That's probably only because the AI calculated that one Psybeam wouldn't knock out Pikachu at that level. If you don't level grind, it will always use Psybeam. I guess it may be difficult to adjust the gym leader AI, but I think Metapod should give it a try or do something to give us a chance...
That's the problem. It takes way too much level grinding to get to those levels at that point of the game. I get what Metapod is saying about Ash being totally outmatched by Sabrina in the anime, but I'd like it to at least be possible to beat her without all that level grinding. After all...
I meant give us a chance without level grinding Pikachu. If it were to use say Disable sometimes instead of always using Psybeam every turn, we'd be able to do something that turn and actually have a chance, while it would still be much easier if you level grinded Pikachu to outspeed it.
Have you fixed the bug I found in "March of the Exeggcutor Squad" where you can't continue the episode if you battle all the trainers before you go in the tent?
By the way, some more trainers and Pokémon Centers in the later routes would be highly appreciated, and I'd like to see Pidgeotto...
Well, he would've used it in the Johto League, but it had an accident with some Electrode, and Squirtle had to fill in for it. It would've been nice if Ash had used it in the Battle Frontier or the Sinnoh League, but Ash has so many by that time that some get lost in the shuffle.
First season
Pikachu
Pidgeotto
Bulbasaur
Charmander/Charmeleon/Charizard
Squirtle
Caterpie/Metapod/Butterfree/Primeape/Open Party Spot
Second Season
Pikachu
Bulbasaur
Charizard
Squirtle
Lapras
Snorlax/Tauros
Primeape doesn't learn Mega Kick by level up. Ash's Primeape knew it by TM. If you're saying that Ash's Primeape should already have been taught that TM when you catch it, it could be a possibilty for Metapod to include, but I think the idea is for you to use your Mega Kick TM on Primeape if you...
You can't just restrict the movesets to what they used in the show. Pikachu never used Growl, Tail Whip, or Slam. Charmander, etc. never used Scratch or Slash (or Metal Claw which is strangely missing from the game). Squirtle never used Bite. Those are all still in there in the right spots. If...
But then we'd get stuck with a mostly (with the lone exception of Cinnabar Gym, I would assume) useless Charizard for over 60 episodes. I'd rather be able to battle with Charmander and only evolve it shortly before "Charizard Chills."
Hey Metapod, did you read my previous post about the big...
I thought the First Movie didn't take place until right after "Pallet Party Panic" since Pidgeotto (who needs to be added to the "Snow Way Out" and "Purr-fect Hero" events) wasn't in it. It's true that Staryu, Goldeen, Geodude, Onix, and Zubat didn't make appearances either, but I think they...
Then you can't get it. You get the hatchet on the St. Anne, and you can't backtrack to any areas you visited before you boarded the ship. It's one thing I'm hoping Metapod changes in future versions.
It was certainly in the code of every 3rd gen game (like how Togetic used it with Metronome), but Pikachu couldn't learn it until Emerald. Besides, Ash's Pikachu didn't learn Volt Tackle until the 9th season, so why would it learn it in a hack that will only cover the first 2 seasons?
It can't in this beta. You have to wait until the game gets up to "Charizard Chills" in the Orange Islands, just like in the anime. In future betas, don't evolve Charmander until near that point.
