As the young Latios lay injured in the snow, a young trainer by the name of Cody Spirit, somehow felt his pain, and heard him in pain. Cody took the injured pokemon into his care, and nursed him back to health. When it came time to say good bye to the young Latios, Latios replied, "I do not wish to leave you. I wish, to be your partner." And it was thus; the Spirit Trainer was born.
