Today, I went back to the area licensing building to take my permit test. After a minor problem, we had to go back home to retrieve something, we went back.
Finally got a number, waiting for an hour (estimated wait time was 55 minutes). Had to sign my name on the clipboard, then was shown to a computer.
To get a learner's permit in the state of Pennsylvania you must get 15 of 18 questions right. The questions are multiple choice and varied from road signage to basic driving techniques and things you need to know when driving.
I started off really good, got 7 consecutive answers right, and on my 15th question I was 13-1, ended up messing up on 2 straight questions. When it came to the last question, that one question would decide if I got my learner's permit or not. Thankfully, I got the question right and passed by getting 15 of the 18 questions right.
After that, I was given my PA's learner's permit and told I can't drive between 11pm and 5am. (That's okay, I'd be out like a light sleeping during that time frame), and must have a licensed driver in the car at all times.
I'm going to be studying how to drive and how to operate all the switches and stuff in the car before I go for my driver's test. I'll have 3 tries to do before having to file an extension on my learner's permit.
