With water Pokemon being one of the biggest types it makes sense to not add tons of new water types in the new gen.

I think that it depends on the Mega and on the Legendary in question. Some Mega's, like Mawille, only get Mega's so that they are viable options.

In response to lesqx. I prefer Crawdaunt. Aesthetically it's more pleasing, and it brings back good memories of Ruby and Sapphire. I know that Kingler is a classic on the other hand.
