I've caught a shiny Bellsprout after 21 sightings yesterday and a shiny Vulpix after 45 to 46 sightings today. Both are my very first ones and Bellsprout was actually a surprise encounter, I didn't hunted for one. I only wanted to level up my pokemon.

Excluding the red Gyarados in SoulSilver, I caught my very first Shiny yesterday in LGE, it was a Bellsprout. And right today I caught a shiny Vulpix in the same game.

The very first pokemon I've ever catched was a pink Shellos in 'Diamond', if I remember correctly (from the start I only catched pokemon of which I liked the appearance). But my first pokemon ever was a Turtwig.

Just where did you find the 'Diamond and Pearl' DVD series? In my country you can currently only buy season 1, 2, 17, 18 and 19 on dvd.

I've gotten a bit curious, if you would buy the DVDs of the pokemon anime, if they are avaible in your country, or not and would more likely watch it on the internet?

I‘m somehow trying to get a male, shiny vulpix (normal form), catched with a normal ball, or a great ball, or an ultra ball. I‘ve also already tried to bred one, but haven‘t succeeded so far... Can anyone help me?
