    I use my starter the whole. Maybe using the flying pokemon of that generation, but other than that I really don't use anything else. I want to say Empoleon was around Lv. 70-75 by the time I got the E4. I had no problem what-so-ever with just using my starter, and I've done it every single time...

    The same thing happened to me. I didn't try to trade them, but I do have the Pikachu and Staravia and it says the same thing. The Pikachu is also a different Lv. then what Serebii says it should be.
