I use VBA for Emerald and after I beat the E4, my save file was gone. AND I made a backup file but it got deleted too? I also heard other people with this problem. Any suggestions?

Another question, is there a way to trade pokemon via VBA?

Crap, wrong forum. Can someone move this to Emulation thread?

Unfortunately I'm cheep and don't want to buy a few games.:embarrass Plus my GBA doesn't work very well. I dropped it once and it'll stop working mid-game.

The answer to the question can be found in this (http://www.pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?t=46315) thread.

Q. My game won't save! Where can I find a Save Patch or fix it up?
A. Don't even bother finding a stupid game save patch for your worth. Instead, remove your .sav file for the associated Pokémon Fire Red ROM and open VisualBoyAdvance (without opening Fire Red up). Then click the options menu, scroll to Emulator, select save type and click "Flash 128K" in the Save Types. In other versions or ports, there may be other ways. In Mac OS X, click the VisualBoyAdvance menu, and in the save type box, select 128 K. This isn't required on VisualBoyAdvance 1.7.4 for Mac, as Adam Green has been kind enough to make it an unchangeable default.

It's the same thing for Emerald.

Aw, chin up, mate! ^^; Using VBA is not a bad thing! I have it too, even if I do own all the games ( I'm hooked on trading and battling other people, it's just so FUN ^^; )

The thing is, it happened to me too once, and not even increasing the flash memory and enabling the "real time clock" feature helped me, but this did (I didn't find this, it was found by a brilliant person whose name I have forgotten, unfortunately, just like I forgot on which board he/she posted, so I can't give credit :( Just know I didn't find this myself, I'm not smart enough ^^; ) Anyhoo, here's what you do:

You have to save the game before you beat Wallace and then, after you beat him, delete the .sav file from the folder where you saved it, before the final save. I don't know WHY, but this really worked for me when nothing else did O.o

EDIT: PS: Hold everything! I googled it, and now I can give credit! Yaaay! I saw this post on a board called "emuboards" :

A much easier method to continue past the Elite 4 is save a state in VBA before the E4 or preferably just before the final battle with Wallace

While playing the game delete the .SAV file from the VBA folder

Because once you beat Wallace, the Emulator creates a brand new .SAV file which (after the Hall Of Fame messages and the end credits) puts you back in your bedroom in Littleroot and keeps ALL (yes, all) of your badges, pokedex, items, etc.

OR if you are just starting a new game do the following

1. Make sure you have a clean, unpatched, untampered Pokemon Emerald ROM (there is a program called GBA Tool Advance that lets you check the file signature). The CRC for Emerald should be 1F1C08FBh

2. Load Visual Boy Advance (preferably version 1.7.2) without loading the ROM

3. Use this setting for Emerald Options > Emulator > Save Type > Flash 128K

4. Turn on the Real Time Clock by going through Options > Emulator > Real Time Clock

5. Load Pokemon Emerald
