I was never that into Halloween. I'm not a candy person. I like chocolate, not candy,; but the majority of my haul was also candy. T_T;
I would also get scared easily. Still do. One night I was absolutely terrified. I never liked people jumping out bushes dressed up like half-eating clowns when all I wanted was some chocolate.
One of my last years I almost got in a lot of trouble. The group in front of me was impatient, so they decided to break into the house and help themselves to candy. Naturally, whoever was in the house ran downstairs freaked out. And of course she loks right and me and my brother. XD I didn't know what to say. I said, "Happy Halloween, madame. It was them. Can we have some candy?"
My friends wouldn't come into my area of the neighbourhood, and they would never invite me to tag along anyway. So, I was always on my own with my brother. Occasionally with my neighbour too. My dad was usually out of town on business on Halloween so I would take my brother out on my own, or when we were younger my aunt would take us out trick or treating, while my mom would man the door.
In recent years, I just stay home. Play some creepy video game music at a high volume for when I answer the door. Watch all the Simpsons Halloween specials. And eat non-chilli-chilli. Chilli is apparently a Halloween dish. But, I opt for just some bolognese sauce, cheedar, and a bun (or garlic bread). That's my Halloween.
