Man oh man, I am enjoying Conquest immensely.

I just beat Red. I got the game 9 AM last Sunday, so it took me 6 days, 12 hours and 21 minutes to complete. In-game, I spent 37 hours and 30 minutes. YEEEEEEAH

Bell Tower took me, like, 15 minutes. Whirl Islands were longer, but only because I didn't get the right entrance. It wasn't frustrating, though.

I like Misty's sprite, about the same as I like Clair's.

Pokémon does not have a definite ending; you play and level beyond the final bosses. For games that have different difficulties, one should be able to beat the game on a lower difficulty and then move up. I haven't played Metroid or Fire Emblem, but I've played Kingdom Hearts, and the difficulty...

I think they should just keep it at 3 years. I don't think they would change it just because the real-world timeline differs, the game can be its own canon with its own timeline.

No, you cannot exchange Mystery Gifts. Actually, I don't think you can do that with any Nintendo-distributed Wonder Cards so far... But I believe the option exists in Pokésav.

GTS Cloning is much more accurate if you use the light on your router. Once it starts flickering, you can turn off the DS. I had to start doing this because it was never the same amount of clock turns each time, anywhere from 6 to 10 :/
