Hello Everyone, I'm back with the 20th of August edition of PriceWatch.
Overnight the price of Unbroken Bonds went up $3.18, now costing $780.87, as it hits a 1.16% Price Rise since the 2019 Pokémon World Championships. While this is most likely due to rotation requiring many competitive players to buy more recent cards.
One obvious example of this is the impressive increase in price from Dedenne GX, overnight the price continued to massively grow, with the three variants in the card increasing in combined price from $76.73 to $83.10. The largest percent gainer of those three was the Dedenne Normal Art gaining 7.25% in price from $23.84 to $25.57 overnight. Clearly this is a side effect of rotation, with Tapu Lele leaving the standard format, many have turned to the power draw dedechange ability that comes with the 160hp GX, resulting in a huge increase in price.
Gardevoir and Sylveon GX (130) also increased from $6.74 to $7.07.
On Sunday night Persian GX suffered a massive crash in price after decks like Pikachu & Zekrom, Blacephalon and Reshiram & Charizard as well as Mew & Mewtwo GX, dominated the competition at worlds. These results positioned Persian almost as an irrelevant card. Persian GX, Persian GX (Full Art) and Persian GX (Secret), have dropped in price almost $17.48 since the crash on Sunday Evening. However, despite this the card seems to be slowly recovering, jumping from $2.08 to $2.17 over the last 48 hours.
Yesterday, I predicted that rising prices in cards from the fire type decks at worlds meant that they would remain powerful contenders until at least the next set is released. That trend still stands since yesterday despite the full art variants of Welder and Reshiram & Charizard GX dropping $0.67 and $0.51 respectively. Other cards from the deck including Reshiram & Charizard and Welder Normal and Secret Arts have risen slightly. The Unbroken Bonds cards from influential player Tord Reclev's Reshiram and Charizard GX deck have amassed a combined rise of $6.31. The largest of any deck so far.
Honchkrow GX, all variants continue their downward spiral in price since Sunday, now having dropped $0.15.
