Ignored the presence at the Tin tower for now.
Went through Ice Path.
Beat Clair in blackthorn city.
She whined and wouldn't give me the badge. (Ya sore Loser!)

Als have a possible Dratini in the wing, though I doubt it.

After obtaining the Silph Scope I went back to Lavender Town's Pokémon Tower, where I caught a Gastly

who'd later evolve to Haunter

I saved Mr. Fuji, and was given the PokéFlute in return.

Then I went back to Saffron City and realized that the suspicious activities had been caused by Team Rocket, and that they had taken over Silph Co.
Before helping out however, I decided to further train Haunter in the Fighting Dojo where they offered me a Pokémon which I kindly declined :P
When I felt ready I went to Silph Co. and began my battle Rocket by Rocket
Taught TM26 Earthquake to Nidoking in the process, but right before going up to meet with Giovanni someone else appeared… FISH!

back in, and he stuffed a Psybeam before OHKOing with an Earthquake (God I love that)

Venusaur was amazing during his battles against the Elite Four and is possibly the most influential reason why I was able to beat the whole Elite Four AND Fish in my 'trial run'. He took care of most of Lorelei's team, those two Onix, and was able to take Lance's Gyarados out of the equation easily.

And last but not least, the first Pokémon I caught for my team, my personal favorite and the MVP, Nidoking had an amazing showing by decimating Agatha's team, Lance's two Dragonairs, and by helping turn the tables around in the battle against Fish. Personally, although I feel that all of my Pokémon eventually rose to the occasion, it was Nidoking who rose to the occasion in the most crucial situation, and thus he's the MVP.

I then reached training enlightment along with my two Pokémon and visited the Ruins of Alph before it became night and I caught a Gastly

and a Spinarak

I then decided to battle my first test: Falkner!

I now have the choice of doing Silph Co, Pokemon Mansion, Cycling Road or the swimming trainers by Seafoam, and I don't
really want to do any of them. I'll have to decide sometime...

There, I've updated the first post again. And I see we've gotten quite a bit of newcomers. Welcome, all of you! :D

Seeing as I'll be getting HgSs tomorrow, I may be getting into this again. SoulSilver will be for the 'regular' playthrough, and HeartGold will be for Monotypes. ^_^

And on another note, one of these days I think I'll be updating the first post again. Not with entrants' names, however, but with a new appearance. Additionally, I'll be pruning some of the names in Kanto, taking off those who posted the start of their journey and never came back. XD

After beating Fish I headed to Ilex Forest where I received HM01 Cut from a grateful person I helped out,
I continued to make my way north before realizing that I could actually catch a Nidoran (m) in this game, so I decided to ditch Spinarak as soon as I got to Goldenrod
After walking around town a bit my egg hatched giving birth to a Togepi

, I told Prof. Elm about this and he told me to show him, so I shoved it in the PC :P
Then I went up to Route 35 continuing to beat random trainers as I trained my Pokeymanz, AND caught that Nidoran

Then I headed back to New Bark Town and showed the hatched Pokémon to Prof. Elm, who didn't care and gave me an Everstone

Anyway... update time! Remember how that Normal-type gym was a walkover? Well, there's a Flying gym after that, followed by a Psychic gym.

First of all, I made my way to Fortree. Long route between cities are loooong. Caught a Tropuis for HM slavery on the way, named it Equiano. On the way, my lovely Cranberry evolved into a Blaziken! My rival popped up to irritate me a little, I stomped all over her team.

My stay at Fortree was short, I carried on to Mt Pyre (skipping trainers on the way), so I could catch the final member of my team, a Meditite that I named Lu-Tze. I taught it Shadow Ball and Strength, then went back, beating all the trainers I skipped on the way.

Winona was damn hard. I got close to beating her on my first try, In the end I was down to just Cranberry, and had a good few Bulk Up boosts. I was ready to strike with Peck, but she got a Critical Earthquake in. Then there was grinding. Second try, it was much easier. Pogg beat 3 of her team with Rock Tomb, while Cranberry took out the Skarmory with Blaze Kick. It was kinda anticlimatic, actually.

Then there was surfing (on a Sumo wrestler no less). I beat those Aqua goons at their hideout, then made my way to the island of Mossdeep to get the Dive HM and the liscence to use it - in the form of the Mind Badge. Some guy at the front of the island told me he couldn't beat them because he only trained fighting-types. I felt his pain. Luckily, it only took one try to beat them, but it involved plenty of reviving. I thanked my lucky stars for Hariyama' bulkiness.

Afterwards I headed to Sealfoor Cavern, and kicked some Aqua butt. They awakened some anceint behemoth and pretty much c*cked up the weather. I told them that they were all morons and went to grab a coke. But nobody served me because the guy at the till was running around on fire. Maybe I'll have to save the world then. Later.

Pogg is awesome. He's strong and bulky, he can take three STAB Psychics from Pokemon higher levelled than himself. This bulkiness has been invaluable, allowing me to soak up attacks and dish them straight back.

- Shadow Ball

- Calm Mind
The newest member of my team has already proved his worth. Shadow Ball is great against the Ghosts. Hi Jump Kick is an awesome move, as I found with Hitmonlee in Crystal. Shame it doesn't learn any more Psychic moves naturally.

Question: Should I teach Earthquake to Cranberry or Pogg?
