What I did is I saved the game one route 101 and if Latias wasn't there, I turned of the game. I turned the game back on and it was on route 101. I saw that it was shiny, so I guess I am lucky. P.S. Doesn't the catch any pokemon on route 101 gameshark code make the pokemon level 2 or 3 that...

With visual boy advance you don't have to save by using the start menu. All you have to do is when you wnt to save hold down shift and press f1. It will say wrote state 1.to load your game just start the game anf press f1 to continue.
