  • It's hard, trying to write 2k a day like I said I would. The past few days, I've either been distracted by ideas I couldn't currently write, or by shiny video games. I wanted to write 4k today, but I'm not sure if I'll actually get it done. This part of the story's kind of slow. Not to mention that I do want to go out shopping eventually. (That involves me finding someone to drive me first, haha.)

It's easy for me to keep on that schedule for NaNo, because there's the whole atmosphere to keep you motivated. On my own... it's just not that easy. There's a lot of other things I'd rather do than sit down and force myself to write. Like, right now, I still have 500 words I have to write, but instead, I'm taking a short break to write this blog entry.

But, at the same time, I'm happy I'm doing it. There's so much I want to get done in my writing -- mainly finishing the first draft, so I can actually get it somewhere. Sure, I could jump around and do scenes I want to do first, but I'm afraid if I do that, then nothing will get done. Someday, I'm going to have to come back and write the not-as-exciting stuff. Might as well get it done now, no?

Not to mention that I'd rather do it in order, just in case things change. I have an outline, but it's certainly not concrete. It changes. A lot. Especially when I start to actually write it. If I do things out of order, it might just lead to more edits...

    ... I certainly love my writing posts, don't I?
