I'm pretty excited about this movie. As stated in previous threads I am really big on photography in films anymore and this movie just looks spectacular! I don't believe in the secular idea of the 2012 apocalypse but this movie still looks insanely well done and amazing. :D

Ugh, John Cusack and Amanda Peet. I can't stand either one of them.

Anyway, I'm not impressed with the trailers, and it seems way too gimmicky for my liking. It also looks like it won't make sense, imo. I probably won't be watching this... or renting the DVD. Maybe I'll watch it when it comes on TV. Maybe. :\

I've seen a poster of this in cinema, it looks awesome! I love sci-fi films and I've always been intrigued by end of the world stuff. I'm definitely seeing this when it comes out.

I too love sci-fi and strangely I've become obsessed with the apocalypse. o__O Its weird haha. I loved Fallout 3 only because of that aspect and I'm just waiting for them to make a movie based on a world as such. :D

Hell yeah, im super stoked for this movie as well :]
I think the CGI is pretty good... and the whole 'end of the world' thang made it better XD

Indeed, the CGI looks beautiful! That's what really captured me after watching it in HD haha.

When I go to the movies with friends we always give thumbs up or down to the trailers. The trailer for this got nothing but thumbs down. It might be a case of bad marketing, but this looks like nothing more than a disaster movie and all disaster movies are the same.

    Reasons Why It Will Blow

    #1: It's a disaster movie.

#2: It's based on a conspiracy forumlated by some guy with to much free time. (Has anyone considered the fact that most calenders just start over?)

    #3: CGI looks sub-par.

#4: It's going to have a love story sub-plot. It always ruins a movie for me. (Anyone see District 9? Minimal romance = more action.)

#5: It looks like it will make no sense at all. Oh, hey, I know I was just flying a plane in San Francisco, but I feel like jumping out of it in my Mercedes into the Arctic.

Ah, I have this phrase which I like using IRL: enjoyable hokum. Basically, it means when a film is going to have a pretty rubbish plot, zero character development, and big enough plot holes to fit an overweight Wailord through. But you watch it anyway, because it's just so much damn fun as long as you don't take it seriously. (e.g. The Mummy series of films (especially the third one))

And That's exactly what I reckon this will be. A load of rubbish, but still great fun.
