YES! Finally, it's done! Beat Gary at last, thanks to the Thunder TM.

    My final team:

    Wigglytuff Lv.51
    Ultimate Monotype Challenge

    - Flash
    - Tri-Attack
    - Submission
    - Strength

    Kangaskhan Lv.56
    Ultimate Monotype Challenge

    - Take Down
    - Earthquake
    - Mega Kick
    - Dizzy Punch

    Pidgeot Lv.63
    Ultimate Monotype Challenge

    - Swift

    Raticate Lv.62
    Ultimate Monotype Challenge

    - Dig
    - Bubblebeam
    - Ice Beam
    - Thunder

    Snorlax Lv. 58
    Ultimate Monotype Challenge

    - Body Slam
    - Surf
    - Double-Edge
    - Metronome

    Team Member of the Generation:

    Pidgeot Lv.63
    Ultimate Monotype Challenge

    - Fly
    - Mirror Move
    - Quick Attack
    - Swift

Seriously, I cannot express how much I owe to this guy. Took out half of Gary's team on his own, including Jolteon. But, he was one half of an awesome duo, the other half being:

    Raticate Lv.62
    Ultimate Monotype Challenge

    - Dig
    - Bubblebeam
    - Ice Beam
    - Thunder

Yeah, Raticate's kinda ugly and common, but damn if he isn't versatile. Bubblebeam destroyed Bruno's Onix, Dig decimated ALL of Agatha's team, Ice Beam took out half of Lance's dragons and Thunder managed to take out Gary's oh-so-annoying Cloyster.

Special mentions to Wigglytuff, who was hated for most of the game. In the last few battles I realised she DID have a few uses - she could soak up damage like a brick wall. Handy when you need to revive and heal your entire team. Seriously, Wiggs took a Hyper Beam, a Slam and a ThunderBolt from a level Dragonair five levels higher, and was still standing. And then she completely surprised me by owning Gary's pesky Ninetales, twelve levels higher (though Flash spamming might've come into that, eheheheh).

Anyway.....that was Kanto. Johto, here I come!

    Tomorrow I mean, I'm tired now :P

Chapter 3:A Slow Start & An End That BUGS Me !

After I get my little egg, I exit Violet Town for good . Buh bye .
Some dude gives me A Miracle Seed - An Item that boosts grass type moves...OHMEHGAWD :O
    ANYWAY ! Justin leveled to 18...That's odd...I don't remember getting to 17 o.o
Whatever . But as I look at my stats, I realize that Fire Types have terrible Defense usually xD
As I get near a cave, some fatty offers me Slowpoke Tail for... 1,000,000 PokeDollars !
I've always wondered what you would be able to do with it .
While in the cave, Justin becomes Lvl. 19, I love how easy it is in the beginning :D
I then decide to get him to Lvl. 20 while I'm in there, so I do so .
I meet up with Kurt&Decide to help the old Geezer out .
Those Rockets didn't know what hit em' . Justin gets to Lvl. 21 though :DD
Now to cut the final part short...Bugsy is a BUG Gym Leader....Scary right ?
    I'm doing a FIRE Challenge...He loses . He was basically a free 2 Lvl. Ups for Me&Justin .
    Oh, and Adam shows up...
His Gastly gets Pwned with just one Ember . His STUPID WAter Type takes like 5 Quick Attacks to take it down . Then his last...I fogot who it was....But it got pwned too .
    xD

    I HATE LEVELLING UP MAGIKARP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh well, at least I've only got 2 levels to go...

I am going to have Gyara and Gol/Crobat on all of my go throughs so I'd better get used to it... :/

I'm rebattling my rival at Cerulean and losing on purpose, a EXP drain, (Spearow LV18 (223 EXP) has a low defense, and Sandshrew LV15 (294 EXP) has low Special so that's easy faints).

    Oh well, better carry on...

EDIT: The rival is so smug when you lose 'Am I great or not?'.
EDIT 2: Yes! I got a Gyarados! Realised at the last second you need to win against him, or it wont evolve, although half of my team were fainted, so for the record, I <3 CRIT HAX!!!

    Flying!!!

    Misty died.
    She just died.

After Massacre evolved, I went and did Nugget Bridge, and got myself a Charmander LV10, which I called Inferno. I then proceeded to battle everyone to level my team up to LV21, to be the same level as Misty.

    Against Misty, this happened..

    Staryu:
    Massacre used Bite!
    Critical Hit!
    Enemy Staryu fainted!

    Starmie:
    Massacre used Bite!
    Misty used X Defend!
    Massacre used Bite!
    Enemy Starmie used Harden!
    Massacre used Bite!
    Enemy Starmie used Harden!
    Massacre used Bite!
    Enemy Starmie used Harden!
    Massacre used Bite!
    Critical Hit!
    Enemy Starmie fainted!

    Fail.

    My current team:

    Vampyr LV21
    55/28/22/35/28
    Leech Life
    Supersonic
    Bite
    Confuse Ray

    Massacre LV21
    78/63/42/45/50
Splash > I really think this should do something lol, its a GYARADOS!
    Tackle
    Bite
    Bubblebeam

    Drill LV21
    64/48/40/54/35
    Peck
    Growl
    Leer
    Fury Attack

    Flutter LV21

    Tackle
    Sleep Powder
    Confusion
    PoisonPowder

    Inferno LV21
    63/39/37/42/39
    Scratch
    Growl

    Starting: Crystal

At the beginning, I was tempted to use a glitch to give the Male player a blue overworld... But decided against it.

I head downstairs, where my Mom stopped me to give me my Pokegear, and ask me what day it is and whether it's Daylight Savings Time or not.
Come on! You should know that!
Well, it would explain her tendency to buy things with my money instead of hers...

Anyways, I went over to Elm's lab, because I felt like it. And because he asked for me.
When I got there, he asked me to 1: Help him with his research, and 2: Go and talk to Mr. Pokemon. What kind of name is that?

He offered to give me a Pokemon if I helped him, so I accepted. I chose Cyndaquil, simply because he looked like the best one. Not because I'm doing a Fire Mono-Type run, of course... I decided to name it "Kasai." (Sound familiar?)

I started along Route 29 towards Cherrygrove City, battling wild Pokemon as I went. When I got there, an old man offered to teach me some things. Why not? Can't learn any younger... When he got through, he gave me a Map Card, so it wasn't all bad.

After healing my Pokemon, I started heading up Route 30 towards Mr. Pokemon's house. Seriously, what's up with that name? Anyways... I soon found a fork in the road, and chose left. Good thing it was blocked by a Pokemon Battle, or I might have gone the wrong way! ;-D
I backtracked and went right, soon finding Mr. Pokemon and Professor Oak.

After Mr. Pokemon (Still a weird name!) gave me the Odd Egg, Prof. Elm called and was only able to say one thing that was coherent: "Get back here right now!" So, off I go to "Get back" to Elm's Lab. I was just leaving Cherrygrove when...
A shady looking character showed up and challenged me to a battle!

    Pokemon Trainer ???:

    Spoiler:

After he lost, he said that he's going to be the best Pokemon trainer ever. Not with that start! Losing your first battle? Terrible start!

When I got there, a police officer asked me if I remembered the name of the person I battled... All I had heard was "Silver," so that's what I told him. After he left, I showed Elm the egg, and waited for him to recover from the shock. Then he saw my Pokedex and went into shock again...

When he came to his senses, he suggested that I take the Pokemon League challenge. Sure! There's nothing else to do... Then he told me that I should talk to my mom.

...Fine. So I talk to her, and she quickly makes: The First Bank of Mom. Yeah... I do this so that I'm 100% guaranteed to have money before the E4. The seemingly free items are a bonus. Strangely, if memory serves correctly, I've always gotten a Super Potion from her before Bugsy, even in Soul Silver. Let's see if that happens here...

I start heading for Violet City. The battle has finished, and both of the people that were in the battle challenge me... And are promptly creamed. Later on there are two Bug Catchers.
Fire Mono-type Run > Stupid Bug Catchers. 'Nuff said.

Upon arriving at Violet City, I decided to take on the Sprout Tower. Let me alter the formula up there...
Fire Mono-type Run > Stupid Bug Catchers > Sprout Tower.

Yeah... I got the HM from the Elder, and grabbed the Escape Rope.
NOTE: I grabbed the Rope, but did not use it. Yes, that's significant.
Hint: Ruins of Alph in Crystal.

    I then throttled the Gym.

    Leader Falkner:

    Spoiler:

After I left the Gym, Elm called and told me to see his assistant in the Violet City Pokemon Center. The assistant gave me the Egg to carry, telling me that the Egg has to be with other Pokemon to hatch.

I went to look at the Ruins of Alph, a fairly popular tourist destination nearby. In one of the caves there was a puzzle that looked very much like a jigsaw. Somehow, when I put it together the floor collapsed! I worked my way out of the cave that I had fallen into, encountering some Pokemon that looked like letters on the way.

When I went back into the puzzle room, I noticed a researcher in the back. He explained that the symbols that he was examining had just recently appeared, and he was trying to translate them. I could see that they looked like the letter Pokemon from the other cave, and that they spelled the word "ESCAPE." As I tried to think of what it meant, I remembered the "Escape Rope" that I had gotten from the Sprout Tower. Since there was nothing to lose, I went ahead and used it. When I reentered the cave/room, I saw that a section of the wall had opened up, leading to a new room. I took the items from the room, and left the Ruins of Alph.

I saw that my Egg was going to hatch soon, so I started back to Elm's Lab to show him once it hatched. When I got there, the Egg hatched into a Togepi! I quickly showed the Professor, and received both the Togepi and an Everstone as my reward. I gave the everstone to Kasai and began walking all the way back to Violet City.

    Team:
    Ultimate Monotype Challenge
    Kasai -- Lv. 16 -- Everstone

    Tackle
    Ember
    Leer
    Smokescreen

I'm going to solo this time... I've learned from my mistakes in Red. Since Kasai is going to be over-leveled, I'm going to wait to evolve it so that it can learn Flamethrower sooner.

I am actually already doing this in soulsilver. Using poison types. Beat all the gym leaders in johto and the elite 4. Suprisingly I beat the elite 4 in 1 go (wills psychics got pwned by arbok XD)

Team I beat elite 4 with:
    Arbok Lv 49
    Weezing Lv 47
    Gloom Lv 44
    Tentacruel Lv 46
    Nidoking Lv 49

I am considering trading a stunky over from platinum to handle sabrina though..

The johto gyms were difficult at some points and easy at others.
Falkner: was difficult because my team consisted of ekans oddish and venonat (oddish and venonat were obtained via the pokewalker, no rules against that)
Bugsy: Scyther was quite difficult but the rest was easy (ekans intimidate ftw)
Whitney: owned by nidorino and his double kick
Morty: Crunched his pokemon with arbok
Chuck: Used gloom with mega drain
    Jasmine: Koffing and fire blast
    Pryce: Arbok with iron tail
Claire: Stuggled against kingdra but eventually beat it with weezing. Arbok and nidoking beat the rest with ice fang and avalanche.

This probably would have been alot harder on gen 2 games as I would not have been able to teach my pokemon the moves i did.

I also already did mono poison on leafgreen, It was along time ago but i think this was my team:
    Beedrill Lv 55
    Venusaur Lv 58
    Crobat Lv 55
    Muk Lv 50
    Nidoking Lv 56
    Gengar Lv 60

Sabrina was the only problem really. managed to beat her with crobat using bite. would have been impossible on gen 1.

After I am done with soulsilver I will try using a mono poison team on sapphire, platinum and red(see how hard it is on gen 1 against uber psychics).
