Well, I think it's good that not every new Pokemon in this generation is going to be totally alien in design. That's partly the reason a lot of people got turned off during the G/S/C generation, since a lot of the new species unveiled were just considered "too weird".

It was pretty obvious that those were fake (the purple dinosaur lacked that certain Sugimori charm) but part of me wants them to be real ;.; They had so much potential as starters.

It's possible that you could get to choose from a second set of starters once you enter the Underground area, though that's again simply a guess. Those fake designs did look pretty cool, and their types would be more suited to the underground.

About time we had a proper penguin Pokemon. It's kind of disappointing, since I did like the look of those Psychic/Fighting/Dark starters, but I'm sure these ones will grow on me soon. That monkey's looking pretty kickass. Oh, and first post, hi, etc.
