So what I want to know is, does it support battles yet? It seems that any engine I've seen in development always has either one or the other, but I haven't seen one with both yet.
As for your conversion requirements, consider using ImageMagick. It's a program that massively renames and converts...
Oh man, Deltora Quest. I loved that book series so much when I was a little kid.
But your idea seems to not be much of an idea. You've basically given us a synopsis of the Delotra Quest stories without really telling us what kind of gameplay there's going to be, like DaSpirit mentioned.
I like to think we're not fixing things that may or may not be broken, but breaking them deliberately by changing one thing and then fixing them in a different way.
Not quite. The problem there is that you can get through battles without losing HP, but never without losing endurance points. Remember that endurance is not exactly like mana in that a Pokémon should be able to rest with time (for some game-mechanical definition of "time") and still recover...
In my system, regeneration happens when you're not in the battle. If you wanted to emulate the whole "PP doesn't regenerate either" thing, you could also have no regeneration, but you'd need a lot larger of a mana pool.
I think they should keep it at 1x. And taking 2x for a strongly typed...
Here are some general guidelines (that I follow) when designing base stats for monsters, as to what "level" the stat total is at:
Totals
180 - 210: The ones that are specifically designed to be "weak" like Sunkern or Magikarp.
210 - 300: Basic Pokémon found in the wild on early routes, and...
Nintendo is pretty much obligated to reject requests to make fan games; those fan games use trademarks (and often copyrighted materials), and if the issue were ever brought up in court, it might set a precedent as far as Nintendo is concerned, allowing for more infringement of those trademarks...
Even in "deoxyribonucleic acid", the "deoxyribo-" part comes from "deoxyribose", which is "deoxygenated ribose", or "ribose with a few less oxygen atoms" or "ribose without oxygen".
Alright, will do :P
Thanks for all your replies.
Often changing things requires the thought of wanting to change them first, and that will always be for the sake of changing them because you're unsatisfied with simply "sticking to what works".
Sometimes the change isn't for the better, in which case you always...
One of the things I did while starting to create Four Star Mon was to propose revamps of almost every single formula in the Pokémon games.
I've actually implemented a few of them in the engine itself, and they seem to work just fine. But I know from seeing many posts on here that some people...
"Deoxyzoa" would be too much like "Deoxys" for your comfort, eh? :P (Not to mention it means "animals without oxygen" which is weird :P)
So 4 starters, one of which you encounter in a battle without a Deozoon of your own. That seems nice. I'd go for that myself.
Will you object to me calling...
The game designer and mathematician in me says, if you want to test this rule, why not try creating a game where the trainer is not limited to six? How about, say, seven.
With the caveat, of course, that the game is still balanced based upon a team of six.
