    Don't forget about .bak files, copies, and other forms of backup. ;)

    Nothing in life (except food, water, and sleep) is necessary. its the necessities used that make the unnecessary worth creating. As for using a hex editor, it only takes one wrong move to render the rom unusable. This helps reduce the risk.
