Congrats on your Rattata :D And to answer your question, that would be considered 1 shiny. On another note, stupid Ho-oh won't turn golden for me :( I'm at 5200 resets, getting kinda frustrated. But I'll just keep on doing a minimum of 100 resets a day and I should get him eventually :D

Your mom plays Pokemon? That's awesome :D Oh, and yes, from what I hear, if you breed two Pokemon from different game origins, the chances of getting a shiny is dropped to about 1/2000 :) Anyways, I'm at 3000 resets for Ho-oh now :S

Hmm, this is a pretty good idea :) I might try this once I SR my shiny Ho-oh and transfer it to my Diamond. I would probably go with: Shroomish/Evolving/Soul Silver I'm pretty sure the Spore/Focus Punch/Seed Bomb/Facade or Rock Slide set up will own everything in game :)

Ya, I agree that it does suck, but there's nothing they can do about it. As long as there's games, there will always be cheaters/cheating devices that will ruin it for everyone. :/

Yes, the shiny sprite will show when you choose the 3 pokemon. And ya, save in front of the machine so you don't have to go through professor Elm explaining everything all the time :P I'm 99.999% sure it works with the UK version :)

Ya, most people have already answered your question but everyone seems to be recommending GIMP as a free program. But another good one is Paint.Net. That's the one I use and it works great. I also find it easier to understand then GIMP, but that's just me.

Chain's rarely break for no reason. There is always a small chance it will break at all times, but about 95% of the time, you triggered something that caused it to break. If you need extra help with chaining, click the link it my sig. The guide should help you.
