  • Meh, a problem w/ my keyboard. o_O Or is it just dumb Microsoft Office 2003?
I went and consulted that dumb XP troubleshooter and had a look at the properties and stuff and it said my keyboard was fine, but if I highlight something in Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher, Excel, etc. and press "Backspace" it no longer deletes. I have to press "Del" but the Backspace button works if I use it to delete the slow way. >_< It works in every other program. And I can't highlight something anymore, click Paste, and have it replaced. ~_~; It's a nuisance. Can you help? XD
By the way, I have a laptop ^^; It's an inbuilt keyboard.

  • I'd say it's stupid Microsoft Office (But that could be my prejudice. XD). Notice how it's all Microsoft stuff? XD
Maybe it thinks you're clicking and highlighting somewhere else?

  • What does that mean?
Yeah, I say it's Office. o_O; Nope, I checked all my buttons. They get stuck occasionally, but they all work fine except I can't highlight and delete it with backspace in MS programs anymore. ><

Can you try un-installing and re-installing Office. That'd be the best plan of action.

    Otherwise you're screwed :D

No. It just means that she's not screwed since MS programs usually suck. She can get something better (Freeware too) like Lotus or Open Office.

MS 2003 documents are a bit of a bother. When we were doing Mail Merges we discovered to avoid printing 10 copies we had to click out of the box that read:
    1 to 1 (Changed from 10)

Most of those EULAs are crap. No one reads them, and since it doesn't force you to in any way, they probably won't hold up in court.

But yes... Get something better than Office. But this problem... Is it only duplicatable in Microsoft programs, or can you create the problem in something else, say, Firefox?
