    The Wedlocke Challenge (Revisited)

Yeah, I went and failed Y. 8 deaths between the second and third gyms. I'm starting all six of my games over, if I may. I got crushed pretty bad, but I intend to come back stronger. EDIT 9/7: wiped again, so I'm trying this fo New, constantly updating teams box: Crystal: Ruby...

2nd Gen Anyone else HATE the Vermilion Gym trash can puzzle?

It does suck that there's no skill whatsoever involved in solving it, but it's not the hardest thing in the world, since your odds of choosing the right second switch never fall below 25%.

1st Gen What did you evolve your Eevee into?

My Eeveelution always matches the version I'm playing - Vaporeon for Blue, Jolteon for Yellow, Flareon for Red.

    1st Gen [GREEN]The ugliest sprites

Venusaur and Charizard both look awful. Imagine playing through the game for the first time and finally evolving your starters to their final stage... only to be greeted with those things.

2nd Gen Your Favorite Gym Leader?

Clair's probably the most consistent challenging fight, but her whole tantrum after the fact just makes me want to shove her in the lava. I'd probably go with Giovanni, since you get somewhat more satisfaction from beating him, him being the boss of Team Rocket and all.

    1st Gen Hitmonchan or Hitmonlee?

I like Hitmonlee, but I hate using Jump Kick and Hi Jump Kick on anything.

5th Gen Which gym leader was toughest?

Clay can be a huge bother even if you have Dewott, that's ho tough he is. Lenora, you can pretty much neutralize with a good Fighting type, but Clay will most always be a challenge.

4th Gen Favourite 4th Generation Legendary

Gotta go with Dialga. It looks cool as hell, it's got great typing, and it controls time. That is all.

    3rd Gen Hoenn Elite 4

Phoebe might be the only Elite Four member who gets owned by a Route 1 catch (Mightyena). And Sydney goes down hard to Fighting types, but it's still a decent Elite Four. Sheer Cold Walrein is something to watch out for.

2nd Gen Metal & Color Generation Help Thread

If you wanna add a Gastly to your team, I'd recommend using it to replace Abra, since they're pretty similar though. To be honest though, if you have no way of trading with someone else, you can find better alternatives to Abra, Machop, Gastly and Geodude, since you can't fully evolve any of...

2nd Gen Pick one of these three.

Oh gosh, that's tough. Chikorita's the cutest, and I usually choose it in Colosseum, but it's not all that useful. If we're talking Gen II, I'd probably go with Typhlosion due to it's access to Fire and ThunderPunch.

    1st Gen Your starter?

My favourite has always been Bulbasaur. Grass-types are my jam.

3rd Gen How old were you

In 2003, I would have been 7 years old. I remember naming my first Sapphire team after Muppets.

    3rd Gen Choosing a water-type Pokemon

If I'm playing Sapphire, there's three good Surfers available pretty much immediately in Mudkip, Wingull and Lotad. Sometimes I use all three at the same time, because none of them share any common weaknesses.

    3rd Gen Sevii Islands

I haven't played through them in a long time, but I remember them being pretty good. If nothing else, they're a decent opportunity to find some Johto Pokemon, and they have the FRLG version of the Daycare and Battle Tower, so they're always worth checking out.
