I don't think Sunkern/Sunflora has anything to do with Shards. In the original Emerald you could farm Shards from Corsola/Relicanth/Clamperl/Chinchou but i'm pretty sure those pokemon have their updated held items now (Corsola has Luminous Moss for example). I guess the only shards you can find...

I might have done something wrong but how are we supposed to gain access to Sky Pillar? I have defeated the League, gotten the Magma Emblem, beaten both Groudon and Kyogre but Sky Pillar remains locked. I can only imagine i did things in a weird order or something might not be working right.
