Usually just whenever I feel like it. The last Pokemon Game I bought on release was definitely Pearl. Black, X, Omega Ruby, and Moon I bought a few months to a year after release.

Kyon from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. There's something about his "I'm always getting dragged into stuff" attitude that works so well. Also him being the only "normal" person in the main cast helps.

Seems honestly like balance is the key. Knowing if your game is too hard or too easy is very important. Even if the aim is for the game to be "hard" there's a fine line between hard and not-fun/unfair. Also, mis-matching assets also is odd to me. If someone created a trainer sprite from scratch...

Dragon Ball Super, Kengan Ashura, etc. There's something about shows with mild amounts of character building but a lot of one on one fights that I appreciate. I don't think these shows are bad, but I think it's pretty clear that the writing of both of these are relatively not that great
