. After travelling for 5 years with Sandshrew, with no real battle experience, Van has decided to follow in his brother's footsteps and become a trainer.

RP sample: Van stood in front of the Pokemart with his partner, Sandshrew, at his side.
"I'm sorry, buddy. They don't allow pokemon out of their pokeballs inside. Don't worry, it will only take a minute. Come on," he said, recalling his faithful companion into its pokeball.
As Van entered the mart, he was disoriented by the bright lights, having just traveled through most of the night, finally finding a town to sleep in. He searched the aisles before approaching the counter, placing 3 pokeballs and 4 potions on the counter. After he completed the purchase, he stepped out of the store once again, immediately releasing Sandshrew from his ball.
"See? That wasn't too bad. Now let's find the Pokemon Center. It's been so long since I've been to Pewter City, I don't exactly remember where it is."
After searching in the darkness for a few seconds, Van spotted an old man outside his house, tending to some plants. He approached the man's gate and caught his attention.
"Excuse me, sir? Can you help me? I need to find the Pokemon Center."
The man looked him over for a moment before answering.
"Boy, you're on the wrong end of town," he said. "The Center is on the west side of Pewter. You're about as far east as you can get in town."
Van groaned as Sandshrew sat on the ground in defeat, not wanting to walk across town another time. The man eyed the pokemon carefully before opening the gate.
"Come on. You might as well stay here for the night. It's not a good idea to cross the town this late."

I hope I'm not godmodding or anything with the information about the temple and all, but it's difficult to give history when you only give us a little smidgen of a paragraph to go by.

Also, I have a question. What exactly are we going to be doing? It sounds like an interesting set-up, but I don't see what we could have to do with it-- especially with us all having starting pokemon at the beginning. Who will we be battling? Each other? Why are we battling? What does any of this have to do with the different kingdoms and the stone guardians?

    /rant

    Sorry. Anyways, here's my RP:

    Name: Kalani Kealoha

    Age: 17

    Gender: Female

    Appearance:
    Body:
Kelani's skin is a dark tan, permanently so thanks to her already dark skin and her abundance of time in the sky, soaking up the rays of the sun. Her hair is a dark, golden blond, most often falling in large curls to the center of her back, and she often feels her blond eyebrows look silly on her dark face, compared to her sisters who all have beautiful, curly, liquid black hair. Her body is curvaceous, aerodynamic in a manner of speaking, and her legs are long and toned from her daily runs with her doduo, taking up almost half her body, which stands 5'5 without shoes. Her eyes are bright blue and her nose is petite, but her lips are noticeably plump and light pink, giving her both a beaming smile and an advanced ability to pout.
    Clothing:
Kelani's outfit of choice is a mixture of blues, black, and white, typical of her Kingdom to help them with blending into the sky and foliage above others. Her skirt falls to just above her knees, with a slit in the side to allow her to sit atop her doduo easily, and is a dark blue, laced with zigzagging splotches of lighter blue and white across it. Underneath, she wears black spandex-esque shorts that end before the hem of the skirt. Her top half is typically clad in a sleeveless top, made of a thin but tough fabric, the same dark blue color of her skirt. The neck of the shirt comes down in a low V, revealing a white sports bra. Kelani's feet are usually bare, but when she must wear shoes, such as if she's traveling on rough terrain or entering a building where they are required, she has a pair of dark blue flats. In her hair, she always wears a headband woven of feathers and colorful beads. Thick string the colors of the legendary birds—gold, blue, and red—are woven throughout as well in seemingly random patterns. The band laces beneath her hair, against her neck, and she only takes it off when she sleeps, if then. Kelani also has a pair of goggles, dark blue in color that she wears whilst flying. When not in use, they hang around her neck, along with a silver chain from which three pendants hang—three feathers, gold, red, and blue, once again signifying the importance of the legendary birds in her life. Her backpack is a scrappy thing, a tawny brown to match the color of her doduo, and it has several patches of varying colors sewn throughout from battering it took while in her care.

    History:
Kelani was born within the capital by a birthing woman, whom Kelani's mother had used for all three of Kelani's older sisters, and would eventually use for Kelani's younger sister. Her blond hair astounded the people of the capital, and they claimed she was blessed by the Legendary Birds with the golden rays of the sun threaded throughout her hair. They took her to the temple, presenting her to the gods and blessing her with various oils and prayers. As if it was a sign, an egg that had been delivered to the temple not long before hatched at the very moment the priests called out Kelani's name to the Legendary Birds. A young doduo popped out, stumbling to the feet of the priest holding Kelani before collapsing. The man lowered the child to the pokemon, a look of wonder crossing his face, and the baby embraced, and was in turn embraced by, the doduo. It was decided then that the child and the doduo would be partners, as it was obviously ordained by the Legendary Birds, and from then on the trio was inseparable. As a child, Kelani called the two Co and Io, but as they got older she gave them their true names, Colm and Ionas, along with a necklace for Ionas and a band of feathers, beads, and string for Colm.

Kelani's life has been pretty much dedicated to training, and praising the legendary birds. There is so much in her life she feels she must thank the birds for, that she is constantly saying silent prayers under her breath. Her headband was given to her by one of the priests of the temple when she was 12, and she wears it every day. She visits the temple as much as possible, but any other time she can be found either helping her family to get along without strangling each other, or training with Ionas and Colm. At a very young age, it was found that Kelani had a rather strongly developed talent for cloud-formation and flying—both something it typically took until adulthood to fully master. Thanks to this, she was able to build her own home in order to give her family more room, and she, Ionas, and Colm are able to easily get around without help, meaning she can visit home and the temple easily. Her life up until now has basically consisted of training their flying and fighting skills, praising the great god birds that have given her so much in her life to be thankful for, and helping her family to live.

    Pokemon
    :
    Species: Doduo.
Name: Ionas (left) and Colm (right)
Appearance: Each head has a single, large white feather stemming from the base of their beaks and rising up between their eyes to meet with a small ridge of white feathers along their foreheads. Ionas wears a thick silver chain around his neck with three small jewels of gold, blue, and red hanging off. Around Colm's neck is a thick band of assorted gold, blue, red, and white feathers, beads, and thick string, similar to Kelani's headband.

Ok, firstly sfzen's sign up has been approved

Very, very good from RainbowMunchies, your sign up has obviously been approved

What you're going to be doing is collecting up all the different elemental stones from all the different kingdoms to unite or destroy the world. Thankfully I was imagining the temples in the kingdom of Flying as being home of the mythical birds ( or legendary Birds as you might call them). You'll start by battling the Stone Guardian of your kingdom, and if you have a rival in that realm then chances are you'll meet each other and battle at some point. You're battling to gather all the stones together, for whatever reason you choose. The different kingdoms each have a Stone Guardian who guards the stone of their kingdom, you have to defeat all the Stone Guardians to gather all the stones. Further information on individual Stone Guardians will be given later on when the RP gets to the right stage.

A final thing, what RainbowMuchies did wasn't godmodding in my opinion. I do not mind, in fact I like it, when someone uses their imagination to create a place, as long as it fits in with how other people have described. One thing I will not tolerate though is someone making another character do something without permission from me and from the person who controls the character, you have been warned.

Finally the sign up stage is now over, all other sign ups will go onto the OOC thread. I'll PM you details of individual trainers when the time is necessary, starting with the first trainer you will have the option to fight. I'll make an OOC thread now as well.

So what exactly am I supposed to do?
You did get my PM about your first trainer. You're meant to find some way of getting your first Pokemon and meet the first trainer I told you which Pokemon he had. It's up to you what this character's like, their history, personality, appearance or anything like that. That's the first thing (sorry this was clearer in the OOC thread that I'm just waiting to be approved)

If you mean globally in the RP your job is to collect all the Elemental Stones of all the nations. You have to journey through each nation looking for the Stone Guardian so you can take their stone. I'll give you more details on individual routes, towns and cities when you meet them but for now that should be enough.

To be honest i think theres enough stones now just more pokemon to evolve from the stones they already have but if they do manage to put more elemental stones in i guess a light stone or a rainbow stone would be cool :D

Robert is in his dessert built hut, which he's built in the oasis, he sees another trainer approaching, possibly male, wearng a hooded tunic, and a face mask. "Yo, how would you like to battle a future Pokemon master? My name's Terrance, and this is my partner Kevin, the phanpy," said a passer by. Robert threw his Poke ball. It opened, and his trapinch, Leon "Alright, lets go; Leon, use dig!" the trapinch dives into the desert sand. "Kevin, use rollout!" the phanpy rolled up into a ball and rolls around in the desert sand. Confused, it stops, and stands there. In a split second, Leon, the trapinch flys out of the dirt, and bites the phanpy, which immediately gets back into a ball, and rolled around, heading towards Leon. "Leon, rock smash!" Robert called, as Leon ran after, and took a gigantic bite out of phanpy. There is a huge bite gash in Kevin's back. It drops on its' hind legs, and screams in pain.

"Kevin, what's wrong?" Terrance runs towards his hurt phanpy, and gives it a ripe yellow berry. Kevin, seems to get over the pain quickly. It stands up, and shakes sand off itself. "Kevin, use rock tomb!" Terrance commanded. Kevin, did as it was commanded, digging rock out of the sand, and hurling it at Leon. "Leon, use rock smash to break them before your hurt, and use dig!" Robert cried, as Leon went straight to digging "No, Leon, what are you doing?" The rock sunk into the ground, and Leon, reluctantly dug itself out. "Kevin, use mudslap!" Terrance said. The mudslap, barely damaged the trapinch, which angrily ran towards it and used bite. Phanpy faints, Terrance withdraws it, and says "Good job, I'll see you later, maybe, good luck"

assasinn- your Trapinch grew to Level 6

(Don't worry about this now because it was my fault for not telling you but Pokemon only use moves they would use at that level in the games. So at the moment your Trapinch only knows Bite, sorry my fault.)

(Before you read: The moves dig, and rock smash are TM and HM moves, and although the realm may not have machines, they could still be taught moves)

"Mother, I'm leaving home. I have heard from a traveler that there are other kingdoms. Each one has a stone..." Robert continues to explain to his parents the elemental stones. Although they beg him to stay, he takes a bag, fills his canteen with water, takes a bite of a fruit, and leaves on his Pokemon journey.

Robert has walked until the sunset. All of a sudden, he feels as if he has been lifted. He looks down, and a diglett is staring at him. It tries to shake Robert off. "Alright then, if you want to be that way" Robert murmured to himself "let's battle... Go! Leon!" He sends out his Trapinch. It stands ready to fight. The diglett strikes first, using an astonish attack. Trapinch flinched. "Leon, use bite attack!" Robert commanded. The trapinch takes diglett, and uses its' jaws to throw the diglett. It lies there motionless. "I can do it, this is great, I'll catch my first Pokemon" Robert thought to himself, but before he made a move, the diglett, digs back into the desert sand. Astonished Robert commands his trapinch to use another bite attack, "This time, take a huge bite of it, like you did phanpy!". The trapinch lunges towards the diglett. It burrows into the desert, and resurfaces. There is now a huge pit it the sand, made by Leon's bite attack. Robert, in a fit of rage, clutches a Poke Ball, and throws it, major league base-ball style at the diglett, which appears astonished.

    Name: Tristan Liola

    Age: 17

    Gender: Male

Appearance: Tristan is a slender boy of about 5'7". His hair is a dark brown, almost black, and is usually cropped short with a few strands over his forehead. His chocolate brown eyes almost never have high lights or bright spots, even in the best lighting. His face has a roundish appearance, with him being a well-fed, yet fit, young man, and is adorned by a short, scruffy beard. Tristan's skin is fair because of the dark clouds that constantly shield the icy region from the sun. However, his skin still has a slightly rosy peach color to it.

Despite the fact that his wardrobe is dominated by fur coats, shirts, pants, and scarves in some shade of blue or white, and many pairs of thick thermal pants and undershirts, Tristan can always be seen wearing red. Be it a simple bracelet or a poinsettia tucked into the lapel of his best suit, Tristan wears his favorite color with pride. However, Tristan's usual attire consists of a thick, fur-lined jacket over a pale blue sweatshirt, a heavy, wool, navy scarf, and navy cargo pants tucked into hiking boots.

History: Tristan was born on December 13 in the hospital of Snowpoint City. His parents, Mariana and Jack Liola, were both well-respected breeders in the Sinnoh region, owned a large ranch on the outskirts of the city where they raised a variety of ice types, with a large portion of their stock being Swinub and its evolutions. Being an only child, Tristan found companionship with the smaller pokemon, such as Smoochum and Swinub. When he turned seven, Tristan began helping around the ranch, typically feeding and grooming some of the pokemon. However, he soon took to working in the nursery, where he would spend hours playing with the babies and tending to the eggs. It was during one of the more mild summers that an unusually large egg hatched into a particularly large Swinub while Tristan polished it. On his fourteenth birthday, Jack gave Tristan his first pokeball, which allowed Tristan to officially claim Mama Moo, as he had affectionately nicknamed her.

A year later, Tristan set out to capture and become a breeder of the ice type, just like his parents. For a year and a half, he searched far and wide to find ice type pokemon, but the harder he searched, the more it seemed that they had eluded him. Finally, Tristan and Moo stumbled into a land where snow and ice permanently blanketed the ground and ice types were the norm, while other pokemon were few and far between. It was there, in the Ice Realm, as he was later told it was called, that he and Moo began to build their own ranch made from the trunks of felled conifers and compacted snow.
RP Sample: Tristan knelt to examine the shallow footprints that the Snorunt had left in the fine powder. It hadn't been too long ago when he had spotted it again, but it was getting better and better at covering up its tracks. The foot prints were hardly noticeable in the falling sunlight, and what was worse was that the little thing had dusted over them with some of the snow. After three days, the hunt was getting tiresome and his patience was wearing thin. Tristan reached his hand into the pocket of his jacket and pulled out a small pokeball with a snowflake sticker pressed on its top. He gently tapped the front button to enlarge the sphere and then pressed it harder, forcing the top to pop and flip open. From within the hollow of the pokeball a bright energy emerged and took the shape of a large mass of fur.
"Okay, Moo, we're tracking a Snorunt. Use your Odor Sleuth and follow the trail." The pokemon raised her pink piggy nose to Tristan and let out a soft moo. Then, she set her nose to the ground where it glowed briefly before she hurried off into the snow drifts. Tristan jogged to keep pace with companion, knowing all too well that once a Swinub had set tracking, its stubby legs could carry it faster than anyone could imagine. A little more than fifteen minutes later, Moo had led Tristan to the edge of a small wood. The ground was clear of snow, the branches of the firs and pines sheltering the earth from the lightly falling powder. He watched as Moo sniffed her way across the clearing, her head poking into the roots of one of the larger trees, and then as she poked her head back out and let out a high pitch squeal. Tristan jogged over to the tree and knelt down, scratching Moo's head in praise. He studied the roots and found that they made a small makeshift shelter and, upon closer inspection, found a small bundle of yellow fur shivering in the crook of the tree's base. With a gloved hand, Tristan reached in and stroked the small creature. "It'll be alright, little guy. It'll be alright."

[[OOC: Hope it's not too long. Had fun with this. Peace out!]]

His name was Fraco, and he and his silly spearow had been flying around, acting as if they were better than Kelani and her doduo, since before she could even remember. He'd probably fallen out his momma's womb laughing her name with that stupid sneer on his face. Kelani loathed him!

But the priests at the temple had always listened to her angry complaints with thoughtful faces, following up her enraged "huffs" and "puffs" with slow nods and a speech about understanding others and pitying those who felt pain and hatred were the only ways to gain what one wanted.

Every single time Kelani had gone to the temple to vent her frustrations to the priests, she'd walked away discouraged. In all other matters, she felt she could follow the priests' words as if they were law—notes sung by the mythical birds themselves, woven together into phrases of understanding, and love, and strength. But no, this was definitely the one (and possibly only) area where Kelani felt with all her good sense that the priests had no idea what they were talking about.

Fraco and his nasty little girl spearow—which he'd lovingly named Clio—were always bothering Kelani, Colm and Ionas. They made fun of Colm and Ionas, saying their white feathers made them inferior to other bird pokemon. They made fun of Kelani, saying her golden eyebrows matched the "hideous white feathers" on her pokemon's forehead. They even made fun of Kelani's advanced ability to fly and manipulate clouds, calling her an "old woman" and a "freak" and a "witch."

In classes, when they'd first been learning how to fly with their chosen starters, Fraco had sat behind Kelani and tried to distract her, pulling on her long hair and letting his spearow tug on Colm and Ionas' tail feathers. Clio and Fraco would whisper and chirp in their ears to try and mess Kelani, Ionas and Colm up in class, but they hadn't let it get to them, and in the end the trio were the best fliers in the whole school. So good in fact, that they were graduated early, and allowed to live on their own in a house they'd constructed from the clouds. That'd been a rather happy day for Kelani, since the whole town had come to celebrate—even Fraco and his family. She'd gotten to rub her new home in his face, and eat cake, all at the same time!

But now the jerk was standing here, having just graduated from school a few weeks prior, demanding that he and his precious Clio battle Kelani and Ionas and Colm. Kelani had been halfway to her house with a basket of berries she'd flown down on the doduo to get. It hadn't been a fun trip, thanks to a bunch of beedrill getting annoyed at her presence, and she wasn't much in the mood to pacify Fraco of all people.

"I don't feel much like battling today," she relayed to Fraco, turning back the way she'd been walking. The clouds shifted under her, allowing Ionas, Colm, and herself to walk freely towards her parent's home.

"So the witch is scared she and her amazing freak pokemon are going to loose to me and Clio?" Fraco belted after them in a snotty voice. "Retreating before you even lose huh? Smart choice."

But Kelani and the birds were far from retreating. Kelani had stopped at "witch", while Ionas and Colm had made it a few feet further before hearing "freak pokemon". It was just too much for them, and so all three turned around, eyes blazing, and stomped back over to where Fraco was standing.

Upon seeing their return, Fraco took on a smug look, with the sleek little spearow on his shoulder chirping in a rather cocky manner. Kelani gritted her teeth—there were so many times she had wanted to punch this little brat out.

He was shorter than her, with thick black hair, but just as tan as Kelani from his time in the sun. He wore goggles at all times, since they doubled as his glasses, and his outfit, right now at least, consisted of dark blue pants, a light blue sleeveless shirt, and a white sleeveless shirt beneath it.

Around his neck Fraco wore a thick black string, from which hung a dark brown feather (Kelani always assumed it was from Clio's first molt) and a yellow feather. This showed his preference for Zapdos, the legendary bird of uncontrollable power, and Kelani had always detested him particularly for that. The birds were meant to be worshipped as a triad—their strengths and weaknesses balancing each other out to create controlled beauty and power and foresight. Those who chose only one to live by seemed particularly lost to Kelani.

She said a silent prayer to the three birds now, reaching up to squeeze the three feathers around her neck, asking the legendary trio to give her strength for the battle ahead. Behind her, Colm and Ionas bowed their heads in similar prayers. They'd all stopped in front of Fraco, and when Kelani looked up, his spearow had hopped off his shoulder to land on the clouds in front of him.

"Alright then," Kelani finally said, "if you're so determined to get beat, Ionas and Colm will fight your Clio."

Fraco grinned wide, pumping his fist in an exaggerated motion. Kelani took a deep breath, bringing her arms up slowly. Around them, the clouds shifted, then began to swirl. Fraco wasn't surprised—clouds moved all the time up here, and Kelani was known to be an excellent cloud shifter. The space between them grew wider as Kelani took another deep breath, bringing her arms up in front, palms up towards the sky.

Fraco and Clio's forms were transported upon the clouds about 20 more feet back, and then the shifting stopped. Kelani's arms fell, and then she turned slowly to Ionas and Colm. They chirped softly at her before stepping forward into the newly made arena.

Kelani thought carefully about the situation they were in. Clio couldn't be too strong—level 5 at the most. She'd probably know Peck, Fly, and possibly Leer. Ionas and Colm knew Peck, Fly, and Quick Attack, and they'd had plenty of time to practice with their days not spent full of class-hours. She smiled—this was going to be a cakewalk.

"Let's start!" Fraco yelled across the sky. "Clio! Fly at them, quick!"

The spearow gave a chirp before launching into the air. It was quick—something that surprised Kelani for a moment. She regained composer quickly however.

    What he doesn't know,
Kelani thought with a laugh, is that Ionas and Colm are the fastest runners these clouds have ever seen.

And indeed, without any instruction from Kelani, the doduo dodged the tiny spearow easily, running forward, backwards, and even side to side across the clouds in rapid sprints.

Clio screeched in frustration, reaching her talons out in a desperate attempt to clamp onto something, but Ionas and Colm were always out of her reach. Kelani could see Fraco getting visibly upset across the field.

"That's enough," she called out to Ionas and Colm.

They skidded to a halt, Ionas' chain clinking against his chest. She could see a breeze rustling their white feathers for a long moment. Kelani's hand came up to hold down the three feathers on her own chest, that were tickling her slightly in the breeze. It all seemed to last an eternity, but in truth it was only a moment, and then Kelani was rapidly calling out orders.

"Ionas, shift over and start Flying. Colm—while he's concentrating, I want you to focus on using a Quick Attack to knock that stupid spearow into submission! Aim for its wings!"

"Stupid spearow?!" Fraco fumed, his arms coming down to form fists by his sides.

Above her head, Kelani heard Clio practically hiss.

"Clio! Start working on hitting those two freaks with your Peck attack! Guard your gorgeous wings from them too!"

    Kelani rolled her eyes.

Meanwhile, Ionas and Colm had heard Kelani's orders, cocking their heads to the side before replying with a swift nod. They skipped forward a few steps, deftly dodging another attempted attack by Clio, before making a full U-turn and sprinting full force towards Kelani. It seemed they were about to hit her, and even Fraco almost called out in warning, then all at once they were airborne, wiggling into the air with an impossible force, and circling around to Fly towards Clio.

In the air, Kelani could see Com trying to judge when to start his Quick Attack. Once started, the doduo would reach a high speed, and it wouldn't be good to miss Clio and sail right by her. His eyes squinted in concentration.

"Alley-oop!" Fraco cried out of the blue.

Before Kelani could even attempt to figure out what that particular phrase meant, she heard Colm give out a sharp cry. Clio had dived down at a blinding speed, before coming up under Colm and whipping upward to slice at his neck with a Peck. Colm's neck bent downward in reflex, attempting to stop the pain. Ionas was still focusing on Flying, but Kelani could see he was upset.

"Yessss!" Fraco cried, fist pumping the air.

Ionas and Colm were the fastest runners up here in the clouds, but nowhere near the fastest flyers. Their body shape had always put them at a disadvantage to the other birds, and Kelani had been hoping that the mid-air Quick Attack would give them the extra boost of speed they'd need to defeat Clio.

"C'mon guys!" she called up to them. "The strength of the legendary triad is with us! Don't let that cut stop you—I've seen you take worse damage from Prennah!"

Prennah was Kelani's younger sister's pidgey, whom Ionas and Colm often play-sparred with. The mixed message of encouragement seemed to work, and Colm slowly stretched out his head as Ionas dodged another attack from Clio. Kelani could see they need to end this soon, or get it back on the cloud-ground. It seemed the latter wasn't going to happen anytime soon, so it was up to the Quick Attack to pull them through.

"Alright Colm! Just like I said before—aim for Clio's wings with a Quick Attack!"

"Clio!" Fraco shouted, obviously unsure what to say as his pokemon was currently using its only two attacks. "Keep at it! You got em once, do it one more time and they'll be out!"

But Kelani could see now that Colm had his eyes focused on Clio. No matter where she moved, Colm's eyes followed her.

Clio flew at them again, gaining speed as she approached, and Colm took the opportunity. Kelani had thought Clio was going fast, but when the Quick Attack went into action, the large round body of Ionas and Colm became a white and brown blur. The bodies met in a tangling of brown, black, and white. She heard a high pitch whine, and a loud screech. Her breath caught in her throat for one long moment.

On the other side of the field, Fraco was in stunned disbelief. He leaned in carefully, adjusting his goggles against his face, searching for his precious pokemon.

And from the sky fell Clio, screaming dramatically, several feathers missing from her left wing. Above her floated Ionas and Colm, who chirped happily before crying out a rousing call.

"Do!" Colm called defiantly. The vibrations knocked his necklace about, and the breeze caught his feather, blowing it around his face.

"Duo!" Ionas followed up, with just as much gusto, his eyes blurred slightly by the white joyfully shifting around his face in the wind.

They stay floating for a minute more, watching Fraco rush forward and tend to his fallen friend, before circling twice and landing deftly next to Kelani. She patted them each, before walking forward to confront Fraco. He was kneeling down over Clio, telling her it would all be okay. Kelani sighed loudly, causing him to turn his head and look at her in a rather accusatory manner.

"This isn't over," he hissed, picking up Clio in his arms and turning away from Kelani.

But he was dead wrong. As far as Kelani was concerned, this was as over as it could possibly be. She figured he was too stubborn to realize this, but figured she had nothing to lose by informing him of the fact. With Ionas and Colm chirping encouragement behind her, she grabbed Fraco's shoulder and whipped him about. His face was part devastation, part disbelief, but he said nothing as she spoke.

"Don't ever," Kelani said, in a manner suggesting she knew he wasn't going to listen, but she was going to say it anyway and he better listen if he knew what was good for him, "bug me, Ionas, or Colm, or call my pokemon freaks again, or I'll kick your butt like Ionas and Colm just kicked Clio's butt."

And with that, Kelani turned, and walked away to pick up her basket of berries and head to her parent's home, all the while praising Ionas and Colm and telling them how amazing they'd been in battle, and singing thanks into the sky for their victory.

Robert continues to walk along the desert path. A sandstorm nears. Knowing this, he immediately sends out his trapinch, using it to dig a hole in the dirt to wait out the storm. After five feet of digging, he falls into a large cave full of sandshrew. A lake is at the left of him, further left is a waterfall, and rapids, which lead the the way he came from. Out of the water, comes a mudkip, which shoots water at him. He wanders if it came from the water fall. He then thought "Hey, if I had a water type,-like my father said, I could easily defeat most trainers here!" he then says aloud "Leon, use bite attack!". The trapinch took a lunge at the mudkip, making a large gash in its' back. The mudkip is cringing, unable to get up. "Leon, quickly, before it gets up, use rock smash!" The trapinch did as told, and knocked out the mudkip, which made a quick aerial recovery, and then a mudslap attack. Trapinch now has dirt in its' eyes, and digs in the ground. "No, Leon, I didn't tell you to dig!" the boy yelled. Mudkip is now confused. The trapinch plucked its' head out and used bite. The mudkip fell to the ground, and Robert throws another Poke Ball.
