    Thanks for the praise. It would be nice if you can look into this error and release an update with official fix. The reason I ask this is because while the workaround helps to bypass the issue but it's not a 100% success rate. Sometimes I end up doing it for 12-15 times before the game could start.

    Trying to find a fan game

    Is it by any chance Pokemon Azure? The Player is 15 years and they were hospitalized or something for 5 years and their grandfather forces them to take a Pokemon and go on a journey. They had battled and lost 5 years ago using Rented Pokemon. Their opponent now is an ELite4 Member.
