  • Well my family had decided to cut off the satellite feed at our house. We have DirectTV, AT&T Phone and Internet. We are getting rid of the Phone and DirecTV services. They decided that for the monthly price we don't use them enough. Right now we use online video services more than our dedicated TV service. As for the phone service, we all have cell phones and use them much more than the actual home land line.

I, personally, subscribe to Netflix Instant, Hulu Plus, and rent new release movies from Amazon Instant Video.

But...I still do watch DVR'd shows on DirecTV. This is gonna be a big change, but I do think that I am ready to make the switch. The services that I use pretty much have me covered for a lot of shows, but there are some shows (specifically CBS and HBO shows) that I won't be able to watch without waiting for the DVD or buying a-la-carte episodes. I watch a good amount of show on those networks which torubles me that I will have to wait until the DVD's.

Any suggestions on how I can watch these shows, legally, without having to wait for the DVD?

Are you sure that cutting your landline is a good idea? A landline still usually has the best reliability and quality. Especially when you can't use your mobile phones.
