So one more update before I go to bed, the randomizer has been nice to me with the water pokemon it throws at me in the wild, I run around areas for probably a dozen or so encounters just to make sure I have seen everything. The fast forward button makes my progress quick, I have just defeated Erika and the Rocket Hideout in the Game Corner.

Misty, the Bug type Gym leader, Lt. Surge, the normal type gym leader, and Erika, the ghost gym leader were all taken down and appropriate badges given out. Team at the moment in no particular order:

    Monstro, the Quirky Wailmer
    Level 23
    Ability: Insomnia
    Perish Song
    Muddy Water
    Supersonic
    Dizzy Punch

Gully, the Rash Wingull (Who I will not allow to evolve at the moment because Wingull is just too awesome)
    Level 32
    Ability: Liquid Ooze
    Drill Peck
    Aeroblast
    Water Spout
    Aerial Ace

    Flashlight, the Quirky Lanturn
    Level 30
    Ability: Speed Boost
    Hydro Pump
    Thundershock
    Stockpile
    Spark

    Lord Helix, the Quiet Omanyte
    Level 27
    Ability: Swift Swim
    Rock Slide
    Ancientpower
    Rock Tomb
    Water Spout

    Karl, the Hardy Barboach
    Level 27
    Ability; Rain Dish
    Water Pulse
    Hydro Cannon
    Earthquake
    Shock Wave

Jerry, the Lax Tentacool (Who I wish I could sub out for my Staryu that I just caught but sadly hes the only one capable of learning Cut)
    Level 16
    Ability: Suction Cups
    Poison Tail
    Cut
    Crunch
    Hydro Cannon

Can't wait to get surf, my entire team will be eternally grateful for a water move with 15 PP with high power and accuracy. Tomorrow I may very well finish the game, as I have nothing to do tomorrow and fast forward button and all that so we'll see how that goes lol

    Update for tonight so far:

Obtained SoulBadge, MarshBadge, and VolcanoBadge, my Whiscash put in a lot of work since he was super effective to just about all the gym leaders' pokemon.

Koga actually stuck to his poison type, which I found amusing, he didn't put up that much of a fight. Sabrina was electric type, rockin' two pikachus, a minun, and a raichu. Earthquake one shot just about all of them. Blaine was steel type, and went down rather quickly to Whiscash and co.

Giovanni in Silph Co provided quite a sticking point, and his gym is even worse. Giovanni is running dragons, his team in Silph Co was a Latios, Latias, Rayquaza, and Kingdra. His gym is full of dragon types, I might be in for some grinding of my new Sealeo.

    Team as it stands:

    Lord Helix, the Quiet Omanyte
    Level 39
    Ability: Swift Swim
    Rock Slide
    AncientPower
    Surf
    Luster Purge

    Moustachio, the Serious Sealeo
    Level 39
    Ability: Volt Absorb
    Magnitude
    Aurora Beam
    Strength
    Surf

    Karl, the Hardy Whiscash
    Level 41
    Ability: Swift Swim
    Water Pulse
    Surf
    Earthquake
    Shock Wave

    Flashlight, the Quirky Lanturn
    Level 37
    Ability: Speed Boost
    Surf
    Thundershock
    Octozooka
    Spark

    Gully, the Rash Pelipper
    Level 39
    Ability: Lightningrod
    Fly
    Aeroblast
    Surf
    Aerial Ace

    Jerry, the Lax Tentacool
    Level 16
    Ability: Suction Cups
    Poison Tail
    Cut
    Surf
    Crunch

Gonna try to beat Giovanni tonight. Wish me luck.'

Update: Elite 4 and Champion Defeated! Lorelei was packing water pokemon and had a lapras with milk drink that was the bane of my existance. Bruno had rock pokemon, and he went down kind of easily. Agatha had ice pokemon, with her ace being an Articuno, and Lance, I lucked out, and he had bug pokemon, after all the dragon types I had to deal with on the way to the Elite 4, I was very happy with this development. His ace was a Shedinja. Gary had fighting pokemon with the exception of his ace, which was a Crobat that I saw use Swords Dance, Aerial Ace, and Aeroblast. After a long hard fought battle, I defeated him, clearing the challenge. On to continuing Crystal on my phone at work!

  • Emerald ground type update.

I've obtained four badges so far. Marshtomp had to solo the first 3 gyms, which he did with ease. After Watson I caught a Numel, and then I took on Flannery which opened up quite a few new options in the desert.

    Current team:
    Marshtomp (Lv. 33)
    Numel (Lv. 32)
    Trapinch (Lv. 27)
    Baltoy (Lv. 21)

    Crystal Water Type Update.

Haven't played as much as I should've, been doing other challenges, and spend more time on my lunch break sleeping in my car than I should. But I managed to make a little progress tonight, defeating Whitney for my third Gym Badge.

    Team as it Stands:

    BobTheDuck, Psyduck Level 16
    Scratch, Tail Whip, Disable, Confusion

    Polypunch, the Poliwag Level 20
    Bubble, Hypnosis, Water Gun, Doubleslap

    Gatorface, the Croconaw Level 24
    Bite, Cut, Rage, Water Gun

Normally Whitney's Miltank can give me a little bit of trouble, but her Clefairy spent so much time Doubleslapping Croconaw while Rage was up, his rage kept building and building, and he just took it out on the poor Miltank, two shotting it.

Gonna try to make some more progress tomorrow.

Once again i'm going to shelf Expert Emerald. With the announcement i've recently seen of the remake of Ruby and Sapphire i'm going to buy and play that one with this challenge :)
I'll be resuming my progress with Pokemon Blaze Black for the time being I can't find my charger... soooo i'll be starting on Pokemon X (note if it doesn't come out at its expected release i'll probably just end up doing expert emerald)

Going to start this soon! Can't wait!
    :)

Edit: Psychic was too boring, and i could never do an ultimate, so i'm going to change to single, poision type, and change game to platinum.

I also wish i could take good pictures right off screen. Sadly not using emulator so no screenshots/bad quality.

Since I had nothing to do, I completed the run.
    Progress on Grass Red:
-Beat SS Anne trainers and got Cut.
    -Beat Surge.
    -Midori evolved to Venusaur.
    -Beat Giovanni.
    -Beat Erika.
    -Got Fly.
    -Beat Pokemon Tower.
-Beat Safari Zone to obtain Surf and Strength, and caught myself Ovum the Exeggcute on the way.
-Grinded with some trainers and wild Pokemon.
    -Beat Koga.
    -Beat Giovanni again.
    -Beat Dojo.
    -Beat Sabrina.
    -Beat Pokemon Mansion.
    -Beat Blaine.
-Beat Giovanni for the last time.
    -Got to Pokemon League.
    -Lorelei went down to Midori.
    -Bruno was easy for Ovum.
    -As was Agatha.
-Lance went down to Growth x3 + Razor Leaf spam combo of Midori.
-Blue's first Pokemons were wiped out by Ovum, until Alakazam knocked it out. Midori took the job and finished it.

I can't post pictures yet, when I get to post, I will post the Hall of Fame pictures. Here is the last team anyway:

    Midori the Venusaur
    Lvl 67
-Definitely MVP, was both my main defense and offense.

    Symbiotic the Parasect
    Lvl 58
-Unfortunately LVP, failed to prove its worth. Was good against Psychic and Ghost types around Sabrina's time, but easily went down to Fire, Flying and Poison attacks.

    Luna the Vileplume
    Lvl 65
-Good defensive. Petal Dance was a total murderer.

    Ovum the Exeggutor
    Lvl 62
-Even though coming a bit late, helped with the Poison types very well. Was worth to all the painful grinding done.

I think I'll do another Grass one on Crystal. I don't like 4th gen onward because of slow progress of story and stuff. I also don't have X/Y but maybe I'll go for 3rd gen after this one.

After a couple days of no pokemon games, went back to the Crystal Water Run. One thing I've noticed, it's a pain in the butt to get water stones in Crystal, stuck waiting on the fisherman to call me that he found some, and theres only one for sure one in Kanto that I know of. And I have 3 pokemon waiting for a stone. So yeah...

I am currently on the Elite 4, after having an intense battle with Clair that went down to the last pokemon. My Kingler (or as I call him Emergency Backup Plan Alpha Theta Beta because of his use of Guillotine) was saddened when he couldnt Guillotine Kingdra. But life goes on, and we managed to get it down. Team so far:

    The Monotype Challenge

    Polypunch, the Poliwhirl
    Level 41
    Surf
    Hypnosis
    Water Gun
    Ice Punch

    The Monotype Challenge

    KingKrab, the Kingler
    Level 40
    Guillotine
    Surf
    Whirlpool
    Stomp

    The Monotype Challenge

    Gatorface, the Feraligatr
    Level 43
    Bite
    Cut
    Fury Cutter
    Surf

    The Monotype Challenge

    Jim, the Staryu
    Level 39
    Surf
    Bubblebeam
    Swift
    Recover

    The Monotype Challenge

    Bruce, the Shiny Gyarados
    Level 38
    Thrash
    Waterfall
    Dragon Rage
    Strength

I have a 6th spot open for when I get my first Water Stone, so I can evolve the Eevee I have sitting in my PC. But with my luck, who knows when that will be XD I also need to get a better moveset for Feraligatr, Rage had its uses before, but has since worn out its welcome, and need more type coverage. Will update again once I defeat the Elite 4.

EDIT: Actually defeated Lance! Polypunch was actually the MVP, when there were thoughts of boxing him at one point when he was only a Poliwag, every one of Lance's Dragonites fell to Hypnosis and Ice Punch til dead. Just gonna update the levels up above. Unfortunately couldnt get a screenshot at the end, but I'll make sure I get one when I beat Red, harder to do it on my phone lol

Grass Crystal Progress up to now:

-Chose Chikorita, and named it Midori like my Venusaur before it.
    -Did Elm's errand and stuff.
    -Caught Flora the Hoppip.
-Flora was hard to train because of not knowing an attacking move.
    -When Flora learned Tackle, continued.
    -Caught Orbis the Bellsprout.
    -Midori evolved into Bayleef.
    -Got through Sprout Tower.
    -Beat Falkner rather easily.
    -Flora evolved into Skiploom.
    -Got through Union Cave.
-Defeated Team Rocket in Slowpoke Well.
    -Orbis evolved into Weepinbell.
-Azalea was definitely harder than Falkner. Kakuna and Metapod was easy, but Scyther was a problem. Though Flora with Midori's Reflect managed to beat it.
    -Defeated Silver.
-In the Forest, caught two Oddishes, Sola and Luna.
-Union Cave's bottom floor Onixes helped out really fine with training.
    -Both evolved into Gloom.
-After thinking, I decided leaving Orbis in box for now is a better choice. Since he has no special thing and going with a HM Slave is better, and I have the last spot reserved for Exeggutor, I boxed it. Probably gonna withdraw before Pokemon League then box it and withdraw it again before Red.
-About to get Cut HM now.

Not feeling so confident as I enter my first gym with only BeeDrill... And with no other pokemon options since some dits is blocking my only path to Budew (the second Poison option, and a good one later on) (boxed and wonder traded away my starter for those who dream of getting a starter pokemon in their wonder trade challenges, figured it'd be for the best)
I will venture forth and battle everyone i can on rt22 for training since i'm going to solo a gym leader with a pokemon i don't have a lot of faith in at such low levels.
Oh -- in the spirit of random names I named my guy, Trystan (Nicknamed Smith because GEN VI's silly, and I made each naming field a random name)
My Beedrill is nicknamed Oiva (boy's name... wewt randomness)
Also in the love of random i rolled a dice for my skin color/look w/e and everything else that was supposed to be something i pick myself.
    ...
    Update:
Going into the gym leader fight with my only poison type so far available in the game (I don't like doing duplicates)
    Oiva/Beedrill
    Spoiler:

    Gym Battle log:
    Spoiler:

I found this battle not much different from a typical trainer battle. I would not have required a potion had she not used a potion first ;p
With that said I've got the first badge so far and i'm on to collect my Beloved Budew
Oiva learned Infestation (cause... why not)
    Update#2
After a half hour of RNG nonesense i finally found a BUDEW of whom i caught (lvl 8) and named Macie....
I'll be training it to match my Beedrill and then i'll finally move on to the next area etc.
    Update#3
TOTALLY forgot about the free Bulbasaur they give you in the big city from the prof after his silly little battle. So.... Might not keep Budew (depends on what happens later on i suppose we'll see) I named Bulbasaur Gorou which means Fifth Son in Japanese (still random)
    Update#4
I caught a Gulpin (lvl10) and named him Zhubin. I've never had a Gulpin so we'll see how he pans out with his poison powers.
