You better slow down, flying is super effective against fighting.

    - went to Saffron and got Sihon the Hitmonchan and trained him
    - did all the Rocket stuff and challenged Erika

    - saved Fuji, got the flute, went past Relaxo and got the Super Rod
    - caught Og, the Poliwag with the Super Rod, trained it to 25 and immediately evolved it to Poliwrath (not Quappo, sorry again XD) and then taught it Psychic, yay
    - the Machop evolved to Machoke put I ditched it. It didn't compete stat-wise and I didn't know what I could teach it my other Pokés didn't do better

    - challenged Koga
    Spoiler:

    Until next time,

  • Next time I'm home I might dig out my GBcolour and load up gold with an umbreon although I would need an action replay or something.
If you're only planning on using Umbreon, you're looking for the solo thread. This is for like Dark Type teams.

Also, I've almost finished silver now for psychics. I've beaten the Elite Four and Brock, Misty, Surge, Erika, and Sabrina. 3 more gym leaders and the champion left!

Edit for play by play with Red.

    Alakazam vs. Pikachu: Psychic OHKO
Alakazam vs. Espeon: Ice Punch, Reflect, Ice Punch KO
Alakazam and Slowbro vs. Snorlax: Lots of moves and Rests and Revives.
Alakazam vs. Charizard and Blastoise: Both 2HKO w/ TPunch
    Alakazam vs. Venusaur: OHKO Psychic

Missed the Red screenshot, but here's my final team:
    pokemonsilver11.png

I think this is the highest I've ever gotten a Pokemon for a challenge. Most of the time they end up around 60 for Red, but 85? Damn I like Alakazam btw.

Edit: You know what? I only have 6 types left on GSC and 5 left on RSE. I'm going to do them now and then have a Sinnoh marathon. It'll help me remember what trainers have what Pokemon if I group them like that. So, on to Bug Crystal (2/3 of my team is Ariados/Ledian)

Started, named myself Bugzy, got Totodile, named Rival Blaine (why did he take Chicorita instead of Cyndiquil!??!!)
Caught Spinirak (Aragog) and Ledyba (Red Ranger). Grinded for. ever.
While I was grinding, I found a SHINY HOPPIP!!!!!!! I was about to do a Flying run too... Caught it anyways and named it starshine.
Beat Falkner after Red Ranger evolved (I think, can't really remember, it might have been right after I learned Comet Punch)
Saved the Slowpoke, and Aragog evolved.
Beat Bugsy and Blaine quite easily.
Got Cut (Totodile) and proceeded through the forest, also picking up Headbutt.
Skipped the trainers and went to Goldenrod, where I got Thunderpunch and Fire Punch, which I taught to Red Ranger. This run is already starting to remind me of my Psychic one. Too bad Ledian doesn't have Fire Punch/Psychc and the Sp. Atk. that Alakazam had...
Beat Whitney with some difficulty. Reflect helped cushion the Rollout.
Saved in the entrance of National Park.

    Update:
    Game: Pokemon black
    Type: Dragon
    Name: Draco

Ok this update is going to be a very short one but only because im tired of dragons and nothing posing any threat AT ALLL. I did the seven sage search and leveled Demonand Snips to ungodly heights.(they were the only ones i used) Anyways, I swept the E4 with Snips and then I decimated Alder with Demon.

Alder's Accelgor did the only damage to Demon with Focus Blast but, Fire Blast was dead on. The rest was blown away. My monotype challenge is done. I dont have screenshots bc i dont have an emulator plus i dont know how you would get screenshots from a ds so u just hafta believe me.

One comment before I update: I really like it when people take their time to post their team (with movesets) and tell a little how each of their Pokémon worked for them ^^

Update on my FireRed Fighting Challenge (Speed button really makes this a lot easier, but also a bit less personal than playing on a cartridge):

    - the onslaught goes on. So far, no one has posed any real threat to the team
    - surfed to Cinnabar (avoided most of the trainers to be faster), sped through the Mansion and got the key to the Gym
    - went back to Rock Tunnel and taught Gomorra Rock Slide
    - challenged Blaine
    Spoiler:

    - met Bill again and did all the Island stuff (including killing of Moltres with two Rock Slides)
    - flew to Saffron and now I'm outside Sylph Co

    Spoiler:

    Later dudes and duderesses,

(anyone know a good training place for level 50+ pokemon?)

Are you playing on FR/LG? If so, I always grind off the bunch of Fighting Type trainers on one of Sevii Islands (can't remember which one) next to the hot springs, using VS Seeker.

You can always seek at five trainers at once and they get Pokémon around level 40 if I recall correctly. It's time consuming, but there aren't any more powerful trainers you can use the VS Seeker on.

  • Got Squirtbottle and Bicycle.
Battled my way through National Park.
    Defeated Sudowoodo.
    Got Magnet (to Red Ranger).
Defeated the Kimono Girls and got Surf.
    Defeated Blaine and then Morty.
Battled everyone on the way to Olivine.
Got a rod and Strength, caught a Krabby.
Taught Krabby Cut, Strength, and Surf, boxed Totodile.
Surfed to Cianwood and defeated Eusine.
    Saved and quit.

    Team:
Red Ranger the Lv. 32 Ledian
    Thunderpunch/Reflect/Headbutt/Ice Punch

    Aragog the Lv. 32 Ariados
    Poison Sting/Night Shade/Scary Face/Leech Life

I feel that Aragog will be much better once I get some better moves on him like Sludge Bomb, Psychic, and Giga Drain. But for now, Night Shade is pretty much 2HKOing everyone.

I really like how Red Ranger is progressing. He's been OHKOing stuff that isn't Magnemite since he learned the two punches. Headbutt is for if I run out of the two punches.

  • Found the problem with the emulator. Sort of.

Although I haven't found a pernament solution, I know that if I speed up (Just for a second!) the emulator begins to lag horribly, so I have to go through the game normally...this has never happened before, so it's definitely weird. Has anybody here ever encountered a similar problem?

No speed up + the fact I'm slower than the majority, I didn't reach Flannery. But I completed 3 routes, right? Right? *is kicked out*

    The Team So Far:

    Courtney, Lv. 28

    Quick Attack
    Wish

    Spr_3e_267.gif

    Sophie, Lv. 29
    Moves:
    Mega Drain
    Morning Sun
    Stun Spore
    Gust

    Jake, Lv. 29
    Moves:
    Gust
    Poison Sting
    Moonlight
    Psybeam

    Kyle, Lv. 31
    Moves:
    Cut
Sand Attack? (Forgot, I barely used Kyle today)
    Leech Life
    Flash

Yes, compared to the people who complete Kanto in two updates...I'm dissapointed. But I was never a speed runner anyway.

  • Yar, I be done with Bug on Crystal.

Red's Snorlax was actually one of the easiest Pokemon I faced. He went down in 2 Sludge Bombs.

Missed Pryce and Karen, but here are my screenhots of progress:
    Spoiler:

    And, the team:
    Spoiler:

Goldeen was on the team for a brief while, but was boxed along with Hoppip when I was E4 Grinding, just to make the credits go by a little faster. I needed Hoppip back for Flash when I was fighting Red, but Goldeen stayed boxed.

Final Comments: Holy Magikarp. Aragog. He was a beast. Too bad I didn't have the Poison Barb for him, because Sludge Bomb was tearing through everyone. He had a decently strong Hidden Power (water type) that really helped against every Fire Type I faced, as well as those Rock/Ground types. He's definitely my MVP.

Red Ranger was great too. He was only not MVP because of how beast Aragog was. On any given team he definitely could have been an MVP. He got lots and lots of experience off of Lance, who he could solo with Thunder and Ice Punch quite early in his career as a Dragon Slayer.
