  • Obviously we're (mostly) excited about the idea of R/S coming back in full, but what were some of the little charms that you really want to see again?

For me, it's be Secret Bases (fun fact: apparently they were all based off Greek letters!). I spent ages as a kid picking mine and decorating it with nice things and I'd love to be able to do that again.

    How about you?

Secret Bases, Pokéblocks, Pokémon Contests. I'd be really happy with them all being back!

  • Trumpets obviously!

No, I'd love to see Berry picking return, although it's only a minor feature it was fun to roam the Region picking up the berries as you went along. Oh and Match Call was really fun too!

I agree with those above saying that Pokemon following you needs to return. It was my favourite feature from HGSS and was disappointed it was scrapped.

As for features that were present in gen 3, I'd quite like the return of an actual Safari Zone. Having to hunt around for an excessive number of friends to get access to certain Pokemon in the friend Safari in X and Y just isn't fun.

  • From the 3rd gen hope they bring back the contest (I had fun with those) -
(and from current 6th gen to keep Amie)....

with those two I'd be much happier than happy.

edit: 5-17 - I hope they keep the option of choosing between 7 different languages, hope they add more.

    - Pokemon following you
    - Amazing Trick House
    - Contests
    - Battle Frontier
    - Not a Gen III thing, but I'd like to see poffins return
    - Not a Gen III thing, but I'd like to see PokeBall seals return
    - Fun post-game stuff to do
    - Interesting evil team (I guess we're getting Magma/Aqua back, I hope they're more of an entity then Flare were)
    - Interesting rivals. Preferably they won't be your friends. Maybe they could be a rookie member of Team Magma/Aqua who rise through the ranks as you progress through the game?

  • Am I the only one who was never actually in love with the secret bases? I mean it's a neat concept, and I think they should still be brought back, but I just never enjoyed them as much as most people seem to have D: If they expanded on them in someway though, then I might be more interested in checking them out :o

I would love to say braille puzzles, but to be honest, I doubt they'll have the same effect as they did in the originals. It was an entirely new concept, and one that required you to do a bit more research and spend a bit more time on the puzzles than you normally had to with most other legendary puzzles (granted you didn't just look up what to do), and I really felt like it's one of the best puzzles to find legendaries that the franchise has brought us so far. But since people are completely aware of what they'd have to do now, I don't think it'll provide as much difficulty in figuring it out as it used to, so I'd honestly rather try to see them bring in a new and fresh kind of puzzle. But I guess making legendaries harder to reach is one of the things I'd like to see return.

Obviously I want Pokemon to follow you again, nothing to add there. I guess the roller skates from XY would be awesome to see too. Even though I haven't actually played the games yet, and thus never used them, it just seems like a great concept.

Other than that, not much else I can think of right now. I'll definitely post more once I think of it though 8D

  • I'd love to see the return of bases, with Wi-Fi functionality. I never got into bases, as I had no friends with the games, but if I could he visits from online, I'd definetly decorate it. I'd also love to see some new Trick Room houses, the Return of Walking pokemon, and a better distribution of Mega forms (Give Spinda and Breloom one, please. Some Gen V ones would be nice too!).

  • -Water reflections (particularly in Petalburg City)
-scenic eyecatches (that appear when you first enter a building; despite originally being from Pokemon FireRed/LeafGreen)
-the little girl at Slateport City Seashore House who says ""Yo Trainer! Whether you're hot to trot or cool cat not, chill at my papa's spot!"
-the Mauville Game Corner (as Game Corners seem to have been excised post-HeartGold/SoulSilver, I really wonder whether the casino will return with slot machines, roulette, Voltorb Flip, or a mini-game where you have to collect coins off the floor, or what
    -Dewford City's Trendy Phrases
-every single Easy Chat System phrase for the Hoenn Battle Frontier (what the Trainers say right before they battle you, when they win, and when they lose)
-Tucker's moonwalking overworld animation from Pokemon Emerald
-the Team Aqua Grunt who incredulously says, of all things, "Grah, keelhaul it all!"
-the ability to use Cut in the overworld and cut the patches of wild grass where Pokemon can be encountered
-the "Drought" and "Heavy Rain" songs, preferably in the same game
-Vicky Winstrate (of the Winstrate Family) mentioning that she's going to slap you for making her grand-daughter (due to defeating said grand-daughter)
    -Ribbons
    -Trainers' Eyes entries
    -Flannery's midriff
-the availability of Apricorn Balls from Johto
    -walking Pokemon/the follow-me feature
-the frames used as borders for the menus of Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire
    -the e-Reader Berries
-remastered Legendary Dog (Entei/Suicune/Raikou) battle theme music from Generation 2
-Navel Rock, Southern Island, Birth Island
-Regi dolls (and having them be obtainable everywhere, not just in Japan)
-the Hoenn Battle Tower apprentice feature from Pokemon Emerald (implementation of the English variant and the Japanese variant, as they differ a bit)
-the Trainers from the Trainer Hill (international variant, and the Japanese-edition variant)
-from Pokemon Emerald Version, the feature where your friends can appear as partners in the Battle Tower's Battle Salon or as foes in the Battle Tower itself, maybe expanded to have them appear in other battle facilities as well
-Pokemon Emerald's "faulty" pseudo-random number generator (PRNG) :P
    -Mirage Island

    Eon Ticket
    Pokémon dolls
BW protagonists in some Champion or GSC Red of Mt Silver capacity
    Unown numbers...
    Braille puzzles
Professor Birch cornered at a tree by a Wurmple or two

Agreed, although I hope the Eon Ticket is a non-event thing this time.

    - Pokemon following you
    - Amazing Trick House
    - Contests
    - Battle Frontier

This. Not sure about the "rival as Team Magma/Aqua member" (who I would want to be separate entity from Wally), although that would be a neat unexpected twist if such a new character was introduced...

How can you not love Secret Bases? :o XD Although I guess the novelty of them (like the hop mats and music mats) may wear off for some people, the Secret Base battles felt compelling to me (although it required mixing Records, which could take a while for some people), as they provided oodles of Experience Points! Maybe Game Freak could remove the limit of only doing one Secret Base battle per day (unless you mixed records again within the same day..) to provide more incentive? I have a feeling that mixing Records will be much easier in Generation 6, due to better wireless/Internet connectivity interactions..

I want the Secret bases to come back and the Contests of course!!!

Oh, and the VS Seeker >_> but this was in FRLG and Emerald tho lol ^_^

I just hope that rematches can be scheduled with Trainers and Gym Leaders better, rather than forcing you to wait for an indeterminate/random amount of time via Trainer's Eyes/Match Call.

  • Oh my god I forgot about trick house! Those were so fun!

A VS Seeker would be cool too, or some method of rematching Gym Leaders/EliteFour, like in HGSSPt.
