Rule-Free is for people that want to play with no rules attached. Trading/hacking in your Pokemon is optional, you're not breaking any rules, so this will count as single. But just be sure to use only your starter until you can catch Buizel. :)

No, the pattern does not pass on to the offspring, it will be whatever your region's pattern is.

I was Dexnav hunting for a shiny Duskull, and just a few minutes after catching one, as soon as my max repel wore off, I got a horde encounter with a shiny Shuppet in it.
