4th Gen What do you think about Team Rocket returning?

I never really liked switchng to a new team every time and the pokemon world can only have plans to be destroyed so many times, I am glad that they are returning because then we dont have to go through the process of figuering out in what ways this new team are going to harvest something to ultimatley cause unfair destruction to the poke-world which you have to save! What do you think?

People hate magma and aqua just because they were in 3rd gen XD! i liked magma and aqua though! (if anyone has any other reasons to hate them other then nostalgia then reply ;) )
Team galactic is the very beat though! Cyrus wanted to create his own world..... that has to be the most evil plan outta all the teams! Team rocket just wanted power, team magma and aqua thought they were helping the world and cyrus wanted to create his own world! i dunno how this answers your question but... think?

Ill be fine if they give them a more.... uhhh.... evil goal i dont know how stealing pokemon makes them more powerfull(maybe they could sell them like hunter j from the anime!)? I dunno maybe use ho-oh and lugia to destroy the world? No evil team has done that yet (weirdly XD)

I suppose but it will be nice to see the Rockets back for a bit even if it is a bit nostalgic.

Team Rocket aren't returning. They never left the Johto games.
Team Rocket will always be the main team. They are always in the Anime. And have always had a certain charm that I wish were more shown in the games.

Yeah you are right (there oath is "Steal Pokémon for profit. Exploit Pokémon for profit. All Pokémon exist for the glory of Team Rocket.") but they sell them and that gives them more power (MONEY, MONEH) profit = power XD XP

I hate Team aqua and Magma, they really dragged out the gen 3 games, and they were just so irritating. Team Rocket FTW! Team Galactic are cool too. But I like Team Rocket because there long term goal is simple, and realistic (in the world of Pokémon at least)- stealing Pokémon is do-able. Expanding the sea or the land- I mean come on, how can one pokémon make that happen. Of course the whole idea of Pokémon is a tad Farfetch'd (see what I did there =D) but I think they have been struggling for ideas to make it appealing and new and fresh. The return of Team Rocket would be very welcomed by me.

How is creating a new universe evil? I would if had the opportunity, being a god would be great, if a little lonely, but then you could uplift anyone you want to join you.

Anyway back on topic, I like Rocket because stealing Pokémon and using them to rob people for they're money and/or Pokémon seems more like what a real gang would do. Like the Mafia of the Pokémon World.
My favourite team would either be Rocket or Galactic, as I like Galactic's ideals, but hate their weird green bowl cuts and I like Rocket, because I have no idea why.

Haha, and when you buy the pokemon from the casino, you're only helping them... But who doesn't want that dratini..

I remember resetting my game over and over til I got the best dratini I could.


But, on topic, team rocket is absolutely my favorite of the bands of evil.. I'd go as far as to say I don't even like any of the others at all.. Aqua and Magma at least made sense, but the whole series threw me off when it came to things like controlling time and space. I think it's a little extreme and loses sight of what pokemon is really about.

I'm not a complainer though, I love Gen4 for the kick-ass battle renovations and the couple dozen usable pokemon.

Which is why I can't WAIT to have all that good stuff paired with the simplistic goals of team rocket and just all around more feasible story that was Gold and Silver.

In conclusion: Rocket>Aqua/Magma>Galactic.





...Galactic look stupid.

One of the reasons I disliked Aqua/Magma was that they were just so bland. Team Rocket wanted to make money from Pokemon, and Giovanni had plenty of character to his name. Team Magma wanted to make more land for land pokemon. OK, erm..... why? The entire character of the main villains extended to monolouging their plans and saying "we like land/sea pokemon". Add that to the fact that they're complete morons. ("Hey, lets awaken the uber-powerful legendary!" "Look, it's drying up the sea just like we wanted!" "oh noes! It's destroying the world and we didn't want that!" ".....Didn't we?")

Team Galactic grunts were the worst grunts of the lot, but Cyrus was an excellent villain, so Galactic were OK.

I don't think Team Rocket want to destroy the world. In fact, they'd be actively opposed to destroying the world. They just want to make money. Lots and lots of money. If they captured Lugia/Ho-oh, and, I dunno, sold their feathers as rare items or something, that would make complete sense. But they wouldn't use them to destroy the world.

I would like to see Team Rocket return in the fifth generation, a new faction that believes that Team Rocket can flourish without Giovanni, and is more of a subtle, manipulative force, rather than the type to just go barging in and stealing pokemon.

You don't really feel like you're saving the world if you're going against horribly weak Pokemon. They should have made the Grunts Gym-trainer-tough, and the Executives Gym-leader-tough, at the very least.

A nice twist would also be to be able to join Team Rocket in some future game. The storyline would be around pulling off jobs, maybe even throwing pokeballs at other trainer's pokemon. Of course, instead of going through gyms and the League, you have to go through a myriad of pesky red-hatted kids.

That is a really fun sounding idea, but I don't see Nintendo hopping onboard for it. A fan hack? Well, maybe so.

Different region, different evil organization. With the exception of Kanto and Johto, although they are but a stone's throw away so it makes sense.

Plus, seeing as this is a remake of a region with Team Rocket, there's no reason why Team Rocket shouldn't make a comeback.

I dont really like Magma or Aqua, I dont think alot of thought went into them and they all seem to have a weird thing Pooch/Mightyena and Golbats.

Galactic were good and in the next game of the series I'd like to see Galactic team up with Rocket.

I like the 'Play as a villain' idea too, they should put two teams against each other and you pick your side.

Team Rocket is my favorite of the "teams."
I hated Team Magma and Aqua. Team Galactic is alright, but Team Rocket is the best. They're the original.

Team Rocket always has been and always will be my favorite of the villain teams, largely because of nostalgia. I don't hate Teams Aqua, Magma, or Galactic, but it always seemed like Nintendo was trying outdo itself with each new team, and so the new schemes got really out there. Stealing Pokemon for profit may be a little cliche or predictable, but it certainly taps into a believable side of human nature. So I'm really excited about Team Rocket returning.
