Yeah, there was a sense of continuation, where after you face & defeat the best in your region, you could travel to another region to defeat their greatest trainers. The new games could have been even better if you could travel to the previous regions

I don't really care about the anime. I'm more into the games and the various manga series I think the last eopisode I watched fully was the Bulbasaur vs. Scyther match during the Indigo Plateau, and before that, the ep where TR was trying to kidnap all those pokemon in viridian city pokecenter...

What I want to know is why TR is still going after Pikachu. I mean, there are loads of cooler & better pokemon around, so why do they want an electric rat???
