So when Yanappu was released I thought it was the stupidest idea for a Pokemon ever.

SO TRUE!!!!!

I'm sick and tired of everybody going "Oh, Yanappu is so cute! I'm going to get one!" and "Yanappu looks pretty cool. I'll probably have one on my team, and hopefully it evolves into a Grass/Fighting." I seriously am going to vomit if I hear that one more time. But finally, somebody around here has a bit of sanity!

Back on topic, regarding the gym leaders I'm crossing my fingers that the gym leaders are still type-based, that Dento is the only gym leader in his gym, that Dento's gym is NOT part of a restaurant as I'm dreading it is, that all the gyms in Isshu are seperate from any other building as stated before, and that the rumor about Dento having all three monkeys is completely false. Well, there are my hopes and dreams, and I'll be waiting for Gamefreak to crush them as they have done every single time.

Also, quick question. How many of you think Aloe is a normal-type gym leader, if the gyms are still based on type?

EDIT: And by the way, I'm going to go on a killing spree if there still isn't a Dark-type gym by the end of this generation.

-I'd definitely believe that. Everyones saying " oh shes fire" or "Oh shes grass" . Well all the fire gym leaders looks signifigantly showed that they trained fire pokes, as with the grass leaders. She looks like a normal trainer to me. If I had to lean towards another type, it'd be grass.

And oh please Nintendo let the Gyms be type based. Whats with all this crap with food quizes, and whatnot.


PS- Yanappu looks like a inbred piece or broccoli.

Awesome! But I thought that was like the elite 4. And the forest could be victory road? Though I thought that forest was towards the beginning, but maybe there's another one. Also love how you see Belle, Chair-friend (forgot his name, but it began with char-), and Prof. Arsagi. So I thinkin that's the E4, and you walk by it but cant get in till you get a couple more badges, similar to being able to see the entrance right away in Kanto if ya know what I mean.

Maybe the Gyms are still type-based but with a twist now. Some of them are probably still entirely type based, and the others have a change, like Dento's. I doubt they would take the basics of Pokemon and completely change it all without letting us get used to the new stuff first. I think Dento's gym is a teaching mechanism for beginners to Pokemon. He gives you the type quiz in the beginning, and then apparently has Fire, Grass, and Water types that he faces you with. [either with the other two behind him, or just him]

The three basic types are probably used by him as a little hidden way of teaching newbies what effects what type so they can play the game better. ^_^;

Dento and Aloe

My speculation on Dento: He has the appearance of a grass type gym leader. For some reason, I have strange thoughts that he will become a grass and water type gym.

In future Pokémon games I'd like to see more of a variation and the gym leaders covering up their weaknesses by using a variety of different typed Pokémon.

Aloe looks like a rock type gym leader. Judging by the way she looks she has that tough look to her. Strong as a rock? Steel? She could be many types.

Brock is gonna go off to be a Pokemon Doctor, and yes, Dento is joining Ash and Iris.

I think it's a pleasant change of pace myself. It's nice to see a new face, and new personality traveling alongside Ash.
He looks to be a comic relief character too. Yay, not just Team Rocket now! It's interesting how Dento is the first Gym Leader of Isshu and Brock was the first in Kanto and they both travel[ed] with Ash...

I don't know about Aloe honestly... her name suggests Grass, but she looks like a cook of some sort as well.
Normal could be possible, and it would be nice to have another. Minus the Miltank please. :3

I killed myself trying to beat miltank in G/S/C. But Ima miss Brock. Dento just seems annoying to me.

Dento is basically Misty and sisters, except he is Grass GL and his brothers are Water and Fire respectively. That explains why, upon arriving in Isshu, he joins Ash and Iris: he's not the only one running the gym (even if he's the "alpha" leader), so he'll probably leave his brothers in charge, XD.

Also, slightly off-topic, but I agree with the above posters that Yanappu is the fail; looks like a monkey ate too much broccoli and it started growing on its goddamn head. Not sure how the other monkeys look, but hopefully better. Sounds to me like they're inspired by the three monkeys (the blind, the deaf, and the mute), and it'll be interesting to see how and what they evolve into.

Anyways, I personally like Dento a lot, even if I don't approve of Yanappu. With any luck, the thing will evolve into a better designed New World monkey thing.

I mean, he's the first leader, travels with brock... but now I think with the questions and all, if you get em all wrong you battle just dento, if you get 2 right depending on which ones you got right you battle 2 of the people in the gym, and all of them right it's a triple battle.

A new image has just leaked onto 2ch from an as of yet unknown publication which features a new monkey Pokémon. This monkey is a similar monkey to Yanappu and is blue. According to the poster on 2ch, the monkeys form a trio of Pokémon called Yanappu, as we know which is Grass, Hiyappu (ヒヤップ) which is Fire and Baoppu (バオップ) which is of the Water-type. We're unsure as to whether they have any pure differences but we'll bring more on this as and when it comes

So I guess that confirms what kinds of Pokémon Dento has? He is the first gym leader after all, so having 3 Pokémon is agreeable. And i'm going to assume that Yanappu, the grass monkey, is his signature Pokémon.

It's still weird never the less. Has there been a trio of Pokemon that weren't legendaries before?
I can't seem to recall any.

But yay for sea monkey! ^O^
I want to see the two new monkeys from the fronttt. ;~;

Dento having all three monkeys seems weird.. but him having brothers to have the other two monkeys would be awesome. <3

Uh... If anyone hasn't said this then I'll say it.
Dento may have three monkey pokemon things! There are three monkey pokemon,
Yanapu - grass
Hiyappu - fire
Baoppu - water
I hope this is true! His pokemon are like his badge!
grass - green
fire - red
water - blue
that little part up there was a little obvious though. Does anyone disagree with me on this and does anyone have any of ideas of what pokemon dento has?

Well there was a picture from the anime that showed Dento in the same pose as Yanappu. I think his animation will be like Yanappu's XD.

I wonder if we're gonna see any more gym leaders in the next 2 weeks? I doubt it :'( I mean, I don't remember seeing any leaders in D/P pre-release excitement, but I didn't follow it as intently as B/W. But I hope that the boy/girls are equal again, I just sorta like it that way.

I hope we don't see anymore, and I doubt we will. It would ruin the game for me, partially.

I think Dento was only revealed b/c he is replacing Brock, if I'm right. And Aloe..hmm, idk. I always thought that she was Iris's mom. So she was revealed because of that.

green haired gym leader for the win! xDD So far these gym leaders seem unique, more than the previous ones. Some gym types Im looking foward to see is:
a dark gym
a flying gym
a fire gym
a grass gym (dento?)
a normal gym
a dragon gym
a ground gym (no sub-rock types)
and a psychic gym

now that sounds like a good round up of gym types (not in that order of course)
