Not really. An MMO would mean you could meet other players in the open world and see them walk around. Since pokemon doesn't have that yet, it's not really an MMO IMO.

There's no way to turn them off, but you can sort of "mimic" turning them off by using the Dowsing Machine. The Dowsing Machine is basically your "turn off rollerskates" if you will. It basically makes you move around with the machine like you would when you move with the arrow pad.

HGSS isn't gen 1 remake, it's a gen 2 remake IIRC. I'd really like to see a gen 3 remake tbh. Pokemon Sapphire/Emerald were just amazing IMO. Would be fun to create a base again ;P
