My New Laptop!

  • Hey, guys.

My birthday was last month and to my surprise, I got a lot of birthday money from my Mom and a couple of friends. Over $600 total. Much more than the usual $300 that I usually get from my Mom.

So I decided to get something that I've been wanting to get, but when I had the chance, I ended up buying my Vista desktop because my XP desktop got infected with 14 viruses and I thought it was a goner. I should have called my friend before I went to get that Vista. ><

Anyway, I used some of the birthday money to get myself a Laptop.

I went on eBay and got myself this little beauty.

    Spoiler:

Normally, getting electronics from eBay is a double-edged sword if you're not careful and you get something from a shady dealer. But I checked out this one seller who specializes in manufacturer refurbished laptops from Forture 500 companies and is an official Dell dealer. Plus, the seller has an excellent reputation for service and quality.

So, I bought myself a refurbished Dell Latitude D620 laptop from them. I bought it on a Friday morning and the thing came in the following Monday. Here are the specs

Intel Core 2 2.0 Ghz Processor
    2.0 GHZ of RAM
    93GB Hard Drive
    Internal DVD+CDRW Drive
Built In Integrated WiFi 802.11G Wireless connection
56K Dial up + Ethernet 10/100 LAN (cable, DSL ready)
14.1 inch WXGA Widescreen LCD Display
FOUR Built in USB 2.0 ports
VGA Monitor out, Serial, Docking ports
PC Card slot that supports Type II PCMCIA
    Headphone & Microphone jacks
    TouchPad & TrackStick mouse
    A/C power adapter
    Dimensions: 13.27" x 9.37" x 1.26"
    Weighs approximately 5.1 pounds
Windows 7 Home Premium plus Restore CD

They had some of the same type of laptops with Windows XP, but I went for the one with Windows 7 since it was newer and Microsoft is killing Windows XP in 2014. Plus having the restore CD is nice if I end up screwing this laptop up.

The only thing I need for this is a brand new battery. The one they have in here is all used up and dead, but I did buy a new one yesterday. So once that comes in, this thing will be perfect.
