That's what i gathered. Basically having a female removes the randomness from breeding. Aside from that having a female Riolu insures the use of a luxury ball/friend ball.

I've been doing some reading and would like a little clarification as to the benefit of catching female pokemon. From what I've gathered there really isn't anything aside from passing down pokeballs that separates females from males when breeding. Is this more or less correct or am i missing...
