I think the most important task on the way to change in this matter is to present convenience to people as the main benefit. The entry threshold may actually seem high for people who like old and proven solutions. The problem is that people don't like change and like easy and undemanding...

Actually it’s not true. Emulators on 2DS/3DS sucks, try to inject game with NSUI. I play this hack on my 2DS and it works great.

Will the game have backsprites of Digimons?

Awesome hack! I have a question: Will it work on the 3DS or only on the emulator? VBA had a problem with it but OpenEmu didn't so I don't know.
