And so I thought the sun was the biggest thing ever

I knew that some stars out there were awfully big, but I didn't know that they got that big.
It's quite frightening to know that we are mere dustmites compared to even our sun.
    Let alone the largest star.

Mind boggling....I can't believe how big some of those stars are compared to our own sun. It just goes to show how huge our universe actually is O.O

...Lol. It's insane to even think that stuff like that is out there...I don't even think we can fully comprehend the size of those stars...

    Yep, we're not alone o3o

And just think, all of this was once condensed smaller than the size of the tip of your pen. Let's just hope that the oscillating universe theory isn't true and it's not all going to come crashing back on us.

Still, this image does kind of put us in our place. We're no more than a spec in the universe. If the earth ceased to exit, the rest of that great void would be virtually unaffected. Kind of sad in a way...

I'd already read in books that the Sun is a medium to small-sized star, but didn't expect others to be that big compared to it.

Yeah, me too. It's kinda creepy to think that we are all just teeny tiny miniscule...atoms compared to everything else in the universe. O__O

Maybe the universe could be affected. We could be the only lifeforms in the entire universe. And for those that think otherwise, well, we've yet to find any more.

And then think of the Milky Way Galaxy, and then there are galaxies that are millions of times bigger, and then think about the entire universe--without having your mind explode.

More people need to understand the scale of the universe. It's extremely humbling.

I love contemplating about the universe. It's too bad so many people still believe the universe was made on a human scale, so nothing bigger than the sun should exist.

Not a big surprise really. I already knew that our Sun was extremely small compared to other stars. I wouldn't be entirely surprised if, in twenty years that last star would be considered very small.

I just want to see a trinary star now. :P
