Can a brother get Electric/Dark? I think what would be one of the coolest typings. Ghost/Grass would be pretty neat also. And then pretty much everything else with Fairy, too.

For the sake of being different, I'll go with Rock or Steel, given the ubiquitous nature of Stealth Rock & Sandstorm and the need for a counter/reliable buffer to Dragon types. Steel's nice resistances help too.

Well, they do learn those moves because many rodents can be aquatic, have nasty bites, etc, so it's just as much about what type of animal they're based on as it is typing. And I'd expect a lot of our old Normal types to become Fairy or at least part Fairy.
