(This is a reply too Godot17) Probably, but she still reminds me of Misty, the fact that she started travelling with Ash randomly, is sort of like Misty, how because of her Bike she followed Ash. Serena (in my opinion) reflects some characteristics of Misty/Dawn. But then again that's just me.
