I was so exhausted by all the flaws of the game after finishing the Pokédex that I didn't play Pokémon for a year after lol.
Luckily I regained my love for it lol, even made my own romhack.
I actually figured out that this would corrupt the rom seeing as the pointers for loops and everything would become mixed up. Instead I just ripped the .s from Sappy and tried and tried again until I finally learned to implement them manually lol. Thanks for the help though!
Nevermind, I had an epic plan, I'm going to patch a blank rom, then copy the song table it creates. I'll paste it where I can find the space and then change the pointers from 00 00 80 08 to wherever I decide to put it instead. This should work right?
Hey I know I'm 4 years late, but I was wondering if you knew of any way to apply this patch to a different area of the rom other than 0x800000? I already have loads of stuff there :(
Is there something I can edit so that it puts this data at a different offset?
Hey guys, I'm working on a hack and I downloaded a music patch because it was too much of stress trying to get sappy to work.
The patch was the musical base by Squeetz, and it inserts data from 0x800000 to 0x8FFFFFF.
I already have data here, so does anyone have any idea how I would go about...
oh sorry i understand what you're asking now, that would be pretty hard to do without some major asm, i'm thinking that instead of the Pokémon evolving, you could replace the pokemon with another pokemon when it reaches that level, but that would come with a whole host of problems.
I repurposed one of the chambers from Fire Red to be a cave.
No wild Pokémon are appearing no matter what I edit.
I have tried editing the Behaviour Bytes of the blocks used, changing the weather and other map options, removing the map scripts, changing the tileset, nothing is working.
I even...
No idea why this is happening. There are no scripts that I'm walking on that would activate this kind of thing.
Anyone have any suggestions of what I could be doing wrong?
It seems to occur when certain sprites are about to come into view.
Let me know if you need any screenshots.
