why ru getting into an argument over this? i will change and add events in the game as soon as i learn basic things and get a program that actually works for changing text(text editor) and a script editor. it's just maps for now. bottom line : it doesnt even really matter what you're just changing in the game, it's still hacking it, so it's considered a hack. i dont see why ppl comment on how if it's a hack or not? why can't they comment on updates i just put up or the pre-beta or smth?

I have to disagree here :/ I mean, it may not be a complete change of story or anything. However...added maps, added region, changed maps, changed wild Pokémon...-____-
Also it's progressing, give the guy a break as long as it's worked on it will get better. A simple rom hack is obviously a good way to learn rom hacking.

As editing the text, you can use a script editor. Just find the script in Advance Map and change it.

Finally, someone agrees.i don't have a prob with T but idrc about dark cookie.
I plan to add other areas of Johto too and also Hoenn with time.i really like the look of this hack and i think it'll be really good, i like the way you've added in the Johto region or at least cherrygrove good luck

just a heads up there is a mapping mistake in the lab i guess, and a few other tiles in other places where they just don't blend well but other than that it looks alright. you have pretty good layouts just watch for the details and it'll be even better

yah i knew about that i couldn't find an end for the seperator between the walls. i actually don't know if i was hacking the "U" or "E" rom so i'm going to start this hack over. i'm just going to put the same changes but in the "U" rom. It won't take too long to get where i was

i haven't edited the intro bc i dont have a program 4 it (yet), and it's not really needed right now. i think i'm gonna rename this hack to pokemon flame red or smth bc i dont really like this name.(that name isn't very original lol) different name but the same game though. idk yet. the towns i plan to include will probably be ones with like a seacoast that doesn't end and has a border block that continues the water, like slateport city.people could request what areas they wanted. what it is is idk how to add new map folders, so what i do is like to make cherrygrove, i used the birth island. i could put the cities in folder for a route except it wouldn't show the name of the town when you entered or tried to save. does anyone know how to create a new header? like with the town name and you can insert maps into it. i know how to insert maps, but not new headers.
.. and i have to map cherrygrove again bc i'm hacking a different version of the rom now(the "U" version) and I have to redo everything i did to the other so idk right now.
and i've been hesitant of getting rid of those island bc a lot of events after the pkmn leage interact with that and i don't want to play around with them right now...

No, I ment like the start of the game, where you choose your pokemon, get the parcel, etc. Did you change that around at all?

not yet if at all. like i said, i had to start all over today on a different version of the rom and i've only changed it back again till only part of the Virdian Forest. So i have to do Cherrygrove and all over too. I don't think i'll change that part too much, maybe the text but that's about it.
Oh, and other people reading this, post and tell me if you want to be included in the game somehow that i can do it as being mentioned in a sign or have someone talking about you, or whatever i can do at the moment

i actually have to add those masterballs again to the other version of the fire red rom i'm hacking. those balls were only for the first pre-beta btw(they will be in the next one because i'm replacing it with the pre-beta of the hacked, 1.0 version of the fr rom).the game actually looks pretty good i love the 5 masret blls in the flowers thats just great

And why are u bashing DarkCookie? He's just telling you that this isn't a hack its a map edit. You don't kno how to script which is basically the foundation of the game. You're barely a mapper (errors all over the place). Basically you're some kid who just learned to use A-Map (isn't that hard) and ur putting together a shabby excuse for a hack. And this reli isn't hopping on the bandwagon as Onvoloper (who is so far is ya behind he can't think straight) would say. I leave you with this..learn to script so that you can actually have a hack and not jus a text edited map edited version of fire red.
