Selene smiled at Vince as he whispered to her, about to whisper the reply that she wanted to go somewhere were her life wouldn't be endangered when suddenly a large square thing collided with the side of his face, missing Sel's by a mere inch, and knocked him onto the floor off his chair. She shot up, knocking her chair over in the process ready to help him up but Vince was already back on his feet a...WHAT?! Did he have some loose wiring in his head or something? He'd just thrown the book back at Lt. Surge!!!
"Luna! Why the hell did you do that!" hissed Selene as Lt Surge sighed and put the book away before turning to the board, his back to the class and scribbling something on it. She rolled her eyes - freaking testosterone - before pausing and considering Vince's original question...Lugia dorm or Beach...she had to admit, the idea of what was awaiting them in that old abandoned building kind of creeped her out...but it would be better than the beach for Mark. And she could still train Ryan up...with a small nod she said, somewhat nervously, "the Lugia dorm sounds good...that is if we don't die in this class first..."
"Right, so seeing as we have the incapacitated and the braindead in this class," said Lt Surge as he turned around, glaring at Selene and Vince - and Sel couldn't help but suspect that Lt. Surge would have it in for them in future, and probably Ty too seeing as he was sat near them - "I'll cut the laps out for now, and we'll go through some core theory before I get you moving. Who knows the sets of muscles in the abdonimal area and who can tell me why they are called the Core?"
Selene looked around for a moment...when it seemed no-one was going to volunteer an answer she raised a hand tentatively and Lt Surge nodded brusely towards her, almost looking shocked that she was going to answer. "Well...there are the Transversus and Rectus Abdominis and the Obliques, internal and external...and they're important because...well, they are the Core. They are really important for our posture and how we can participate in other exercises...and also they have a part in the breathing process too...so they're pretty much the foundational muscles in our bodies," Lt Surge nodded, seeming slightly impressed despite himself.
"Yes...execpt it's the Transversus Abdominis and the Rectus Abdominus but apart from that you're spot on - if you don't have a strong set of Core muscles, any other exercise you do will not be as effective and could, in some instances, lead to accidental and preventable injury. Now, who knows what we can do to strengthen our Core?"
Brogan
Despite herself, Brogan couldn't help but be slightly impressed by Blaze's display...that was some inventive thinking right there...perhaps Jack was more than just a pretty face after all. Of course, he was nowhere near her league...but out of everyone she'd met so far he was probably the closest to her own level. If she had to stay here she may as well make something resembling an acquaintance.
To this end, Brogan watched as Fantina droned on and on and on about battling and beautiful moves and beautiful accessories and conditions and blah blah blah blah...to her, it sounded as though Contests could be won so easily with money. And Brogan had plenty of that...this was ridiculous. How would this end up helping her with HoTa Corp...unless her father secured more contest halls for clients, but she already knew PR. She didn't need to know about contests themselves to know how to do their PR...
Leaning closer to Jack, eyes still fixed on the scene in front of her, Brogan whispered "you know...we could get out of here while her back is turned...don't try to tell me you're actually listening to a word she's saying because you look as bored as I feel..." and she really hoped he agreed - any longer in here and she'd be getting Squirtle to cover her in mud to relieve her boredom...well, maybe not that far, but she'd make a point of leaving herself even if Jack didn't opt to come with her.
