Idk if anyone has a similar issue but I patched the correct emerald rom but when I launch it it shows the copyright screen then just black. No sounds or input. Anyone have any ideas?

So I got to the guy in Goldenrod that offers a machop for an abra but now he asks for a cubone for a diglett. Did this change? I was really banking on that machop.
