Why we won't get new mega evolutions on USUM.

Mega evolution was introduced in XY. New ones were made when ORAS was announced. However SM had no new mega evolution and focused on z moves. I believe USUM will continue to focus on Z moves and not get new mega evolutions. Here is why:

1. Mega evolution had a lot of focus in gen 6. It was the latest feature of the time and was the prime focus in the story of XY and ORAS. So mega evolution wouldn't be getting attention this gen.

2. Z moves is gen 7 thing and is likely remaining that. Although there are already z movies for every single type, there still can be more exclusive z moves for certain pokemon. Also new alolan forms is likely to take priority over mega evolutions.

3. Game Freak stated that not all pokemon would receive mega evolution. To me, this tells us to not expect new mega evolution every time or maybe in the future. ORAS could be the last games to have introduced new mega evolutions.

I think we might have to prepare for the possibility that we may not see future mega evolutions especially in games like DP remakes. I for one do not expect new mega evolutions any time soon but it would be nice to see some new ones.

I disagree. D/P remakes may gives us a few new mega evolutions.

Perhaps but i am not holding my breath on that.

We will see. A whole generation with no new mega evolutions would decrease the chance of it happening though.
