WOW you just made it seem like the gen 4 starters fit very well with the hack's theme! Idea for @Spherical Ice: Later in the game, lets say i chose Piplup as my starter, i could go to a "flaming jungle" and find a Chimchar (a flaming jungle could also be a good location for a hidden temple!) ...
