An "entry level" or "new graduate" position shouldn't be minimum wage. You might want to expand what you're searching for. I studied IT too. Cabling, while requiring skill, is looked upon by employers more like physical labour. So, you would be working a lower wage job as a result. Hopefully, in such a situation, you're unionized. I don't think you'd find many minimum wage offerings for starting positions that would eventually lead to analyst, administrator, or specialist roles. But, then again, depends on the school and the program they offered. I never did anything with cabling at school.
