When i played ruby and sapphire in gameboy, i never caught one, but while in pc using vba, i always got one. It took 20+ minutes at times and at times, i found it within 2 - 3rd tries.

Playing the game and so far so good. Boxing is a good idea, you may need it at places afterwards in the game. If not make it hm slave and teach all high power hms. :)
